Chapter 161 - He's My Boyfriend

Li Qin Yao frowned as she looked at Chen Hao. After meeting him in the office, she could guess that he wanted to speak to her. Because of this, she had asked Liang Sheng to see their guests out.

But who would have thought that this man would not take her hint and appear in front of them?

"Mister Chen, how can I help you?"

"Can we talk?" Chen Hao asked. Then, he glanced at Zhang Yu Han in the hope that he will take the hint to walk away, however, once he saw their intertwined hands, his expression changed. He glanced at Zhang Yu Han again before he turned to Li Qin Yao. "Yao Yao, you and Director Zhang…"

"He's my boyfriend. We're dating."

Zhang Yu Han turned his head towards Li Qin Yao. There was a mixture of surprise and happiness on his face as he heard her firm voice. Then, his gaze gradually softened. At this moment, the uncertainty he had felt earlier dissipated.

As he continued to stare at the woman beside him, a warm feeling rose in his heart.

Although he was still not confident with how Li Qin Yao felt towards him, Zhang Yu Han decided that he wanted to trust her.

Somehow, he hoped that she will not disappoint him. The woman he liked was an amazing person. He wanted to trust that the person he liked would have a great taste and judgment.

Meanwhile, Chen Hao was shocked! His hands clenched into a fist at her confirmation.

"Qin Yao," Zhang Yu Han tightened her grip on her hand and leaned closer to whisper. "I'll wait for you in my car, alright?"

Initially, Li Qin Yao wanted to reject his idea, but once she saw the look in his eyes, Li Qin Yao smiled at him and nodded. "Wait for me, alright?"

The smile on his face widened. To Zhang Yu Han, these words were a promise that she will choose to return to his side. Zhang Yu Han squeezed her hand and let go. As he walked past Chen Hao, Zhang Yu Han gave him a warning gaze.

Chen Hao shivered. He waited until he could no longer see Zhang Yu Han's silhouette before he walked over to Li Qin Yao. "Let's talk this over somewhere else."

"No. You should say whatever you want here."

"Yao Yao," Chen Hao wanted to plead.

"Mister Chen, I didn't want your fiance to find a reason to attack me later." Li Qin Yao smiled. "After all, it wouldn't be the first time she had done so."

Chen Hao frowned as he wondered what Tang Ai Ling had done behind his back. In the end, he could only stand there and spoke what was on his mind. "Yao Yao, you never told me that you're Chairman Li Ren Xin's granddaughter."

She looked at him and smiled. "Will there be any difference?"

"Of course it will be different. If I had known, then perhaps, my mother--"

Li Qin Yao chuckled as Chen Hao mentioned his mother. "I have not forgotten what your mother had said to me. The thing that she did not like about me is that my parents were divorced."

Chen Hao frowned. He knew that his mother was only saying those because she did not think that marrying Li Qin Yao would benefit anything to his future. But things are different now.

Li Qin Yao and Tang Ai Ling were worlds apart. Although Tang Ai Ling's family could be said wealthy in B City, her family was nothing as compared to Li Qin Yao's. Not to mention QL's wealth, Chen Hao knew that QL had more connections than the Tang family have.

"Whether I am Li Ren Xin's granddaughter or not, we still won't end up together," Li Qin Yao continued. "Because Chen Hao, you and I, it was not about my status as someone's granddaughter. It was just that we both gave up on our relationship."

Chen Hao felt as if something had stuck in his throat. Slowly, he tilted his head down to avoid Li Qin Yao's gaze.

Didn't their relationship failed because he was the one who chose to listen to his mother?

But still, Chen Hao thought that Li Qin Yao was not being truthful to him. If she had told him earlier, then his mother will not reject their relationship.

Noticing that Li Qin Yao was about to leave, Chen Hao grabbed her arm to stop her. "You still could have told me."

Li Qin Yao turned around and laughed. "Chen Hao, you're so funny. During the period when we're dating, have you ever told me anything about your grandparents? Why do you think that it was important for me to casually mention mine? In the end, did you date me for me, of for my grandparents?"

"Yao Yao," Chen Hao spoke in a soft voice. "Let's give us another try, alright? This time, I will convince my mother. This time, I will fight for you."

"What's past is past. Let's just leave it that way. Now," Li Qin Yao swallowed before she looked at Chen Hao sharply. "Can you let me go?"

Facing her gaze, Chen Hao loosened her grip on her arms and watched her leave. A few steps away, Chen Hao clenched his fist and said, "In the end, Yao Yao, you never really loved me, do you?"

Li Qin Yao paused at her tracks when she heard the question. She turned and stared at the man in front of her with a sad expression.

To think that he would still doubt her, blamed her...

Suddenly, Li Qin Yao felt that she no longer know this man. Chen Hao was no longer the man she dated previously.

Li Qin Yao decided not to answer his question and walked away to find Zhang Yu Han.

As she was approaching the black Cayenne, Zhang Yu Han got off the car to help her with the door. Li Qin Yao stared at him in a daze and felt as if a heavy burden was lifted off her shoulder.

"Qin Yao, are you alright?"

"Hmm," Li Qin Yao gave him a weak nod. She then took a step towards Zhang Yu Han and leaned her head and half of her body on his chest. "Just a little bit exhausted. Zhang Yu Han, you're too tall, so I couldn't say to lend your shoulder for me. I can only ask you to lend me your chest. Let me rest for a while, alright?"

Zhang Yu Han let out a chuckle. It took him seconds before he could respond and pulled her body closer into a hug. One arm encircled around her waist, and another was patting her back softly as if to coax her. Just like that, the two of them stood at the side silently for a while.

Once she felt as if her energy was back, Li Qin Yao spoke in a low voice. "Zhang Yu Han, I'm hungry."

Zhang Yu Han smiled. He pulled away and looked at her with a wide smile on his face. "Then, let's eat. What do you want to eat?"
