“Ancient Chronicles: Enchantress of the Demon Sect”

Bai Youyou, also known as the Holy Maiden of the Saint Lin Palace, possessed a pure and innocent nature. She had an exquisitely beautiful appearance and was acclaimed as the most stunning beauty in the world. Countless heroes and nobles from the martial world vied for her attention. Some described her appearance as heavenly, transcending mortal realms.

Truthfully, it wasn’t just the Holy Maiden who possessed such beauty. From the enigmatic Palace Master of the Saint Lin Palace, whose martial arts were unfathomable, to the servants performing menial tasks, everyone in the palace was remarkably good-looking, with handsome men and gorgeous women. Ugliness was almost non-existent.

As the foremost sect in the world, the Saint Lin Palace held an unparalleled position in the martial world. Not only within the realm of martial arts, but the Saint Lin Palace also maintained close ties with the royal families of various nations. Among the descendants/disciples of the Saint Lin Palace, there were even princes and princesses from certain countries.

The Saint Lin Palace possessed the Sacred Unicorn Technique. It was rumored that those who fully mastered this technique would acquire the ability to create worlds and shatter voids. Although the authenticity of this rumor was uncertain, it was a fact that the Palace Master of the Saint Lin Palace had immeasurable martial prowess and had never encountered a worthy opponent. Therefore, in the boundless land of the Unseen Continent, the Saint Lin Palace was a coveted place that countless individuals aspired to replace or conquer.

Located on the Holy Mountain, the Saint Lin Palace occupied sixteen peaks. The main peak, Saint Lin Peak, was presided over by the Palace Master Bai Shui, while the secondary peak, Holy Maiden Peak, served as the residence for generations of Holy Maidens.

At this moment, on the Holy Maiden Peak, the surroundings were covered in pristine white snow. Underneath a cedar tree stood a girl draped in a red cloak, her delicate face filled with awe.

“Xixi, this place is so beautiful.

Just as she arrived in this world, she was captivated by the silver-white scenery before her.

Misty mountains stretched endlessly, shrouded in an ethereal fog. Adorned with snow and undulating peaks, they seemed to perch in the heavens. Between the mountains, an infinite and ever-changing sea of magnificent clouds rolled and churned, creating a spectacular sight.

Nodding in agreement, Youyou added, “It truly is beautiful.”

[…]

[Host, I, Xixi, will now transmit the plot of this world, as well as the memories of the original owner, Bai Youyou. Please check and receive them.]

“Mhm,” Youyou responded.

A gust of wind blew, causing Youyou’s eyelashes to flutter. She adjusted her coat and soon felt that her mind had become filled with numerous new pieces of information.

“Ah!”

It turned out that the novel’s world she had transmigrated into was called “Records of the Unseen.”

“Records of the Unseen” primarily told the love story between Bai Youyou, the Holy Maiden of the Saint Lin Palace, and Yao Yue, the leader of the Demon Sect.

Yao Yue possessed a wicked personality and employed cruel methods. She was a notorious demon lord in the martial world, known for her evil deeds. When Bai Youyou disguised herself as a young man and ventured out of the palace, Yao Yue kidnapped her and, during this process, genuinely fell in love with her.

Yao Yue was a bold and unconventional woman, unbound by social norms.

Upon discovering that the protagonist, Bai Youyou, was actually a woman and not a young man, Yao Yue didn’t choose to give up but instead became even more unrestrained in her affections.

In the original plot, they were blissfully happy, but in the alternate version, before meeting Bai Youyou, Yao Yue had already fallen victim to the love potion of Miaojiang’s Gu Nu1This isn’t really her name, but the alternative would be the Gu Woman, and I don’t think that flows very well, so I’ll keep it in pinyin until we get her actual name..

The love potion was a method used by Miaojiang women to bind their lovers or beloved ones (to themselves).

