Chapter 18.2 – Sparkling Young People Outside the Store

「You are Eraf’s friend, aren’t you?」

「Yes, my family owns a grocery store.」

「Is it the one near the hardware store she told me about?」

「Yes, that’s right.」

「Please get along with her.」

「Eh, yeah, of course…..」

Even though we are talking, my eyes are glued to the clerk’s clothes.

「You are Eraf’s friend, aren’t you?」

I wonder how many gold coins it costs.

There’s not a part in it that’s not elaborate. It’s simply amazing.

「Hnn? This dress?」

The lady turned around in a circle while saying, “this dress?”.

Her silver hair reflected the light making her look extremely beautiful.

The adventurer lady next to her was also staring at her.

「Master paid for it but there are so many girls who want to wear this dress. The clerks of this store have become the source of envy among us.」

「I bet it is…..」

「Sometimes, there are even customers asking me about it. They ask if this store is looking for more clerks.」

「「I bet they are…」」

My and the voice of the elder sister next to me overlapped.

The mayor’s daughter’s wedding clothes are probably cheaper.

「I’m back」

Then, Eraf arrived with drinks and food.

She brought the white fluffy drinks and three layers of thin bread.

The bread was covered with red sauce and white fluffy stuff was also placed on top of it.

「These are the most popular items on our menu so try them.」

「Of course.」

I took a sip of the coffee, which was refreshingly cool, with a hint of sweetness and complex bitterness.

Delicious.

「Stir it a little with a spoon.」

I stirred it with a spoon and the white fluffy stuff melted into the coffee in no time.

I drank it.

There it was, a mellow coffee.

Delicious, too delicious.

It was supposed to be sweet but it had a clean aftertaste and if I let my guard down while consuming it, it would be finished in a heartbeat.

I didn’t know that such a drink existed in this world…..

But at the same time, a question came to my mind.

「Why don’t you serve it mixed from the beginning.」

「Because it’s more p.i.c.t.u.r.e.s.q.u.e.」

Well, that’s true. When the white fluffy stuff and the brown coffee were not mixed yet, it was eye-catching and beautiful.

Now that it’s mixed, it’s just a delicious brown coffee.

「The customers outside drink it unmixed saying it’s cooler that way.」

「Ah….so that’s how it is…..」

Fashion is a momentary sparkle with lots of patience and effort.

With mixed feelings, I put the knight into the thin, small loaf of bread.

I lifted it up with a fork and put it in my mouth.

Happiness spread in my mouth.

The bread is sweet itself but it tasted better when it’s combined with the sweetness of the white fluffy stuff, and the red strawberry sauce complimented it.

It’s so delicious.

I want to eat 100 pieces.

Before I knew it, my plate and glass were empty and a glass of water was presented to me.

「How was it?」

「Great….I want to come back….」

「Right. I wanted to brag this place to you.」

Eraf said that but I didn’t take offense. I think working in a place like this is something to brag about.

If it were the other way around, I would have invited all my friends and acquaintances.

I looked around and saw that all the empty seats earlier were now gone.

I guess this place is really popular.

「I guess it’s time for me to go home. I’ll pay my bill.」

「No need. Today’s my treat.」

「Not gonna happen. How much is it?」

Ehto….Eraf calculated it and whispered to me how much. It’s worth my pocket money for one month….

In the end, I took her “company discount” and walked out of the shop.

It’s not often that my slave friend buys me a drink…..

The cool people from earlier were no longer at the table outside.

However, where did they come from? Fashionable young people, as sparkling as they are, were enjoying their youth, drinking coffee without stirring the white fluffy stuff.

I turned away, clenched my fists, and started to walk towards home.

Next time, I’ll be….

I’m gonna be like that too!

I’ll save money!

I’ll dress up!

I’m gonna sit outside and drink coffee with white fluffy stuff with Eraf!

I’ll be cool!

But I hope you’ll allow me to stir the white fluffy stuff….
