Chapter 82.2

The scene that s.h.i.+n and others continuously killing devils flashed into the mind of the devils’ head .  

This guy was surely the master of s.h.i.+n and others .

Devils had encountered the elders of the enemies who they should avoid .

“Ah…” (Devils)

The frightened devils were trying to escape from the battleground .

However…

“Do you think I will let you go?” (Merlin)

The Wall of Fire hindered the devils from running away .

“So hot!” (Devils)

Facing the super hot wall, devils hesitated about smas.h.i.+ng against it .

However, because of the hesitation, they were killed .

“The war has ended!” (Merlin)

The blue-and-white flames were no longer as small as pellets, instead, they had become spears, impaling devils on them .

“d.a.m.n it! d.a.m.n it!” (Devils)

The devils being impaled on spears fell to the ground and were burned into ashes .

All the devils trying to attack countries were eliminated .

There came Merlin and Melinda’s relaxed conversation . They had the overwhelming advantage over devils throughout the battle and subjugated them without throwing themselves into a dangerous situation .

“You used fire magic only as you always do . You have really bad taste . ” (Melinda)

“Melinda, should you treat the man who have subjugated the devils in this way?” (Merlin)

“Humph! Are you proud of yourself for killing such weak devils?” (Melinda)

“Well, you are right . Hey, it’s over!” (Merlin)

Their conversation was by no means like the one people should have after killing devils that imperilled all mankind . They declared to the soldiers being stunned by their fight that the battle was over .

Soldiers who had watched Merlin, a living legend, fighting with devils for the first time, gradually recovered . Then…

“Ah! Sage! Guru!” (Soldiers)

Soldiers burst into tremendous cheers .

One man called Merlin amid the cheers .

“Grandfather!” (s.h.i.+n)

Because of his grandfather in the reserve corps, the remaining devils were finally eliminated .

Grandfather used his best magic – Fire magic .

Besides, grandfather’s magic had the same blue-and-white flames as my magic’s .

As my grandfather, he always kept improving his skills .

In the battle with devils, he always had the overwhelming advantage .

Those who saw Grandpa fighting for the first time were also shocked by the sight .

“You deserve to be s.h.i.+n’s grandfather . ” (Maria)

“Yes . He is indeed powerful, no wonder he was called the magician of Red Lotus . His fire magic is quite awesome . ” (August)

“The magician of Red Lotus?” (Others)

Maria and August expressed their admiration for Merlin . However, August seemed to have said something that attracted others’ attention .  

“What? You don’t know? Before becoming a sage, Merlin was so excel in fire magic that he was called the magician of Red Lotus . ” (August)

“I see… How do you know that?” (s.h.i.+n)

“It was recorded in Merlin’s Hero’s Story . ” (August)

Everyone nodded in agreement with August’s words .

I hadn’t read it yet because I would be bashful in reading legends of heroes in my family .

However, going to my grandfather and others quickly seemed more important .

I flew over the head of the reserve corps, saying h.e.l.lo to my grandparents .

“Grandpa!” (s.h.i.+n)

“Oh? s.h.i.+n . ” (Merlin)

“Why do you arrive so late? What have you done?” (Melinda)

“Oh! Sorry, grandma!” (s.h.i.+n)

I was scolded by my grandma after greeting them .

Because I had thrown everybody in danger .

“Please wait a moment, Melinda . s.h.i.+n has done a very good job . It was because someone took action in advance that caused this trouble . ” (August)

“Your Highness, the ordinary people can’t understand the truth . The only thing that matters to them is that devils has escaped . ” (August)

It was true . People present at that time supposed that they had no way to change the public’s idea .

The unsuspecting people focused more on our release of devils .  

“You’ve mishandled this dangerous situation . Was there anyone who contact Earls.h.i.+de?” (Melinda)

“Oh…” (s.h.i.+n)

We all focused on chasing the devils and forgot to inform Earls.h.i.+de .

In fact, it was Brother Siegfried and others who were responsible for contacting Earls.h.i.+de, not us .

“You didn’t meet the Earls.h.i.+de Army midway, did you? Didn’t you feel something strange?” (Melinda)

“We tried our best to chase devils, so we didn’t feel anything strange at all…” (s.h.i.+n)

“Your Highness, you are the leader of our team . You should always remain calm . ” (August)

“OK . I’m really sorry!” (s.h.i.+n)

If I had noticed halfway that we didn’t meet the Earls.h.i.+de Army and sent someone to find them, I could ask them for information .

In this way, I should had known devils’ right direction to escape and subjugated them before they arrived here .

“You can also send someone to Earls.h.i.+de to alert the Earls.h.i.+de Army . ” (Melinda)

“Well, I see…” (s.h.i.+n)

Because I didn’t give them the wireless communication device… I got into this dead end .

It was exactly as you said . Earls.h.i.+de could communicate with its army . You could let them to do that .  

It was totally unexpected .

“s.h.i.+n, why didn’t your wireless communication device work?” (Melinda)

“Because it is a semi-finished product . It doesn’t have enough channels . ” (s.h.i.+n)

“Obviously, you can communicate with each other with the device . Why didn’t you give it to the Earls.h.i.+de Army?” (Melinda)