Yao Yue, influenced by the love potion, developed strong feelings for Gu Nu. However, their relationship was filled with numerous ups and downs due to the effects of the potion. It was a deeply tragic and tumultuous love, fraught with misunderstandings. In contrast to the original storyline, where one was gentle and the other fierce, both Yao Yue and Gu Nu were aggressive individuals who possessed ambitions that didn’t conform to societal expectations of men. As a result, the extended version of the plot had a much broader scope. It not only involved the two factions but also encompassed the martial world, court politics, and the chaos of war.

In the final part of the extended version, after experiencing a series of misunderstandings and reconciliations, Yao Yue and Gu Nu finally made peace. Amidst a backdrop of conflicts and betrayals, they united the Unseen Continent and established the Moon Phoenix Nation, with the royal title of Lin.

Youyou:…

“Wow.”

If it weren’t for Yao Yue and Gu Nu plotting against the Saint Lin Palace during their rise to power, Youyou would have definitely admired them and showered them with stars of admiration. Because they were truly formidable.

They actually unified over a dozen countries, you know?

It should be noted that there are four colossal powers on the Unseen Continent: the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise. Each country is not to be trifled with, let alone the other dozen or so smaller countries eagerly waiting on the sidelines, ready to expand their territories at any moment.

Bai Qu once said that those who aspire to be Emperor are usually driven by immense ambition, possess hearts of iron and stone, are skilled in calculation, and step on countless skeletons without blinking. Especially founding emperors, they are ruthlessly bloodthirsty to the core.

Therefore, upon seeing her mission target, Yao Yue, Youyou’s initial reaction was to give up and follow the extended version of the plot.

[But people die in the extended version.]

Upon hearing the host’s words, Xixi tried to persuade her.

[Isn’t there another way?]

“Yao Yue is very wicked. She kills without hesitation. She’s a complex character, Xixi. I don’t want to interact with someone like her. She scares me.”

Adorned in scarlet, standing atop the pure white Saint Maiden Peak, Youyou walked around the snow-capped cedar trees in circles, occasionally exhaling puffs of white mist, her brows slightly furrowed.

“I’m scared, Xixi. Yao Yue has an unpredictable temperament and a penchant for killing.”

Although she didn’t retain her memories, Youyou had unconsciously been influenced by the previous mission, and as such, she was particularly afraid of cruel people with violent tendencies. Especially women.

[I’m sorry, host.]

Although it pained her, the rules of the main god’s space were like this.

Unable to bear seeing the host disappointed, Xixi thought for a moment and said, [However, if the host truly dislikes Yao Yue, you can intentionally fail the mission in this world. As long as you have some contact with Yao Yue and show an intention to conquer her, the main system usually won’t force the host to follow the extended version of the plot.]

It took a while for Youyou to understand what Xixi’s meant, and her eyes widened as she asked, “Really?”

[Yes, host. But every advantage has its drawbacks. If this mission fails, the difficulty of the next mission will increase. It’s a never-ending cycle.]

That’s why many previous hosts became more and more despondent.

Youyou: …

With a slight twitch of her lips, even if Youyou wasn’t the sharpest, she understood Xixi’s meaning.

If she didn’t complete the mission in this world, the future mission targets would only become more annoying and difficult to deal with than Yao Yue.

Scratching her head, Youyou seemed to make up her mind and directly stamped her foot, saying, [Then let’s follow the extended version of the plot. Instead of being killed by Yao Yue and Gu Nu while completing the task, it’s better to wait for them to come and kill me. After all, the original host had been living quite well before being murdered.]

As for the original Bai Youyou, she held a respected position as the Holy Maiden of the Saint Lin Palace, a status comparable to that of princes and princesses.

Therefore, compared to bitterness, Youyou naturally chose sweetness, even if that sweetness was laced with poison.

Knowing that the host, even if her memories were sealed, was still influenced by the death of the previous world, Xixi silently pursed her lips in the system space and said, [Xixi will listen to the host.]
