Chapter 50: The calm before the storm 1

Days turned to weeks and soon it was exactly a month since Rowena was sent to the asylum by Maijune.

Rowena cried every night as she found her situation unbearable. Every day, she had to wake up at 3:00AM to cook and serve mad people. It wasn't easy serving these mentally retarded people at all.

One mistake and they could take it out on you. She tried so many times to escape and failed every time.

Rowena vowed in her heart that she was going to make Maijune pay dearly when she got able to get out of that place.

Off course, her management agency did their best to look for her but her assistant found a letter in her hotel room saying she was going on a vacation for two months and that all her schedules and work be cancelled or pushed ahead to the next two months.

After seeing the letter written in her own head writing and her signature, the CEO decided to not look into it as every search came to a dead end.

This letter was indeed written by Rowena but it was Maijune who forced her to write it. It was a clever move to cut off any form of trace back to her.

Mandy Myers also went into hiding, still plotting and waiting for an opportunity to take down the Saint family since her plan A backfired. With Rowena gone missing, she had no choice but to lay low for the time been.

EDEN ESTATES.

LIYAH'S VILLA.

Liyah successfully sold her house and bought an empty villa in Eden Estates closer to Aaron's villa.

Today was the day she planned to move in, so she made Maijune to help her with some preparations for a housewarming party.

Liyah opened the door and went inside with Maijune saying 'Look, isn't it beautiful? I really love this place'.

Maijune frowned and looked at the interior saying.

'Did you really have to buy a villa closer to us? Everything looks the same as our place. Why is it so hard to shake you off? You're like a glue'.

Liyah looked at her and chuckled. 'Come and check this room out, I especially asked the designer to turn this place into a workshop room. I can do my work here'. Liyah said pulling Maijune along into a room that was setup with a sewing machine and different materials.

Maijune looked at Liyah worriedly.

She had been acting too well like nothing had happened. It really scared her. It was like the calm before the storm because everything was going on too well that it didn't feel normal anymore.

Ever since what happened, Liyah had been acting carefree. She ate well, took her anxiety disorder medicine on time, chatted with her throughout the nights, watched TV, forced her to go shopping but she never mentioned anything about the company.

Her actions were normal yet not at all normal. Aaron Saint and Leo Martins managed to sort things out at the company. They paid off all the workers and closed the company pair Liyah's instructions. But, she never spoke about the company nor mentioned its name.

It was like the company didn't even exist in her mind anymore, this was strange in itself but they didn't want to pressure her.

Liyah's behaviour made Maijune anxious and worried for her. Maijune would rather Liyah cried it out like a normal person or got angry but, Liyah never did any such thing.

Just like now, Maijune could tell she was faking all of her actions. It made Maijune angry to see her that way.

Maijune was really losing her patience with her as she pulled her hand away and shouted at Liyah.

'Big sis, why don't you drop the act now? No one is here. Is just us'. Liyah looked at Maijune confused.

'What act? Maijune what is it?'

Maijune threw the stuff in her hands on the floor and said angrily 'stop acting like nothing happened. Stop acting like you are not hurt. Stop acting like everything is alright with you, please? This is driving me crazy, you're driving me crazy. Do you know that? You're hurt. Your nude video was shared to the whole world for God's sake'.

'Shut up, Maijune. Shut up!!' Liyah screamed closing her ears.

'Why? Why are you acting like is fine when is not? I see the way you act around Aaron and Leo for crying out loud. You are not comfortable around men. You don't go near them. You fright when we are in the midst of a man while we go shopping. You...you'

Liyah slapped Maijune on the cheek and stepped back holding her hand. Maijune touched her cheek and Liyah ran out of the villa and Maijune followed.

Maijune ran after Liyah as Liyah ran out of the estates gate. Maijune saw her and ran after her.

Liyah saw a group of men approaching and fell down. She covered her ears with her hands while mumbling scarily 'don't hurt me, please, don't hurt me, I will be obedient'.

The men stopped and looked at her. Maijune ran to her and covered her with her coat and hugged her saying 'is alright, I'm here. You're safe'.

Liyah looked at Maijune and shrugged into her embrace.

Soon, Aaron and Leo arrived at the location in their car and pulled over.

Maijune helped Liyah into the car as she refused to be touched by Aaron nor Leo.

SAINT VILLA.

HALL.

Dr. Kash and Maijune walked out of the room and joined the others in the hall.

Leo Martins stood up first and asked 'how is she doing, Kash?'

'She is asleep. She was just having a panic attack'.

'What happened? I thought you two were preparing for the housewarming party?' Aaron asked looking at Maijune.

'We were but…blame me. Is my fault'. Maijune admitted.

'What did you do?' Aaron asked as the others looked at them.

'I just wanted her to stop acting like she was alright. She had been faking it, Aaron Saint. I just hated to see her that way'.

'So, you reminded her of what happened, right? Maijune, how many times do I have to tell you to be careful? Not everyone is like you? Liyah is coping up with this the best way she can and you reminded her of what she had been trying to forget? How irresponsible can you get?' Aaron said angrily.

'Aaron, that's enough. Maijune is still a kid and she did what she thought was best' Leo chipped in.

'Then, she should know what to say and what not to? We all know Liyah is pretending to be okay but we are also playing along with her. She ran outside, what if something had happened to her?' Aaron looked at Maijune.

'Is okay, Maijune isn't happy about the situation either, Aaron'. Dr. Kash said.

Maijune looked at Aaron fighting back her tears as she spoke. 'Right, I am the bad guy. I am always the bad guy no matter what I do. How could I forget? You still love her and she is the reason why you almost fucking killed me five years ago. Why don't I just disappear and let you two be together again?'

Maijune threw her phone at Aaron and picked her cap and left the house.

'Aaron, you didn't have to scold her that way. She is just a kid'. Leo said.

'Aaron, you said those things because you were reminded of your mom, right?' Dr. Kash asked.

'Damn it!!! I need to go and look for her'. Aaron picked his car keys and left the house.
