Chapter 88: Arrival in Tiancheng City; Yang Wei and Wu Fengtian's Grand Entrance. Next Stop, Huo Pill Pavilion.
Linwu Kingdom.
It boasts breathtaking natural landscapes with lush forests, meandering rivers, and fertile farmlands. The region has a rich cultural heritage and hosts numerous sects, academies, and clans dedicated to cultivation and martial arts.
Its capital is Tiancheng City.
A bustling metropolis featuring towering pagodas, lively marketplaces, and lavish palaces. Serving as both the political and economic center, Tiancheng City is also a cultivation hub, drawing talented cultivators from all corners.
Yang Wei and Wu Fengtian arrived here on their Spirit Horses – special mounts for cultivators, though they're a pricey luxury affordable only to few middle-class and all upper-class sects. Lower-class sects, unfortunately, have to make do with donkeys or Land Crawlers – reptilian creatures built for endurance, though they might be more likely to kill you before you even reach your destination.
Wu Fengtian hopped off his spirited horse, stretching his arms wide, relishing the fresh air. Exhaling contentedly, he exclaimed, "Finally, Tiancheng City welcomes us!" He glanced at Yang Wei, awaiting his thoughts.
Seated on his spirit horse, Yang Wei, stroking his chin, gazed at the city walls adorned with countless arrays.
I could've easily flown here or used my [Spatial Magic] to transport us, but relying on spirit horses feels like the most sensible choice until I fully understand how this world works. I've stocked my storage pouch with enough supplies to last over a month; not sure how long I'll stick around. Whoof, Mu Lin and Huo Yue will be quite furious when they find out I left without telling them anything...
"Quite elegant," he remarked, dismounting and securing his horse.
Observing Yang Wei's attire, Wu Fengtian complimented, "You look dashing in those Heavenly Phoenix Feather Robes, Senior Brother. Saved for this occasion, perhaps?"
Yang Wei, holding the reins, nonchalantly retrieved his folding fan from his cloth belt, unfolding it with flair. "Forget that. Let's explore the city," he declared with a proud smile.
Nodding, Wu Fengtian took the reins of his spirit horse, and the duo entered the city.
Guards at the border bowed in respect, whispering, "Cultivators from the great Dragon Blossom Sect."
Yang Wei and Wu Fengtian left their horses under the guards' care and strolled into the Capital City.
Yang Wei, fanning himself with a flourish, wore a mild smile as he proudly walked, attracting attention. Wu Fengtian followed suit, reveling in the shared limelight, acknowledging Yang Wei's prominence.
Whispers and admiring glances accompanied their entrance.
"These cultivators are from the Dragon Blossom Sect!"
"Wow, look at those robes of his, without a doubt he must be an Honored Disciple of the sect."
"A man? That's a fat lie!"
Wu Fengtian chuckled, explaining, "Yeah, she was originally from the Dragon Blossom Sect. But, she left at some point to set up her own Pill Pavilion, and now she's well-known all across Tiancheng City."
"Interesting."
They strolled and continued chatting.
"Fun fact," Wu Fengtian called to Yang Wei's attention. "I briefly studied under Pill Master Huo during the time I was preparing for my Apothecary Mastership exams."
Yang Wei, fan elegantly in hand, closed his eyes and remarked, "So, that's why you call Huo Yue your Shijie."
"Haha, yes."
Yang Wei gathered dragon vein Qi in his hand, then condensed a dragon sword. Stepping on the blade's flat side which was a few inches above ground, he said, "Let's go then."
Wu Fengtian unsheathed his jian, "Alright then, follow me." He soared into the skies on his jian.
Yang Wei folded his fan, taking off on his dragon sword just behind Wu Fengtian.
...
Soon, they arrived.
"Look, we're already there!" Wu Fengtian shouted as he pointed down.
Through the few clouds in the skies that blocked them, Yang Wei could see the Huo Pill Pavilion. "Hm?" he uttered.
The Huo Pill Pavilion.
It is located in the heart of Tiancheng City, nestled between the towering pagodas and vibrant marketplaces.
It is a revered institution.
Found on the east side, it's easy to spot with its ornate golden gates featuring dragon carvings. The pavilion itself is majestic, surrounded by a garden filled with rare herbs and exotic flowers.
"I'm sure she'll be happy to meet you! She loves bright minds!" Wu Fengtian said.
Yang Wei raised an eyebrow, "As long as she has manners, I doubt we'll have any problems."
What am I even saying... are cultivators even capable of manners? Sigh~
