2349 Bumped Into Feng Yu
In the lecture theater of the Level 5 laboratory.
Gu Hengbo was standing on the podium, explaining the knowledge related to physics experiments to the people in the classroom with a solemn expression.
He was finishing a learning point.
The people below were taking notes.
Gu Hengbo wrote the laboratory’s upcoming project arrangements on the blackboard with chalk. Then, he nimbly threw the chalk on the table, picked up the thermos flask, unscrewed the cap, and slowly said, “This is the laboratory’s arrangement for the next half a year. Take a look at the assigned projects yourselves.”
There was an uproar in the lecture theater.
“I’ve been assigned to quantum control and measurement.”
“Wow, you’re so lucky. This is the largest research project in our Level 5 laboratory in the second half of the year. It’s said to be the latest scientific research direction of the person in charge. If you do it well, you might be able to make a name for yourself after the results are published.”
“Yeah, that’s what I thought.”
In the last row of the lecture theater.
A woman in her early thirties looked coldly at the experimental arrangements Gu Hengbo wrote on the blackboard. As expected, she saw her name listed in an unpopular project.
Expressionless, she lowered her eyes and pushed her black-framed glasses up the bridge of her nose to hide her depression.
Her friend quietly nudged her with her elbow and said in a low voice, “Bai Hui, why are you arranged to be in the corner laboratory again? Aren’t they too much? Do you want me to speak to the person in charge? You’re so skilled. Why should you be in an unpopular project every time? This is too much!”
The woman’s expression became even colder when her friend mentioned Gu Hengbo. She even started to pack her things. “Don’t look for those people. It’s useless.”
Confused, her friend grabbed her hand. “It’s useless for me to look for the person in charge? There’s such a good opportunity today. The person in charge is also here. Let’s tell him. He’ll definitely stand up for you.”
Bai Hui’s hand was suddenly grabbed by her, and she could not pack her things.
Facing her friend’s sincere gaze, she was like a ball that had been stretched to the extreme, as if it would explode in the next second. Suddenly shaking off her friend’s hand, she anxiously and impatiently said, “What do you know? Looking for him is the most useless!”
“Bai Hui.” Her friend looked at her in disbelief, as if she was hurt.
The woman was stung by her hurt gaze and quickly avoided her gaze. She lowered her head and said, after a moment of silence, “I’m sorry. I’m in a bad mood.”
“I-It’s fine.”
Bai Hui quickly apologized. Then, she packed her things and quickly left the lecture theater.
Gu Hengbo saw someone leave through the back door and only retracted his gaze casually, as if he did not remember that person at all.
Bai Hui bumped into Feng Yu as she walked out of the lecture theater.
She silently stepped aside and greeted him in a low voice, “Dean.”
Feng Yu nodded. He still had something on his mind, so he only nodded gently before continuing on his way.
The woman stood there in a daze for two seconds when she saw that he left so quickly. Not knowing what she was thinking, she clenched her fists and mustered her courage for a moment.
But soon, her eyes dimmed again. She pursed her lips, turned around silently, and walked in the opposite direction.
