Chapter 15 - Stay A While Longer

Li Qin Yao clipped her phone between her ears and shoulder as her hands as she adjusted the container of durian cheesecake in her hand. She balanced the container in her left hand and grabbed her phone on her right side.

"There are a lot of cafes that provide catering in Y City, why would he employ someone from B City?" Han Yue Xiu asked from the other side of the phone.

She clicked her tongue before she handed the container in her hand to Qing Kong. "Are you looking down at my cafe? I'm telling you that this person likes food from my cafe. That's why he decided to choose us."

Han Yue Xiu laughed. "I'm not looking down on you, Yao Yao. I just thought it's strange since Y City and B City isn't exactly that near."

"It's alright. It's a forty minutes drive." Li Qin Yao shrugged. She turned to the car and picked up another stack of the container with sandwiches. "As long as they like my food and paid me money, who cares?"

"You're talking like you're desperately in need of money." Han Yue Xiu said. She heard laughter on the other line and continued. "Since your customer lives in Begonia court, I'm sure he's quite wealthy. Who cares if he decided to employ some pastry chef from France, right?"

"Yue Xiu, since I'm in Y City, Let's meet up later when I'm done setting up with everything. You still owe me a meal."

"Alright," Han Yue Xiu quickly agreed. "But will that be okay? What if Chen Hao gets get sulky when he knew that you spent your time with me?"

"We're supposed to go out today, but got canceled last minute. His mother called. He said there's an important matter at home," Li Qin Yao told her truthfully.

"It sounded like I'm only your second choice," Han Yue Xiu complained. "But, how many times had your boyfriend canceled a date because of his mother? Are you sure Chen Hao is not a mummy's boy."

Han Yue Xiu laughed at her words. "You're overthinking. His mother called him back since a relative is coming to visit them. Didn't they say that to know how a man will treat his wife, look at the way he treats his mother."

The two of them chatted for a while longer before they hung up. Li Qin Yao looked at the empty car boot and shut the boot. Then she went to look for the others to start arranging their food before the guests arrived.

While Li Qin Yao focused on arranging the desserts on the crystal's tray, Wei Jun Hao appeared before her with a smile on his face. He rapped his knuckle on the table. Li Qin Yao raised her head and met the man's gaze.

"Mister Wei," Li Qin Yao greeted with polite smile appeared on her face.

Wei Jun Hao stared at the tray with small tarts. "Your desserts look good as always."

"Thank you for your compliment. Would you like to sample one?"

He raised a brow. "Can I?"

"Of course. Since you already paid for the food, you're free to do whatever you want with them," Li Qin Yao smiled as she offered the tray of dessert to him.

Wei Jun Hao grabbed one of the tarts and took a small bite. He was not a big fan of sweet stuff. Therefore, he was glad that the pie was not too sweet. The rich and bittersweet chocolate complimented the flaky pastry. The chopped hazelnut on top enhanced the flavor and added more texture to the chocolate tart.

"How was it?" Li Qin Yao asked. She stared at him, expectantly.

"It was good." He saw the way she heaved in relief and smiled. Wei Jun Hao glanced around the room before he looked at Li Qin Yao again."I trust that there is no problem here?"

"Everything is fine," Li Qin Yao turned towards a few maids who were busy helping them arranging the food on the table. "Your maids are very helpful."

Wei Jun Hao nodded. "I know that we have agreed that you can leave once you have arranged the food, but I hope that you can stay a while longer."

Li Qin Yao hesitated. They have both agreed that her cafe will be providing some food, and his maids will then served the food to his guests, replenish the food, and clean up everything after the party ends. "That-"

He let out a small chuckle as he saw her hesitation. "I just need you to explain the food to my people so that they won't be clueless when the guests asked them. I don't think that will take too much time."

Li Qin Yao nodded once she understood his intention. "If that's the case, then, alright."
