It was a fresh morning after the accommodation issue from the night before. With the sun shining bright and early, a bunch of disciples had gathered outside from all Five Peaks of the sect, eager to catch a glimpse of their esteemed Senior Brother. Some beauties from the White Serpent Sect were also among them, hoping to see Yang Wei.
A few were even trying to climb the gate and fence just to get into the courtyard. You could tell by the numerous scrolls in their hands that they either brought gifts for him or wanted him to explain something to them.
Then, the door swung open, and all the disciples erupted into shouts.
"IT'S SENIOR BROTHER YANG! HE'S HERE!"
The excitement was so intense that one disciple even convulsed and foamed at the mouth before passing out.
But their excitement quickly turned to disappointment when they realized it wasn't Yang Wei after all—it was Huo Yue.
Huo Yue bowed her head politely and greeted them, "Greetings, fellow disciples."
While some were calmed by her presence given she was a beautiful woman, others were more interested in seeing Yang Wei.
One bold junior disciple spoke up, "We want to see Senior Brother Yang, not you!"
Huo Yue remained composed and replied, "Instead of coming here to disturb Junior Brother, it'd be better if we all prayed for him and wished him well."
Confusion swept through the crowd at her words.
"Wish him well?"
"Pray for him? Why would we ever do that?"
Another junior disciple piped up, "Why is that, Senior Sister?"
Huo Yue explained, "It seems Junior Brother has acquired an inheritance directly from one of the benevolent matriarchs of our sect and has journeyed out to the Hēi Lóng Mountains to awaken this inheritance."
Upon hearing this news, they realized Yang Wei wouldn't be back for roughly a week. However, instead of being angry or disappointed, they were glad that he was finally getting his inheritance.
"Great!"
"I'm so happy for Senior Brother, I could even cry!"
Wow, quasi-Spirit Gathering realm? He's made a lot of progress. I wouldn't be lying if I said he's grown even more muscular than before. When I felt his chest against my body it was so...
Her fairly deep thoughts made her space out a bit, and Yang Wei had to snap his fingers in front of her several times before she regained some awareness.
"Shūjie?"
"Uh-huh, what's the matter?"
"You spaced out for a moment."
"Oh." She quickly composed herself and asked a question, "Couldn't you just awaken it here in the courtyard? The Hēi Lóng Mountains sound too... extreme."
Yang Wei shook his head. "I need a pure and rich source of dragon vein Qi to unlock the scroll, and the ley lines in the sect aren't pure enough."
Huo Yue snapped her fingers as if struck by a brilliant idea, suggesting to him, "If you're looking for a pure source, why not use one of the cave abodes in the Dragon Vein Spirit Pool?"
Yang Wei placed a hand on her head, gently rubbing the top, and replied, "Nice try, but I've already considered that. I'm not sure how this inheritance might react when I awaken it, so it's best I'm not around anyone."
"Hmnn..." Huo Yue frowned, lowering her head, and muttered, "Okay, fine..."
Yang Wei patted her head reassuringly and said, "Don't worry, I'll be back soon." He then held her head with both hands, and leaned in to plant a small kiss on her forehead. "Thank you for being the first to come see me."
Huo Yue's cheeks turned a bit red, and then she wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly. Her huge melons pressed against him, feeling soft and heavy. "It's unfair you have to leave again after being gone for nearly two months," she murmured.
Yang Wei chuckled, teasing, "Do you really miss me that much?"
He was trying to tease her, but he was certain the tease didn't work when she told him, "Of course I do. We haven't even gotten to do anything special." Huo Yue was a mature woman, sincere about her feelings. So in a serious situation, whether or not Yang Wei was teasing her, she'd speak the truth about how she felt quite often.
After gently breaking the hug, Yang Wei donned a white hooded cloak over his plain blue and white robes. He smiled at Huo Yue and said, "Well, I should get going now. I'm sure you'll know when I've awakened my inheritance."
"Really?" Huo Yue asked, tilting her head.
Yang Wei nodded and prepared to leave, saying, "A few of my junior disciples might come here hoping for me to teach them something, so could you watch over the house while I'm gone?"
Huo Yue smiled mischievously and replied, "Of course, but it'll cost you..."
Yang Wei chuckled and shook his head gently. "We'll talk more when I get back," he promised before departing.
