Chapter 268: Kody

''Hurry, tell me the details. How did it go at your place?'' Jenny loaded Kristine with questions as soon as she sat down to rest. The latter had just arrived and Jenny was the only one in the house as it was her off day.

''It went well. Much better than I thought'' Kristine reminisced on her days with Ronald and a smile appeared on her face.

''Whoa, you are glowing Kris. Are you perhaps in love with Ronald?''

''Mmm, I think so''

''Way to go, Kris. I am so proud of you'' Jenny smiled, genuinely happy for her friend.

''I will tell you the details when Chloe and Brenda returns. Right now, I am so dead tired'' Kristine stood up from the couch.

''Go and rest. I am going out to buy a few things. I will be back shortly'' Jenny said to her. she was about to go to the mall when Kristine arrived and she stayed back to chat with her for a little while before going.

Jenny went to the dining table and picked her bag and left. Kristine went and locked the door before going to her room. The last time experience with Ray had been her super conscious and she was always careful.

D-CITY AIRPORT.

A young man with a luggage backpack behind him walked out of the exit. He had long dread locks that reached to his back and in his left hand, he held a camera bag case that was filled with his camera accessories as he was a professional photographer.

This young man was Kody, the childhood friend of Jenny who had grown over the years to become a handsome lad. He was 2 years younger than Jenny.

He attracted a lot of attention with his unusual hairstyle and the way he carried himself.

A chubby man from a distance scurried over to his side panting for breath as he asked, ''please are you Mr. Kody Nelson, the photographer?''

Kody removed his shades and smiled at the man, ''that should be me'' he answered.

''I am Mark. I was asked to pick you up by the agency'' Mark said to him.

Before coming back to D-City, Kody had secured a one-month deal with an entertainment agency to work with their top artistes for a month. it was a good deal for him and part of the reason why he accepted their offer was because of a certain someone he had missed.

Now that he was thinking about her, Kody realised it had been a little over 11 years since he last saw her. He wondered what kind of person she had become. He was curious about her.

''I will go to the company tomorrow. Right now, there is somewhere I need to go first''

''Huh, but the CEO asked me to make sure you come and meet him when you touch down'' Mark began to be nervous. He couldn't fail at his first job since joining the company. He was asked to be his assistant and help him with anything that he needed so he wanted to do a good job.

''Mark, you must be the assistant that was assigned to me, right?'' Kody asked and he nodded his head.

''Yes, this is also my first job. I want to do a good job and prove that I am not just chubby for nothing''

''Don't worry, I am not one of the artistes in the agency. I won't make your work difficult but I also have my own principles. I signed a contract not a slave deal. I will call the CEO myself and tell him I can't go over today. It's the apartment ready?''

''Yes, it is ready. It is located at Global Estates, villa 2333''

''Give me the keys. I will find my way there after I go to meet someone''

''Okay'' Mark removed the access card and handed it over to Kody, ''please do call me when you arrive. I will bring you food''

''Alright, wait. Take this bag with you, my purse is enough to send me to where I am going'' Kody removed the bag and gave it to him before he walked away.

Jenny was picking some things into the carte when her phone started ringing. She placed the bag on the carte and removed the phone. It was a new number.

''Hello, yes, this is Jenny speaking. Who are you?'' her eyes lit up and she almost screamed, ''Kody. You are back? Yes, yes. I am at the Seirin Mall. Okay, I will be waiting, bye''

Jenny hung up and chuckled, ''what a way to make an entrance, Kody. This is so like you'' Jenny put the phone away and started doing her shopping in a hurried pace. She had just told Kody her location and he was coming to pick her up.

She suddenly felt jittery. It has been 11 years since they last saw each other. She wondered how he looked like.

After she was done shopping and paid for her stuff, she carried the bags outside and sat on a metal bench outside while waiting for Kody.

She suddenly thought of something and took her makeup kit from her bag to reapply her blush. She looked around and didn't see anyone coming and quickly turned towards the glass mirror by her side to apply her makeup. She finished and removed her lipstick and was about to apply when she heard a voice behind her.

''Pretty cute. Isn't this a crime? If you are pretty, then just be pretty, why do you have to be cute at the same time?'' the voice asked and Jenny's hand slipped making the lipstick to draw on her face.

''Who are you?'' Jenny was quite flustered when she turned to see the face of the man closer to her, she subconsciously stepped back and was about to hit the window when his arm circled around her waist, pulling her back.

''How have you been, little girl?'' Kody asked and Jenny's eyes widened.

''Ko… Kody?'' she blushed. The man in front of her didn't look anything like the one she had imagined in her mind. He was much better looking. She been a sucker for beautiful men couldn't stop herself from blushing when he was standing so close to her and their faces just inches apart.

''I recognised you right away. How come you didn't even make me up? I am disappointed, Jenny'' Kody finally let her go and removed a blue handkerchief from his back, 'don't move'' he said and touched her lips.

Jenny blushed as he wiped away the lipstick that had made a mark on her face.

''How do you apply lipstick like this? It's totally ruined. Give it to me'' he said to her.

''Huh? Give you what?'' she stuttered and he shook his head and took the lipstick from her hand.

''This, what is on your mind?'' He asked and started applying the lipstick carefully on her full lips after he had cleaned the first one. His actions were careful and yet skilful at the same time.

Jenny felt a strange sensation on her lips as he touched her and was about to lick her lips when he shook his head.

'Don't, you will ruin it'' he said and finally stepped back. he looked at the work he had just done and smiled, satisfied, 'perfect'' he said and handed the lipstick back to her. ''Here''

'Oh, thank you'' Jenny said and stuffed the lipstick into her bag.

'Are these yours?'' he asked and pointed at the bags on the bench.

'Oh, those are mine''

Kody picked the bags up and said to her, ''let's go then. Did you bring a car?''

'No, I don't have a car''

'I just arrived and haven't gotten a car yet, let's make do with a taxi. Let's go, I will send you home'' he said, walking away and Jenny shook her head.

She still couldn't believe she was with Kody. The 8-year-old Kody who used to run to her house and play with her. He was different and had a different vibe to him that she couldn't explain.

''What are you doing?'' he asked her after putting the bags in the booth of the taxi.

''Coming'' Jenny said and went to join in at the backseat in the taxi.

''Why are you looking at me like that?'' Kody turned to look at her and saw her blushing and he smiled, ''didn't you expect that I would be this handsome?''

''Yes'' Jenny shook her head and asked, ''I didn't mean to say that. I wanted to ask when you came back''

''You are still the same. Always speaking your mind. I came back an hour ago and decided to see you first. Are you touched by me, Jenny?''

''Mm, is good to have you back'' Jenny smiled

''Oh, what kind of welcome is that? Are you not happy to have me back?''

''I'm happy. It just feels strange, like a dream''

''Will this wake you up then?'' he asked and leaned closer to her face. He kissed her forehead and smiled.
