The Best System in the World (1)

Jiang Xiaoman was looking forward to the heavy snowfall to come, but the end of the year came before it could.

Jiang was about to go to the city to buy things for the new year and ask her to come with him. However, the weather was too cold, and the town was far away from the village. Jiang Xiaoman often gets carsick, so she was not very happy.

She hugged her blanket tightly, only her pair of round eyes showing. It looked at Jiang Xing defensively, as if afraid that he would dig her out from under the blanket. It was freezing, and she did not want to go out.

She had a habit of covering her head when sleeping. Her hair was standing up, affected by the static electricity, and looked very cute.

Jiang Xing sighed. “All right, fine, fine. I will go by myself then, don’t regret it later.”CHeCk for new stories on no/v/el/bin(.)c0m

“Shoo, shoo.”

Jiang Xing went out alone.

Jiang Xiumei also urged him to buy a new set of clothes for Jiang Xiaoman for the New Year. They had to feel festive, preferably bright red.

This stumped Jiang Xing.

The more she looked at it, the more she liked it, and she finally stopped crying.

She sniffed and said, “Okay.”

Jiang Xing was relieved.

They were both women; how would he have known that their tastes were so different!

Although the dress style wasn’t modern, Jiang Xiaoman looked good on it. She looked as if she were carved from jade and adorned with powder and looked very cute with her round face. She was just stinky, crying that she didn’t look right.

Jiang Xing hugged her and adjusted her pose, saying that he would take some photos as a souvenir.

He recently bought a camera; it was an old model that still used film.

Jiang Xiaoman was quickly attracted by the camera and begged Jiang Xing to teach her how to use it. The two uncles and niece soon made up and went out to play together.

Jiang Xing carried Jiang Xiaoman on his back, shouting like a child and running wherever Xiaoman pointed to.

On the second day of the New Year, Jiang Xiaoman already wore the clothes Jiang Xing bought for her and even asked Jiang Xiumei to add two more bells. Then she went out to give her New Year’s greetings with a jingling sound.

She looked pretty, not like the other children who looked like monkeys fished out from a mud pit. She had soft white skin that didn’t turn dark no matter how much the sun burnt her. It looked very pleasant, and everyone who saw her wanted to hug her and squeeze her cheeks.
