Chapter 158: Subtle flirting

DR. SAM'S HOUSE.

Dr. Sam's house was a villa with a backyard garden and this was where the welcome party for Julieta was being held. The garden was decorated with ribbons and her name was hanged everywhere.

Inside Julieta's room, Maijune sat flipping through their childhood pictures that Dr. Sam had kept hidden since the accident. He recently gave them to Julieta and she decided to show them to August Maijune. Liyah Myers was doing Julieta's hair. Julieta's dress was part of Liyah's summer collection that she planned on launching soon.

''Perfect, you look so feminine this way and beautiful'' Liyah said and turned to Maijune saying ''Julieta, you can go and sit down now. Let me attend to this naughty girl who wants to ruin this big sister's image. How could you not even apply a little makeup and even Aaron didn't say anything to you''

''Don't mention Aaron Saint's name to me. I still hate him for what he did to me'' Maijune said and stood up, exchanging seats with Julieta. She sat on the dressing table.

''Rubbing salt on us singles wounds' Julieta murmured to herself.

''What did Aaron do?'' Liyah asked curiously.

''I'm not telling you'' Maijune said and Liyah pouted.

Outside the garden.

Aaron Saint, Leo Martins and Kash France stood at a table chatting. Aaron Saint and Leo Martins noticed Kash was constantly looking at the entrance.

''Who are you looking for? Don't tell me is Julieta?'' Leo Martins asked teasingly.

''None of your business' Kash said making them laugh.

Soon Maijune and Liyah walked out with Julieta in the middle as they entered the gathered. The invited guests clapped their hands and Dr. Sam proudly went forth to take Julieta's hand. Liyah and Maijune left then to join Aaron Saint and Leo Martins.

Dr. Sam took Julieta's hand and introduced her to the invited guests one after another. Julieta who wasn't used to the crowd felt bored from having to have chat with the guests. She simply smiled not wanting to put her father in an awkward situation. He was doing his best to make her acquainted with the society and outside world so she had to also play her part.

In the middle of the introduction, she turned and locked eyes with Dr. Kash. Kash smirked at her and cocked his brows arrogantly at her and she frowned. They haven't seen each other for a week since the last time she left the villa. Julieta subconsciously checked him out. He wasn't in his doctor's coat and wore a formal blue black tuxedo and his long hair was brushed and culled backwards. He looked handsome and neat.

''Julieta'' Dr. Sam nudged at Julieta when he noticed she had paced out. Coming back to her senses, Julieta internally berated herself for even thinking about Kash in that manner.

''I must be crazy'' she murmured to herself and turned to her father with a smile.

Everyone went back to their tables as the first song played out. It was time for the father and daughter pair to have their first welcoming dance. Julieta smiled as her father took her hand taking her to the middle of the grounds. She was happy. She had only thought that a moment like this was just a far-fetched dream but now it was real. She was reunited with her father, her family. She was no longer a loner in life. She now had friends and a family.

In the middle of the dancing, she accidentally stepped on her father's leg and apologised ''father, why don't we leave it at this? I don't know how to dance and I keep stepping on your legs''

''Julieta, I don't mind'' Dr. Sam said affectionately.

''But, your leg is bound to hurt. How about we stop here for tonight. Later on, I will attend a dance class, learn how to dance and we can have a dance then?'' Julieta said worriedly. She had stepped on her father's legs a number of times now and felt bad and guilty about it.

''You promise?'' Dr. Sam asked.

''Yes, I promise'' Julieta said. With that, they ended their first dance and then the couples there now started dancing with their partners.

Dr. Sam and Julieta walked to Aaron Saint and the rest table and joined them. Julieta smiled at the men and stood next to her father.

''Dr. Kash, is being a while. I still haven't thanked you for treating my daughter. Julieta told me you took care of her while she was with August Maijune.

''Dad!!'' Julieta tried to stop her father from spilling the beans. She didn't want Dr. Kash to know she had talked about him with her father. To her, Kash was proud and would only brag about it.

''Is what I should do. Julieta was quite obedient and received her treatment in time'' Kash said and looked at Julieta daringly with a smirk.

''I will leave her in your care then. You will be her personal doctor from now onwards'' Dr. Sam said and Julieta pulled the hem of his suit and he turned and looked at her adding ''Julieta might be a little rough because of her situation but she is a good girl. She took after her mother''

''I see'' Kash said.

''I will leave you youngsters to dance. Dr. Kash, can I ask that you teach my little girl how to dance? I still have other matters to attend to'' Dr. Sam said and Julieta retorted immediately.

''Dad, he doesn't have to. We already agreed that I will take dance classes, right?'' Julieta said.

''Dr. Sam, it is my pleasure to do that'' Kash said and took Julieta's hand. He pulled her away before she could object. The rest looked at each other and shook their heads.

''My lovely wife, would you do me the honour of a dance with your handsome husband?'' Leo Martins took Liyah Myers' hand as he said that.

''Yes, my handsome husband'' Liyah Myers said and kissed him before they went away to dance leaving Maijune and Aaron Saint alone.

''Are you not going to ask me to dance with you?'' Maijune decided to ask after a while.

''Weren't you angry with me?'' Aaron Saint asked teasing her.

''And I still am, okay? Don't dance if you don't want to. There are a lot of single men here who can't wait to dance with a beauty like me'' Maijune said and Aaron Saint put his glass down and turned to face. ''What?'' Maijune asked when Aaron Saint stepped closer to her.

''Do you dare to say that again?'' Aaron Saint asked.

''Say what? The fact that I am a beauty or the fact that there are single men here wanting to dance with me?'' Maijune asked back arrogantly.

Aaron Saint smirked saying ''let's see if they have the guts to dance with the wife of Aaron Saint'' Aaron Saint leaned closer and kissed her.

Maijune flushed and pulled back saying ''what are you doing? We are in the midst of people''

''I don't mind. I just want to remind you that you are mine and only I can make you flustered, August Maijune'' Aaron Saint said and kissed her again. Their banter went on for a while and the others who watched thought they were really fighting and showing PDA at the same time.

''Are you watching a movie?'' Kash asked Julieta when he noticed her eyes were glued unto Aaron Saint and Maijune's act. Julieta looked away and her face turned red.

''I didn't know you liked such stuff?'' Kash added.

''I wasn't looking at them'' Julieta said red faced.

''I wasn't talking about then either'' Kash said shamelessly.

''I don't know how to dance. Don't say I didn't warn you. I might step on your leg'' Julieta said changing the topic.

''I am confident in my teaching skills. Wanna try?'' Kash said and tentatively wrapped his arm around Julieta's waist and pulled her closer to himself. She was not prepared and hit against his hard chest and their faces draw closer. Julieta looked at him and blushed as she bit her lips nervously.

Kash smiled and pretended as if nothing was happening between them. He looked at her and said ''follow my lead. Dancing isn't such a hard thing if you are someone who learns faster and pick things easily. I'm sure you are smart. Is actually the same way when you are fighting where you have to study your opponent's movements before you attack. Are you listening to me, Julieta?''

''Yes? I am'' Julieta said listlessly.

''Then, follow my lead'' Kash said and held her hand while his other hand remained on her waist. The background song changed to Ed Sheeran's thinking out loud.

Julieta blushed and nodded her head as she followed his steps moving back and forth, left and right to the rhythm of the song. She was rigid with her pace making her actions clumsy and cute.

''Jules, loosen up. I am not going to swallow you. we are just dancing'' Kash said and gave her a flirtatious smile. Julieta frowned and suddenly kicked his leg saying.

''I am not dancing, you playboy'' with that she stormed off at a speed and Kash stood there confused.
