"By other means, you don't mean by that…right?'' Rowena asked suspiciously.
''You're right. I am leaving the city by sea. I have no other option anyway''. Mandy Myers said.
''Grandma, please, take me along. I really can't live here. This place is hell. I don't like their food and the rooms are small and dirty too. My roommates bully me nonstop and take away my food''.
Rowena stood up from her seat and scooped closer to the window.
''I can't. Now, is everyone for himself. You are locked up here, how do I get you out?'' The old woman asked with a frown.
''You have money. You can pay my way out of here''. Rowena said.
''I can't. My money is barely enough to keep me alive. How can I spend that on you? When you have up lived your usefulness? Don't you agree? You are a nothing but a burden now. I can't take that rest''. Mandy Myers said with a smirk.
Rowena sat back and chuckled. She thought this old hag was wicked but now she realised wickedness wasn't a good enough word to use to describe her. She was having a good life with fame and money back at Country B but this old hag managed to convince and deceive her into joining her. She didn't even know that she was just a piece of the chess for this old hag. Now she wanted to escape and leave without her?
''You can leave then, but remember this you old hag. You will be the first person to die by my hands the moment I get out of here. I will find you wherever you are and kill you''. Rowena said and culled her hands into a fist. Mandy Myers looked at her and laughed. She moved closer to the window and spoke into the phone.
''Tsk, tsk, tsk. You, stupid little girl. Do you think is that easy to kill me? Then, Aaron Saint would have done that long time ago. But, you can try. That is if you even make it out of here alive. I have eyes everywhere Rowena Myers. I can make it that you never get out of here. If you don't want me to do that, then, you should quietly stay here and be obedient, mm? Getting rid of something as insignificant as you isn't so hard but, it is too troublesome and annoying, so while I am allowing you to even breathe you better stay quiet or I might just change my mind and trample you to death. Do you understand me?''.
Mandy Myers looked at Rowena's distorted face and laughed. She put the phone down and picked her bag. She waved her hand at Rowena and went out. Rowena hit her fist against the window angrily and screamed.
.....
Mandy Myers walked out of the institute and a bodyguard opened the Mercedes Benz for her to enter. She entered and sat at the back and turned to Lorca. The driver drove off as they chatted.
''Did you have a good interaction with your granddaughter?" Lorca asked.
''I did. She is still foolish as ever. She really needs to grow up. I hate stupid people the most''. Mandy Myers said and looked outside the window adding ''is everything ready for me to leave?''
''Yes, Ma'am. The ship will leave by midnight tomorrow. I have already made arrangements. You will stay in the ship's underground room. They usually put extra machinery there and sea navy don't check that area. You will be safe. Don't worry''. Lorca said.
''I am not worried. You are supposed to do the worrying. That's why I paid you so much…money?'' Mandy Myers said and Lorca smiled half-heartedly. Indeed, this woman was arrogant.
''You're right'. Lorca said ''I will make sure nothing goes wrong tonight, ma'am''.
''About that brat with Aaron Saint? Your niece or whatever, I heard her amnesia this time is quite serious. She didn't even know who Aaron Saint was and she didn't recognise Josh Saint either. That girl is quite the character, isn't she? She makes me think having amnesia is the new black these days. Going back and forth, is she an amoeba?''
''I know, right? She is really quite the character. A character I want to get rid of. But she owes me a lot of things, so I can't get rid of her now''. Lorca told Mandy Myers.
''I know. You want the passwords to all that her parents left. Isn't it?'' Lorca turned and looked at the woman in shock.
''How did you…?'' He asked and looked at Mandy Myers sceptically but he really couldn't read her face no matter how hard he tried.
''How did I know? I know a lot of things, Lorca Don Marco. Did you know? Laura Louis Marco and my daughter in law were friends? Your cousin and Liyah Myers mothers were close friends, so I know quite a lot about your family. I know about the fact that the one who made all the things your company is now producing was August Maijune and her father Anthony Elizondo''. Mandy Myer smirked.
''You seem to really know a lot about my family, Ma'am?'' Lorca asked and looked at her interestingly.
''Yes, I know quite a lot. More than you can imagine. Should I tell you something that is even more thrilling? These two girls who were never supposed to meet are even now best friends.
Whoa. Fate is indeed a cruel thing. What will they do if they were to find out about how they are related? What an interesting fate they have''. Mandy Myers looked at her watch after saying her piece.
Everything about this woman confused Lorca. But, one thing was for sure, this woman knew a lot more than she was letting out. She a smart and intelligent woman as well as a manipulative and sinister woman. If he were to get closer to such a woman, he will be able to use her brains to work but at the same time he had to be guarded because this type of person didn't do loyalty.
''Ma'am, how about we work together? I would love to have you as a business partner'' Lorca asked. Mandy Myers looked at her and smirked. The man had fallen into her trap much sooner than she thought.
''Bring me a proposal. If it is interesting enough, I might work with you. Lately, everything has been boring for me. I am looking for something interesting to humour myself with'' Mandy Myers said to Lorca daringly.
''Something interesting, I will do that Ma'am''. Lorca said.
''I will be waiting then''. The car sped off as the two characters remained quiet the rest of the way; each planning on how to exploit the other.
EDEN ESTATES.
LIYAH'S VILLA.
STORE ROOM.
Liyah opened a few boxes looking for a small box of thread. She pulled one big box out of a corner and opened it. She removed a lot of stuff from it and then saw the small box of colourful threads and exclaimed 'finally found you'. Liyah picked the small box and saw another medium metallic box inside. 'Huh, what box is this?' Liyah removed it and dusted the box and coughed.
She opened the box and saw a bundle of old photos. She picked one of the photos and looked at the picture 'when was this picture taken? Who are these people and this girl?' the picture was of Liyah's parents and Liyah herself and another couple holding a baby girl in their hands. Liyah was 7 years then in the picture.
Liyah stared at the picture trying to recollect when it was taken to no avail. 'Why don't I remember this picture?' Liyah smiled and touched the face of her mother 'Mom, I'm doing well and I'm also getting married. Look after me wherever you are'.
August Maijune entered the house and saw the store room opened. She went inside and stood by the door and knocked.
Liyah looked up and saw her and smiled.
''What are you doing there?'' Liyah asked.
''What are you doing there?'' August asked. They both laughed at their telepathy. 'What is that? How can we all ask the same question at the same time?''
Liyah put the photo back and closed the box as August walked closer to her.
''What box is that? Do these boxes even exist anymore?'' August asked and watched as Liyah put the box away and closed the bigger box. Liyah pushed the box back to the corner and picked the threads.
''Maybe, that is an old photo box my mom used to keep. One day, I will show it to you and tell you about my parents''. Liyah said as they walked out.
''Okay'' August responded happily.
Only that they both didn't know that the photo was off their parents and them when they were kids. Liyah was 7 years and August was barely 10 months old then.
