Chapter 127 - Sweet Stuff Would Cheer You Up

Li Qin Yao pulled her hand away from Li Ming Han and walked over to Xiao Ye. From the look of it, it seemed like Xiao Ye has been waiting for her at the entrance for quite some time.

"Xiao Ye? Why are you here?" Li Qin Yao asked. She subconsciously looked around as if Zhang Yu Han was going to appear anytime soon. However, she could only see Xiao Ye carrying a luxurious looking pastel pink box in his hand.

Xiao Ye did not answer immediately. He glanced at Li Ming Han and smiled as he held up a box in his hand. "My boss instructed me to send this to you."

Li Qin Yao took the box and her eyes widened in surprise when she saw the logo on the box. She then peeked into the box and a sweet, delicious smell wafted out. Inside, there were sixteen different types of cakes.

With one glance, Li Qin Yao could see that they were exclusive desserts from The Orchid, a hotel under Zhang Group.

A shy smile curved on her lips and warmth began to spread on her heart. Although the two of them were miles apart, Zhang Yu Han had not failed to give her a surprise.

"Your boss?" Li Ming Han raised a brow. "Who is your boss?"

"Chef Qin prepared those sweets personally for you," Xiao Ye said to Li Qin Yao. "Miss Li, I hope you enjoyed the sweets."

"Chef Qin? That famous pastry chef from the Orchid?" Li Ming Han sent a questioning glance to Li Qin Yao. "I heard that it was hard to get his personally crafted desserts. And I heard that they don't actually allow people to take away their dessert… right?"

Xiao Ye continued to smile at Li Ming Han's question.

"Thank you," Li Qin Yao said to Xiao Ye. It seemed as if the two of them were not paying any attention to Li Ming Han.

"You're welcome," Xiao Ye bowed slightly. "Miss Li, if there is nothing else, then I should return first."

Li Qin Yao nodded. Then, she watched Xiao Ye walked towards his vehicle and drove off.

Beside her, Li Ming Han was still curious about Xiao Ye's appearance. He continued to give Li Qin Yao a questioning gaze and she stared at the box of dessert to avoid him. Li Qin Yao then made a mental note to give Zhang Yu Han a call once she got rid of her cousin.

Once she sensed that Li Ming Han had not given up to get an answer from her, Li Qin Yao lifted her head and smiled. "Didn't you said you were going to treat me to lunch?"

"When did I say I was going to," Li Ming Han stopped in the middle of his speech. He was going to ask about Xiao Ye and the person who sent her those desserts, but Li Ming Han could sense that he won't be getting the answer soon.

Suddenly, his lips curved into a sly smile. "How about I treat you to lunch and you give me one portion, no, two portions of that dessert?"

Li Qin Yao tightened her grip on the box. "Why do I have to give you any portion?"

"It's not like you were able to finish them all, right?" Li Ming Han sighed helplessly.

Li Qin Yao narrowed her eyes dangerously. Though there were sixteen pieces of those desserts, they were in a petite size. She could finish them all. If Li Ming Han thought that she could not finish them on one sitting, then, he was looking down on her.

"Come on. I could use those cakes and gifted it to Qing Qing. Previously, we went to The Orchid to try Chef Qin's crafts, but of course, we failed to get them. Apparently, there is a long reservation queue for Chef Qin's dessert. He won't care even if you can pay a lot of money," Li Ming Han said. "Cousin Sister, why don't you give me a chance to make my fiancee happy?"

Li Qin Yao thought about it for a while before she reluctantly agreed. "Fine. I can give you two pieces. Just think of it as my congratulatory gift. But I get to pick which one I want first."

"Whatever you say," Li Ming Han nodded. "I'm just happy that you are willing to share those desserts. Cousin Sister, thank you. Now, let's go for lunch."

The two of them had lunch together and Li Qin Yao then gave away a strawberry and white chocolate flavored dessert. But of course, not before she took a few pictures of those small desserts and posted it on her WeChat's moment.

As usual, Han Yue Xiu was the first to comment. A few friends expressed their jealousy at the box of cakes.

Once Li Qin Yao was back to her grandparent's place and went to her room. Once she was alone, Li Qin Yao made a call to her boyfriend. The call was connected within seconds after it rang.

"Is the meeting ended?"

"Hmm," Li Qin Yao nodded. "Are you busy?"

Zhang Yu Han closed the file on his desk and waved a hand to Secretary Tian to leave him alone. Then, he leaned on his chair and answered. "I'm not busy."

Secretary Tian, who was walking towards the door almost stumbled in her steps as she heard her boss' words. Director Zhang was away from the office for almost a month and he was planning to take a few days of leave next week. Recently, he had stayed in the office working overtime until almost midnight. How was he not busy?

"How was your meeting?" Zhang Yu Han asked as Secretary Tian closed the door.

"It's okay. There wasn't any issue with the directors," Li Qin Yao moved from the sofa towards the bed. "Zhang Yu Han, thank you for the cakes. But, why did you suddenly send me those cakes?"

"You sounded like you were in a bad mood last night. I thought that eating some sweet stuff would cheer you up."

Li Qin Yao thought that the sweetness from the dessert had reached her heart. Zhang Yu Han's words made her feel giddy. Li Qin Yao laid down on her bed and rolled around with a big smile on her face.

"Do you like them?"

"Un," she nodded. "I like them."

Zhang Yu Han let out a chuckle. "If you like them, I can ask Xiao Ye to send you more."

"There's no need for that. It won't be good to eat too much of them. Besides, it's not like I'm going to stay here for a long time."

"When is your flight?"

"Wednesday afternoon."

"I'll come and pick you up from the airport, alright? Then, if you're alright with it, we'll have a meal with Grandfather. The other day, he mentioned that he missed you."

Li Qin Yao was quiet as she considered Zhang Yu Han's plan. But before she could answer, Li Qin Yao could hear his voice again.

"Li Qin Yao, I," there was a brief pause. "I miss you too."
