A few long seconds passed, and the sound of footsteps sounded again.
"You retreat first and get out of here quickly."
Fading away.
Qiao Nian breathed a sigh of relief and heard the chaotic footsteps outside accompanied by a noisy gun battle, followed by the fierce footsteps of people in black from the Rose Mansion.
"Quick, find someone."
"We must find Count Reims."
"The Ten Elders ordered us to protect the count's safety!"
Qiao Nian was still hiding in the dark room. Judging from the roar of people outside, her way out was blocked.
She can't meet her 'old friends' yet.
Qiao Nian pressed her eyebrows irritably, with surly eyes. She released her grip on his wrist, casually took out a miniature smoke bomb prepared just in case, and planned to force her way in.
Who knew that the man behind her noticed her intention and gently rubbed her wrist bones, as if to reassure her to calm down.
Qiao Nian tried to look back again.
She didn't want to take the opportunity to see his appearance clearly this time, she simply followed her instincts and turned around subconsciously.
But the man behind her still didn't give her this chance. She didn't know that this man had touched the mechanism button there, and she only felt her body falling rapidly.
Less than a minute.
The small space they were in stopped falling, and dazzling white light shone in from the outside. Qiao Nian instinctively narrowed her eyes to block the light.
There was a gentle pushing sensation from behind.
She was pushed out without any preparation...waiting for her to slowly look back.
The black secret door had been closed long ago. I don't know if the man was still inside or if he had returned to the room upstairs.
Driven by an unprecedented impulse, Qiao Nian even wanted to go up and dig out his figure hidden in the darkness to see what the face he was hiding from others looked like!
Several oncoming footsteps interrupted her urge to act.
"Mo Di is so brave! He's not afraid of Shi Lao finding out."
It was Dowell's voice.
Brown said grimly: "He won't let anyone find out."
Dowell gritted his teeth: "Of course I know he must have found a dead soldier to do it, but does this thing require a confession? Is there anyone here who doesn't know that he did it! You don't know? I don't know yet? Or Shadow Ten I don’t know, the Shadow Family doesn’t know, or the Ten Elders don’t know?”
Brown had a headache from his croaking. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a woman walking towards them in the corner, and was attracted to her.
Dowell didn't pay attention to his surroundings and was still talking to himself: "I think he is really crazy. How did his father die? He still kept a low profile and tried to take advantage of the chaos to murder Theron. That person who is dozens of people above this position Nian, what kind of character is it that is easy to get along with? I have always felt that the blood of a madman flows in their bones. The madman is inhumane, and he will not pity his father who just died."
"There's someone." Before Brown could stop him, he heard his little mouth whispering a lot of secrets. He frowned and pulled him, and subconsciously glanced at the "pedestrians" passing by.
Only then did Dowell notice that someone was passing them in the corner, his face suddenly turned an inch white, and he nervously pulled Brown's arm.
"Wocao, didn't she hear that?"
"have no idea."
Brown turned around and followed the woman's leaving back with his eyes, wondering what he was thinking.
Dowell noticed his abnormal behavior from his startled reaction, and turned around to look over: "What are you doing? What are you looking at?" (End of Chapter)
