Mid-spring, when the wind was already strong, the city was in turmoil.

The reason is very obvious.

There was an oversupply of meat from the dungeon and there was no way to get rid of it.

After all, hundreds of boars, birds, goats, etc. are brought back from the dungeon every day.

A meat vendor with a terrible look on his face came with his wife and children at the front of the entrance of the Schenkers headquarters to make a desperate plea while butchers and restaurant owners are lining up at the back door to buy cheap meat.

A hard time.

I know it’s too late to say this but I honestly didn’t expect the adventurers to work this hard.

I was thinking that the city’s table would be slightly enriched by cheap meat but now the situation has become so abnormal that we can’t keep up with the processing of our games without stopping our temporary manpower services.

If this meat were to be distributed to the city, not only would it surely be a huge profit, but it might even become a start for us to control the city.

However, as one might expect, I would never do something like that.

If I were to do it, we would lose livestock and the meat industry would be completely dependent on the dungeon.

That’s not something I want.

Dungeons are very unstable and can be destroyed anytime with one military order.

It’s not a matter of incurring hate from residents, it’s simply too risky.

It’s true that this city is part of the wheat basket of the country so we will not starve but the food culture will certainly degenerate.

I don’t want to be resented by the people of Torquiva for eternity.

「So, are you finally going to fix your acting without thinking nature?」

「No no, Laura-san, I’ve thought about it thoroughly before, okay? It’s just that this time, everyone tried a little too hard…..」

「Which is still your fault, right? Their master has gone through a great deal of trouble to provide them with something that will credit their work. If that doesn’t inspire anyone, there is a problem with them.」

「Is that how it is?」

「In addition, they are adventurers. Adventurers always look to make as much money as possible. If they can make money, they will give up their rest days to go and earn. You can’t blame them.」

「Yeah, I understand more how difficult it is to use people.」

「Every normal noble family is educated about it but……you’re the first generation so I can’t really blame you.」

In our couple’s bedroom, where a pleasant breeze was blowing, Laura-san, who was wearing her thick, knit maternity clothes, gulped down a cup of tea and sealed the letter she was writing with wax.

「And that’s why I’m here.」

「Thank you very much.」

The letter I received from her, who straightened her back, was addressed to the army.

Simply put, it is a request to become a meat supplier.

Of course, I’ve also been using my connections to send letters to many places like the patients I’ve cured, the patient’s spouses, etc.

In situations like this, you should use everything you could use.

「Even so, you’re not going to have them slow down hunting in the dungeon after all this trouble, are you?」

「No, I’m a businessman doing business. As long as it’s profitable, there’s no way I won’t do it even if it’s a little difficult.」

「Yeah, it’s not like you to do the practical.」

「Yeah, I’m sorry for the slaves but it will take time for me to get more manpower so they can only endure a little longer.」

「Well, materials gathered from the dungeon exceeding the city’s capacity is not something unheard.」

「I guess so.」

Yeah, the problem that’s currently occurring on Torquiva, dungeon materials oversupply, occurred, though rarely, on cities with dungeons.

However, the condition for such a thing to happen is quite specific and there are really few and far in between so it’s not much of a problem.

Basically, monsters in the dungeon are left alone after the magic crystals are taken.

The knights’ top priority is efficiency since their goal is to get the crystals and think out the herd so there’s no limit to what adventurers can bring back.

Since dungeon-grown monsters are not handled by the adventurer’s guild, there is no money to be made if they are brought outside and there are taxes to be paid to bring them out of the dungeon area.

Furthermore, there is a limit to the processing capacity of the butchers in the city even if you take the trouble of bringing them out every day.

For a combination of those reasons, dungeon monster corpses have been left in the dungeon after their magic crystals have been extracted and they will become food for rats, insects, and slime molds known as “cleaners”.

However, here in Torquiva, the environment was ripe for processing monsters into meat and materials.

It was a tax-free hunting ground, a vast number of adventurers, and special equipment made to bring back prey with ease.

Above all, there was a strong backup system created by me who had the knowledge to turn all the prey into gold and a vast number of labor slaves.

It was a tough job.

At the meat processing plant that was hurriedly built after the base of the south side of Torquiva was destroyed, a tremendous amount of prey is being processed every day. They are turned into dried meat and sausages and piled up at the Schenker Company supply depot.

Although it is an organization I created, I can only be stunned by this operation.

I was watching the situation as if it were someone else’s problem while saying the power of humanity is great.

Well, I’m the only one who’s acting easygoing like that…..

The head of operations, Chicken, was having a really tough time.

「Okay, just send all the adventurers aside from those who are diving in the dungeon to the factory! We’re totally understaffed!」

「Those who came to hire temporary workers are very angry.」

「But we must prioritize our own factory! Tell them it won’t be possible for a while!」
