Chapter 258: Family drama 2

Name:Love The Psycho Author:Purplebride
''Why would I be heartbroken? I don't remember telling you about my feelings?''

Everyone turned and saw Kristine and Ronald. They stood next to each other beside their car.

''Kristine'' Vera stood up with the help of Nelson as she was already seven months pregnant. Seeing Kristine had instantly brightened her gloomy mood and she was happy to see her.

''Sis in law'' Kristine hugged her almost large body carefully, not wanting to hurt her.

''I'm so glad you came. Someone was acting like the world revolved around her. It was almost like they wished that you never came at all''

Vera's voice was exactly a quite one, she had intentionally raised her voice to say those words.

''How are you, sister in law?'' Kristine scanned her up.

''I'm fine. Let's go and greet your grandpa'' Vera held her hand.

''Wait, I came with someone. Ronald…'' Kristine turned to Ronald who was just a distant away from her. Now that Vera was looking at him, she realised, she had unintentionally left him out.

''Kris, who is he?'' Vera asked curiously.

''He is my fiancé, Ronald. Ronald, this is my sister in law, Vera''

''Hi, Vera, it is nice to meet you''

''Hi, Ronald. He is so handsome, Kris'' Vera whispered to Kristine.

''We will go and greet grandpa first'' Kristine said and turned to Ronald, ''let's go and say hi to my grandpa first''

''Sure'' Ronald held her hand and they walked to the old man who was quiet all that while just watching them.

''Cousin came? I thought you wouldn't come after your wedding got called off, but it seems you found yourself another man already?'' Lucy said as her hands remained around their grandpa's left hand.

''Did I disappoint you?'' Kristine asked and turned immediately to their grandpa. She didn't give Lucy another moment of her time, ''grandpa, I came''

''Mm, I can see that. Who is this young man?''

''He is my boyfriend. I broke up with the actor. He is Ronald Mensah, a surgeon at D-City, First Hospital''

''Hi, grandpa, nice to meet you. I heard nice things about you'' Ronald said politely.

''How long have you two been together?'' Lucy asked. ''It's been just a month since you cancelled your wedding with that actor''

''You seem to be so interested in my love life. Why? It's yours so boring?'' Kristine smiled at Lucy.

''You…''

''That's enough. You two are already this old and still at each other's throat?''

''Grandpa, how are you doing?'' Kristine asked looking at the old man's thin hands.

''I'm doing well. It's good to have you here. Go and greet your mother and family members''

''Sure''

''Grandpa, I brought you something small. I couldn't come empty'' Ronald said and went back to the car and returned with a small box in a designer package bag. ''It is a clinical manufactured tonic that has passed research test and approved by DCFDB. It is a supplement for bone repair and also contains antiaging constituents''

''Really?'' the old man's face brightened up as he looked at the small box, ''how did you get this? I asked a friend who works at the research institute to get me one but he said they had run out of it''

''I'm glad you like it''

Lucy's face turned green as she looked at her fiancé who was chatting with her parents. They hadn't bought anything for her grandpa because she felt he had everything already only for Kristine to surpass her.

Even though she hated to admit it, their grandpa loved Kris more than any of them, it was also the reason why he hated her for deciding to leave the family business.

''It's just a small bottle of tonic. Grandpa, George and I can get you another one when you finish drinking this one''

Grandpa and everyone turned to look at her. Grandpa's secretary was the most shocked by her statement. He didn't know whether she was really the highly esteemed intelligent granddaughter that he had heard so much about or simply stupid. Even grandpa with his connection couldn't get one, so how was she going to be able to do that?

''Miss Amanfo, this tonic isn't sold at the market place. It was specially made and there were only 100 bottles in the world. Even with money, you might not still be able to get a hold of it''

When the secretary finished speaking, Lucy flushed and glared at Kristine.

''You shouldn't speak carelessly, Lucy'' Grandpa chastised her before looking at Ronald, ''I am satisfied with your gift. Thank you, Ronald''

''You are welcome grandpa''

''Grandpa, we will be going over to my mom''

''Sure, go ahead. I still have something to take care of inside. We shall all meet for dinner later on'' the old man said and turned back, going inside without bothering about Lucy.

''That was intentional, right? You intentional wanted to create a wedge between grandpa and I, right?'' Lucy asked Kristine as the latter turned with Ronald.

''Not everyone is like you, Lucy. Get a life, your fiancé is watching. Let's not show the guests that we are like wolves that can't stand each other. Ronald, let's go''

Lucy frowned and clutched her hands tightly. Her father went to her side.

''Calm down. if you keep losing points in front of father, you will end up losing more''

''She just keeps getting on my nerves, dad''

''There is time for everything. I did some investigations and I found out something, that man is fake''

''You mean, he and Kris are not together?''

''Yes, he is probably someone she got to play along with her''

''Dad, is that true?''

''Yes, so don't work yourself up. We still have time to expose them later on''

''Yes, I knew it. Maybe that man is even pretending to be what he is not. If we can get information on who he is and show it to grandpa, this time around, he won't forgive Kristine for lying to him, right? We can get rid of her for good'' Lucy smiled satisfactorily as she stared at Ronald and Kristine. ''Dad, can you get someone to look into that man? Let's make sure we remove that mask they are wearing on the birthday of grandpa which is in three days' time''

''I will do that''

Kristine, he is such a handsome man. I knew you had good taste'' Uncle Max said to Kristine.

''Off course, Uncle. Who am I?''

''You are pretty Kris, my favourite niece'' Uncle Max said and hugged Kristine.

''Kristine got herself a doctor. Aunt doesn't need to go to the hospital anymore, right? Cousin in law can just treat you'' Lucy said and Mrs. Kate turned to her.

''It seems that you are wishing that my mother in law should fall sick. Can I assume that you got yourself a lawyer because you want him to be able to get your family out of trouble one day?'' Vera asked looking at her.

''That's not what I meant. Aunt, I hope you don't take offense to my words'' Lucy said.

''No worries. I don't need to care about the words of a person who speaks before they think''

''Kate, mind your words. Are you suggesting that my daughter is dumb or what?'' Aunt Meg stood up angrily.

''I never said such words. They just came out of your lips right now''

''Honey, it's enough. You know you can never win against her. Sister in law. No need to be aggressive. We are all just happy that Kristine was able to find a boyfriend in such a short time after breaking her wedding with the actor'' Uncle John said sarcastically and turned to Ronald, ''I hope you don't mind about the past of Kristine.

''Not at all, since I was the one who broke her wedding in the first place'' Ronald said confidently and held Kristine's hand, ''didn't anyone tell you? I was the one who chased after her and made her change her mind about marrying that actor''

''You were the one who cancelled the wedding?'' Uncle Max asked.

''Oh, I found out he was cheating on me and I also like Ronald so I called the wedding off. Sorry I couldn't explain to you, uncle Max''

''No, it's alright. a cancelled wedding is better than divorce. I'm glad you found out early enough to step away. Let me tell you something Kristine, we don't avoid poop because it's smelly; we avoid it because it is unsightly. Don't let anyone put you down for making a decision that was good for you''

''Thank you, Uncle Max. You are the one who understands me the most''

''Uncle Max, you are the best'' Vera added and they turned to chat among themselves completely ignoring the other family.

Lucy frowned and turned to see George looking at him with a complicated gaze. She faked a smile and asked, ''why are you looking at me like that?''

''Nothing'' he said and turned away.

A few minutes later, the chief butler came out and announced that dinner was ready.
