Chapter 90: Take the Empress By Force
【What the hell is going on?! Why did the damned screen suddenly jam up?!】
System 12345 yelled in distress.
【My host was finally going to answer my message!】
While Shu Yichao didn’t reply in the end, it didn’t change the fact that they had nearly established communication. It was heart-wrenching for its screen to suddenly fail at this critical juncture.
【Forget it, I’ll use the small screen.】
The small screen was riddled with problems too, such as cracks and static, but System 12345 managed to make it indicate whether the capture targets were alive or not. As for other data, it was still struggling with them.
By this point, System 12345 was starting to get desperate as there weren’t many capture targets left. There would be no way to salvage his internship if any more problems arose.
【Argh! Which is the option for favorability? Why can’t I make it show?】
【Forget it! The data doesn’t matter. We’re dealing with the mini boss anyway, so it isn’t an issue for us to resort to more violent methods as long as we achieve our goal.】
【My host, since you’re a competent fighter, let’s directly have a go at it.】
【I shall send the empress’ coordinates and the location of the palace’s secret passageway. The passageway is constructed in an ingenious way; you won’t be able to force your way in. The switches are over here.】
【I’d suggest that you kidnap the empress and teach her a harsh lesson. Reduce her to tears. Make her scream her throat hoarse. Her body shall tremble whenever she stands before you.】
System 12345 was losing its common decency.
【I hereby issue a mission—Take the Empress By Force!】
【My host, turn that bad woman who tried to harm you into your plaything! Teach her a lesson with your rod!】
System 12345 sent his instructions out via the information window. Seconds later—‘Read.’
【Great! My host saw it!】
System 12345 cheered. We should finally succeed this time, right?
【My host, let me send you Frederina’s weaknesses. Once you know those, she’ll become yours in no time. Hehehe!】
“We need to revise these clauses.”
Since she had made up her mind to escape, Frederina didn’t hesitate to give in to all of Shu Yichao’s demands, no matter how ridiculous they were. She would never fulfill them anyway.
That being said, she knew that she had to put on a convincing act.
Frederina nitpicked on the letter and revised some of the clauses to make it seem like she was interested in a further discussion of the conditions before sending the envoy over to the Eastern Romain Empire’s barracks.
Following that, she summoned her aide.
She was both appalled and in disbelief.
“Run, Your Majesty!” Frederina’s aides and guards rushed over to cover her. “Hide in the underground passageway! We haven’t dug it through yet, but you can seek refuge there!”
Frederina gritted her teeth. She took off her skirt and ran together with her aides.
Along the way, she heard sparse sounds of fighting, the Eastern Romain soldier’s victorious cheers, and the enemies’ approaching footsteps.
Luckily, they reached the underground passageway before the enemies could get to them.
“Enter, Your Majesty!”
The entrance to the underground passageway was open. There was an unbearable stench coming from it, a result of countless corpses dumped there over the years, but she couldn’t care about that right now.
She covered her face with a silk cloth before diving in.
The ground was damp with what seemed to be rotting juices, and filth was littered everywhere. Frederina slowly pushed her way through the passageway till she finally arrived at a drier area.
“Hu! We should be safe now.” Frederina sniffed in fright. She didn’t think a day would come when she would come this close to death.
“Yes, Your Majesty,” her aide replied. “The passageway is sturdy, and the entrances are well-hidden. The Scourge of God won’t be able to find us.”
The only issue was that there was no water and food here, so they wouldn’t be able to last too long here...
Bam!
Frederina leaped in shock. She eyed her aides with alarmed eyes.
How did the Scourge of God find the underground passageway? Could it be that there’s a traitor among these people?
Before the horrified Frederina could move, she suddenly felt a sharp pain from her scalp. Someone was pulling her hair!
Then, the world spun around her.
Bam!
She was smashed to the ground before being dragged to a room, where she was forced to kneel down.
When she finally recovered from her vertigo, a ravishing face came into sight.
It was the Scourge of God!
Frederina stared at Shu Yichao. His face was as beautiful as the finest painting, but she was in no mood to admire his countenance. Deep fear had rattled her.
“Trying to escape?” Sophia, who was standing beside Shu Yichao, scoffed.
