That day, when Ever reached home, she emptied all her savings and gave Amber and Jade a call each for them to help her out. She needed to prepare for the competition because her self-worth depended on it. she needed to prove herself so that no one would look down on her again. She left the house with all her money in her purse and took a taxi. She met Amber and Jade in front of the giant shopping mail.

''What, you challenged your teacher and now you have to prove yourself to the class?'' Jade asked and laughed.

''Oh, so, I need your help. I want to buy a few groceries and make something. You girls will be the judges''

''Ever, you are really unpredictable. The Ever who doesn't usually say anything to correct people's opinion on her is suddenly doing this?'' Amber was surprised.

''Well, they all looked down on me. they were all making fun of me, I almost ran out of the classroom with my tail between my legs but luckily I found someone who supported me, so I can't let him down''

''Someone also supported your craziness? Ever, Miss Sharon is one of the hardest teachers to please. Do you know how many days she took cursing out the Principal when she picked your class as her homeroom? Wow, that woman is scary'' Amber said remembering how strict Miss Sharon was towards them in their first year time.

''Let's not scare her. at least we have someone whom Miss Sharon is very pleased with; Jayden, as long as we tell him to speak on your behalf, she might be lenient with you'' Jade tried to reason with Ever.

''No, this is between the three of us. I can't keep asking for Jayden's help all the time. You are already in your final year, what would I do when guys complete?''

''She is right, Jade. We can't be there to protect her all the time. Let's go in. we will help you with whatever you want''

The following day at school.

Ever arrived in her car and got down. she saw Jayden at the entrance and paused in her steps. He saw her and waved at her. a lot of the students that arrived at that time looked at them as they went inside.

''Ever, how is the preparation going on?'' he asked, walking closer to her.

''Huh? What preparation?''

''Jade told me about the competition''

''Oh, Jade really has a big mouth'' Ever mouthed and Jayden chuckled.

''Cute, let's go'' he said and took her hand walking away. Some of the students stopped to look at them as they walked away.

Ever walked into the classroom after lunchbreak and saw graffiti on her desk. She heard laughter and looked at the students. One of the girls held the graffiti spray in her hands with a sinister look.

''Ever, sit on my desk, I will get someone to clean this up''

''No, is alright Peter. It's just graffiti. The one who did this should be the one to clean it up'' Ever said looking at the girl.

''What? Is she talking to me?'' the girl asked her two friends beside her.

''I guess so'' one of her friends said.

''You want me to clean this up? Okay, stay away from Jayden and I won't disturb you''

''You are not even from this class. Why did you come here to distract the peace of this class, Heather?'' Peter asked.

''Because my father is a board member of this school and also a shareholder in Saint Group'' Heather said haughtily and Ever chuckled.

''Did she just laughed?'' Heather's friend asked looking at Ever.

''Did you just laugh at me?'' Heather went closer to Ever.

''Dad, there is someone here boasting that her father is the board member of this school and also a shareholder in your company. I want to know, just how much shares her family owns and the price she needs to pay for bullying the daughter of the owner of Kash Family Hospital'' a voice at the door made everyone to turn towards it. they saw Jayden standing at the door with the phone against his ears. he cocked his brows at Heather asking, ''what is your father's name again?''

''That is Jayden'' the students started murmuring.

Jayden walked closer to them and stood in front of Ever saying, ''she is mine and anyone who bullies her answers to me. didn't you hear the announcement? I thought I made it clear for everyone to hear it, how come you didn't hear that?'' he asked and looked at Heather.

''Ever, you are the daughter of Dr. Kash France of Kash Family Hospital?'' Peter asked surprised.

''Oh''

''Dad, you want me to deal with him any way that pleases me? Thanks, dad'' Jayden hung up and looked at Heathen. 'Are you going to start cleaning that up or do you need to receive a call from your father before?''

''I will clean it up. are we good?'' Heather said angrily.

''No, we are not good. We are just getting started. Apologise to Ever and stay away from her or I can't promise that your father will still remain the board member of this school by the time we close today''

''You want me to apologise to her? She is just a white lotus who acts all weak and harmless. Do you have any idea how many love letters she has received since reporting to school just yesterday?''

'Love letters?'' Jayden turned to Ever, 'why am I not aware of this?''

''I didn't receive any love letter'' Ever said and opened her desk. A bundle of pink letters fell out from under, she shook her head, ''I don't know anything about these letters. They weren't here before I left school yesterday''

''Ever is right. someone is playing with her. none of these letters were here before we left school'' Peter defended her.

''My boyfriend left me this morning, saying he was in love with this slut. If this isn't because she went around acting all innocent''

''Your boyfriend? Who is your boyfriend?''

''Is he the one?'' Channing pulled a boy into the class as he entered. He was also a well-known bully in the school and was among those who laughed at Ever at the park on her first day in the school.

''You again? Didn't I ask you to stay away from Ever?'' Jayden chuckled as he looked at the boy.

''Guess where I found him? He was looking at pictures he secretly took of not only our Ever but other girls. He was having a feel day by watching those pictures''''

''Are you a pervert?'' Peter asked angrily.

''What else is he, if not a pervert?'' Channing said and kicked him. He fell to his knees.

''How could you do this to me?'' Heather asked hysterically and went over to slap him.

''You still haven't apologised. You can fight each other out after I am done dealing with you both''

''Ever, I am sorry. I misunderstood you. I will bring my desk for you to use while I clean this one up'' Heather said.

''Is alright'' Ever didn't want to pursue the issue anymore.

''Let's go'' Jayden said and held Ever's hand and went out with her. Channing sighed and looked at the boy.

''You will hear from the Principal by the end of today. Aye, what a messed up kid you are'' he sounded like an elder berating a younger person.

''Thank you'' Ever said as they sat on the school bench.

''You… when will you stop been formal with me? Am I a stranger, or do you not see me as your friend?''

''No, it isn't that''

''Then, why didn't you tell me about the competition and also about the fact that you are been bullied because of me''

Ever kept her gaze down. Jayden touched her hand and she looked at him, ''Ever, I wish that you will trust me more and always tell me if anything happens to you. from the most important things to the most insignificant things in your life''

''Why?'' she asked softly as her heart fluttered at his words.

''I am still yet to figure out why I am so drawn to you, but until then. I want us to be friends, good friends''

''Okay'' she nodded her head.

''Then, friends?''

''Yes, friends''

''Since we are friends, let me help you Ever. Friends help each other right?''

''What are you going to help me with?''

Jayden removed a sheet of crumbled paper from his pocket. It was a sheet of the test they did that morning. she had scored 10/50 in it. Ever flushed and snatched the paper from him.

''Where did you find this?''

''I saw you throwing it away and I got curious, so I went to take a look''

''This is so embarrassing'' Ever murmured and frowned.

''What is embarrassing about it?''

''I was the last in my class. Can you keep this from my parents? I don't want them to be traumatised by my results''

''What are you talking about?'' Jayden chuckled. 'Don't be too hard on yourself. I think you did well though''

''Are you mocking me? You always get a perfect score on all your papers. I can't even compare myself to you''

''Don't compare yourself to me or to anyone. How about this? I will tutor you and help you with your homework and school work''

''Aren't you busy?''

''No matter how busy I am; I will always have time for you''

''Really?''

''Yes, so don't worry about anything and just trust me''
