''Because I love her. I am courting Kristine and decided to come with her because I wanted to meet her family and become more close to her. It's that such a bad thing to do?'' Ronald spoke and turned to look at everyone.

The table became silent after Vera posed that question. She simply placed her hand on her big belly and turned to Lucy.

''You already have everything, yet you don't want another person to have even a little. Since when did you become this uncultured and selfish?'' Vera asked in a sarcastic tone.

''You want to hit my wife now?'' Nelson looked at her coldly and she looked away.

''That's enough. Lucy, are you still insisting that Ronald is a fraud?'' Grandpa asked.

''Doctors are so busy these days, how is he so free to come here and spend a whole week?'' Lucy kept her stand.

''Ronald, do you have proof that you are not a fraud?'' grandpa turned to Ronald.

''Grandpa, I find this insulting to Ronald'' Kristine said angrily.

''It's alright, Kris. Let me handle this. I have someone among us who knows about my identity'' Ronald said and looked at George who was quiet all that while.

Soon as Ronald said that, everyone turned to look at George. Lucy frowned and asked George, ''George, do you know who he is?''

''Yes, I do. He is Ronald Mensah, the last son of the family of the Mensahs'' George said and looked at Ronald.

''What?'' Lucy screamed while everyone gasped. Even Kristine turned to look at him with shock.

''I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier. I was looking for the right time to tell you'' Ronald said softly to Kristine and she nodded her head.

''It's that true? Brother in law, you are from the Prestigious Mensah family?'' Vera asked.

''It just turned out that way'' Ronald answered.

''I will alert my lawyer to transfer 5% of your inheritance to Kristine'' the old man spoke.

''Grandpa'' Lucy called.

''Father'' her parents called out too.

''I am always fair in my treatment of everyone. You would have gotten 5% of Kris' inheritance, should it have been the truth'' the old man said sternly with a warning gaze that immediately shut them up.

''Kiss her'' Lucy said daringly. She was still bent on embarrassing Kristine. She was certain in her heart that there wasn't love between them. if she could prove this time, she could avert grandpa's final judgement.

''What?'' Kristine looked at Lucy.

''Are you crazy now, Lucy?'' Mrs. Kate asked angrily.

''Why? Don't you dare to kiss him? I know you, you could never stand any form of intimacy with someone you don't love. You said you were a couple. I dare you to kiss. Everyone saw George and I kiss earlier on, but you two didn't even hold hands for long''

Ronald looked at her calmly and a smirk.

''That's enough, Lucy, don't you have any respect for father who is here?'' Uncle Max shouted at Lucy.

''It's just a kiss, right?'' Kristine asked looking at Lucy.

''Kris, don't fall into her trap'' Vera said.

Everyone turned their gazes sharply towards Kristine and Ronald. Ronald stood up holding Kristine's hand and her heartbeat started increasing as she looked at him.

''Close your eyes'' he whispered into her ears and she blushed. He smiled, taking a step closer to her and wrapped his arm around her head and tilted her face slowly touching her lips with his and everyone gasped looking at them shocked.

Lucy's face turned green as she watched Kristine pulled Ronald much closer, responding to his kisses. She frowned and chuckled, 'they actually dare to kiss so passionately in front of the whole family?' she thought and bit her lips.

''Whoa. I love this boy already'' Uncle Max remarked as he watched amusingly.

Ronald slowly let go and looked at Kristine who was clearly flustered. He held her hand and turned to Lucy asking, ''is that enough for you to stop harassing my girlfriend?''

''You are crazy'' Lucy muttered out.

''Apologise to us right now. Since you intended to embarrass us in front of everyone, you should apologise to us in front of everyone'' Ronald said to her.

''That's right, you should apologise since they just proved that they don't have anything to hide. Don't tell me you have another task for them to complete?'' Vera looked at Lucy.

''Lucy, apologise to Kristine and Ronald now'' the old man said and Lucy stood up.

''I'm sorry'' she said softly.

''I didn't hear anything'' Vera said, ''that wasn't the same energy you used in trying to sabotage Kristine''

''You…'' she glared at Vera who couldn't care less about what she did.

''Apologise properly'' Uncle Max said.

''Kristine, Ronald, I am sorry''

''Excuse me, I just lost my appetite'' Kristine stood up and went ahead towards her room.

''I am going to check on Kristine'' Ronald also got up and went after Kristine.

''Lucy, you are not allowed to my birthday party. Take that time to reflect on yourself'' the old man also stood you, ''I just lost my appetite too'' he finished and Nelson stood up and helped him towards his room.

Lucy looked at her parents and George. She felt that she had been treated unfairly.

''Mom, dad. What do I do? Grandpa hates me now'' she said to her parents.

Mrs. Kate and Vera also left the table with Uncle Max.

''I will figure something out. Why did you two decide to talk when you didn't have any evidence?'' her mother scolded Lucy and her father.

''I will go to the room first'' George stood up to go.

''George, even you are abandoning me right now?''

''I'm a little disappointed in you Lucy. There are some people you shouldn't provoke. Also, I clearly told you I wasn't given the case yet, why did you tell everyone that I got the case?'' he asked her and was met with silence. He shook his head and went towards their room.

Kristine rushed into the washroom and opened the tap. She splashed water on her face and placed her hands on the sideways of the sink and sighed. Her face was still heating up. she touched her lips and looked at herself in the mirror. She placed her hand against her chest and could feel her own heartbeat.

''What is wrong with me? I hope I am not really falling for him'' she said to herself and shook her head before going out to the bedroom. She paused at the door and saw Ronald playing with his phone.

Ronald looked up and saw her and smiled. She smiled back and they heard a knock on the door. Kristine went and opened and her mother entered, 'Mum''

''Ronald, here. take a look at the childhood pictures of Kris. Let me tell you, Kris has been beautiful since early age''

''Mum, how could you show my pictures to Ronald?'' Kristine tried to snatch the album and Ronald took it away from her.

''Why can't she show them to me? I want to see how you looked when you were young''

''I will leave you two to rest for the night'' Mrs. Kate said and kissed Kris' cheek before going out.

''Look at this one, you were really cute when you were younger'' Ronald commented.

Kristine ignored him and went to the other side of the bed and laid down. Ronald put the album away before turning to face her.

''Are you not going to shower before sleeping?''

''I am not and you are sleeping on the floor''

''Whoa, is that how you thank someone who saved you just a few minutes ago?'' Ronald stood up from the bed.

''You didn't help me, You took advantage of me'' Kristine said and frowned as her back faced him. Ronald was about to say something when his phone buzzed and he answered it, going into the bathroom.

After he was gone, Kristine sat up and looked at the door. She didn't know why she was angry. her anger had no justification, she bit her lips, ''why does he have to be so sweet? I can't even hate him. I'm so annoyed because everything is fake. Even the kiss is fake''

Ronald walked out of the bathroom after the call and Kristine sized him up asking, 'who was that? You even went into the bathroom to answer the call''

''Don't worry, the caller wasn't a woman. That was my small niece'' Ronald leaned against the door and asked, ''are you jealous?''
