Chapter 184: Bondage Game

Chapter 184: Bondage Game

Shu Yichao was floating in the sky, held up by a massive bug grabbing him from behind.

This bug had huge compound eyes, a straw-like mouth, a furry exterior, and two massive light-gold and sky-blue wings. Isn’t this a moth?

“You are a moth! Your family are moths! I am the Abyss...” The moth paused for a second before completing his sentence. “I am the Abyss Heart Butterfly, a demon butterfly that’s highly sentimental and known to never betray. You can call me Heart Butterfly. Come, call me!”

Heart Butterfly? Isn’t that just a homonym for father?

“Pui!”

Shu Yichao pointed a middle finger at the moth. Its voice was different now, but he was able to recognize the other party from the way he talked.

“Son, are you trying to take advantage of your father here? Try again in your next life! What’s with your transformation? How did you pull it off? I’ll try it too if I have time,” Shu Yichao asked.

Damn! This butterfly transformation is pretty neat, and it’s a flying unit too... I wonder which mod he got this from.

Shu Yichao was itching to give it a try.

No wonder he’s so fond of exploiting bugs... No, it should be called making use of the game’s strengths. It would be such a waste if he doesn’t bug something as good as that out!

“...”

How does my grandson know the Abyss Hell Butterfly is not my original form? It’s true that I got this from undergoing demonification in hell, but...

Miazova darted through the clouds with Shu Yichao while eyeing the latter.

His eyes are too sharp.

“I got it from hell.” Miazova harrumphed. “You want to become a demon too? Well... I do see potential in you.”

“Ah, I see.” Shu Yichao nodded.

Is it a mod about hell? I’ll try to install it next time.

“Let’s put that aside for now. What are you doing pulling me into the sky?” Shu Yichao asked.

Just then, a piercing shriek echoed from beneath.

Miazova looked down.

A vicious-faced high shaman, while spewing lava, unfurled a pair of massive wings and began to pursue them in the sky. The flames he unleashed dyed the clouds crimson, turning the sky into the sight of a living hell.

“AHAHAHAHA!” The high shaman’s smile was so terrifying that a coward would faint at its sight. “Trying to run?! Where do you think you can go? Tang bandits, you’re all dead meat!”

In the end, he’s just a fool. He arrogantly thought that he could challenge me with his poor skills, but as soon as he found himself in a disadvantageous position, he lost his courage and tried to escape...

I bet that necromancer never thought that I could fly too.

“Tsk!” Grabbing Shu Yichao even tighter, Miazova flapped his wings and darted into the clouds. “Hold tight, you darned grandson. We’ll be retreating!”

“Retreat my ass!” Shu Yichao quickly glanced at Miazova’s speed. “Why are you afraid of him? He’s 800 speed, but you have 1100 speed! We can easily kite him to death! Be good, my son! Just hold onto me, and I’ll show you how to crush him!”

But Miazova refused to listen.

After the earlier close fight on the ground, the only thing on its mind was to get as far away from that monster as possible. But...

“What are you doing?!” Miazova screeched.

Shu Yichao easily broke free of Miazova’s grasp. With a twist, he flipped onto the latter’s back, took out his Beast Taming Harness, and placed it on the Abyss Hell Butterfly.

But the high shaman made a miscalculation.

There was a flash of silver light. It was neither from the modao’s sharp edge nor from the Lightning Arrows. Rather, it was coming from a mysterious chain.

This chain had been lying in concealment all this while like a serpent, waiting for an opportunity to bare its fangs and sink its lethal venom into the enemy...

“What’s that?!”

The silver chains immediately shackled the high shaman.

The high shaman had heard that the Great Tang’s Imperial Mentor had an artifact to shackle his enemies, but he had never heard that the artifact would absorb one’s mana. He was horrified to discover his mana swiftly drying up, till it vanished altogether.

“Impossible!”

The high shaman knew better than anyone how huge his mana reserve was. To draw an analogy, it was comparable to a rapidly flowing river. Yet, the river had suddenly turned into a dry river bed.

This alarmed him.

This is madness! I have ruled over Transoxania for so many years, but I have never encountered anything as eerie as this!

The high shaman anxiously struggled, clutching onto the hope that the artifact might be surprisingly fragile. It was a fair deduction, as very few artifacts were both powerful and resilient. Unfortunately, he didn’t have time to put that deduction to the test.

For Shu Yichao’s lightning-clad modao was already right before his eyes.

If the high shaman still had his mana, he could at least wrap himself in mana. With his superior magic resistance and defense, Shu Yichao would have to slowly scrape him down bit by bit.

But now...

The first cut!

“AH!!!”

With a flash of white light, the high shaman’s wings were sliced off. A blood stench wafted in the air.

The second cut!

Shoosh!

Lightning crackled, and flames spewed everywhere. The high shaman’s claws were slashed off.

The third cut!

Shu Yichao aimed his modao at the high shaman’s head.

A mere glance at Shu Yichao sent warning bells ringing in the high shaman’s heart. His muscles and nerves were screaming danger at him.

I’ll die at this rate. I’ll really die!!!

The high shaman mustered the final bit of his strength and howled in despair. Teetering between the boundary of life and death, he decided to put aside his dignity and pride.

Those things were only useful for the living!

“Milord, deity from the high heavens! It’s a misunderstanding! We can talk things through, so...”

BZZZT!

Lightning crashed on the high shaman like the final judgment, devouring him whole.
