Those were the names displayed under each teams.

A weird glint flashed through Harry's eyes, as he caught sight of a familiar name in the tabs.

'So Trent's team is going to be the first to compete... let's see how this goes.' Harry thought, the edges of his lips curving into a slight smile.

Susan eyes also squinted slightly as she stared at the names displayed on the hologram.

'Trent... so that arrogant brat's team is going first.' She thought, however, her actions contradicted her thoughts as she put the card away and focused on the stage.

While Trent might be annoying, he was still an elite student, and from what she knew, his mana core had gone up one stage, and his power had risen to new levels.

She was curious to see his full strength, even though she doubted he would show much of it in this team event.

After a few seconds, the huge yellow hologram finally disappeared, causing everyone's focus on come back to the stage.

A few minutes later.

Trent walked into the stage with a slight frown on his face. He wasn't alone though, his supposed team mates were also walking into the stage from other areas.

His light brown hair swayed gently in the wind, and his eyes carried a tinge of disdain as he stared at the four members of his team.

If possible, he would rather participate in this stage alone, rather than choose a bunch of weaklings as teammates.

Unfortunately, he had no choice but to enter with a team, so he simply selected a bunch of students randomly and made them his team mates.

'I just feel so annoyed... these days everything's been really annoying.' Trent mumbled in his thoughts, the frown on his face deepening further.

He moved towards the left end of the stage, where the green flag was positioned.

His teammates also positioned themselves in the left domain, however, they all made sure to keep their distance.

The aura Trent was giving off wasn't a good one and even a blind man would know that he was in a terrible mood. Knowing his character, they had no intention of even coming close to him, lest they incur his wrath.

The only thing that made them happy was that being in the same team with Trent more or less guaranteed their entry into the next stage.

His opponents' team also positioned themselves in their domain, with their faces dripping with unease and nervousness.

The fact that they were facing against an elite student, especially one like Trent made them nervous, and they couldn't help but curse their bad luck.

All of them were stage one Elementalists, with the strongest being a peak stage one Elementalist, none of them stood any chance against a stage three Elementalist, especially one as talented as Trent.

After the two teams had fully gotten into their positions, the instructor's voice boomed around the hall.

[And let the flag-hunting competition, begin!]

Immediately, Trent stepped forwards. His eyes locked unto the other team and the edges of his lips curved into a slight smile.

"Let's just end this quickly." He muttered, before stretching his hand forward.

"You're all useless anyway." He said, referring to the members of his team.

Suddenly, a huge amount of mana gathered in front of his palm, before extending rapidly to his surroundings.

The huge amount of density of the mana surroundings Trent choked his teammates, and they subconsciously stepped backwards while opening their mouths in awe.

'We are both third year students... but he's a lot stronger!' Jane, a tall girl with long brown hair thought, before hissing to herself.

Within seconds, numerous blades made purely of wind appeared all around Trent, each one filled with a terrifying amount of mana.

"Blade Barrage!" He shouted, the smile on his lips widening even more. Following his words, all the blades floating around him immediately shot towards the other team's domain with terrifying speed.

Swoosh!!!!

Swoosh!!

Swoosh!!

A loud, overlapping sound of blades cutting through the air sounded in the air.

The faces of members of Team 20 paled in fear as they watched the seemingly endless number of blades closing in on them.

Some of them immediately tried to activate their defensive spells, but before they could even chant it, the blades closed in on them, slicing them and giving them cuts on different parts of their bodies.

Before they could even recover from one wound, another cut had already appeared and all they could do was scream and cry in pain.

They all groaned and screamed in pain, as they fell to the ground, with blood bleeding from the numerous wounds they had sustained from the attack.

Despite the large number of blades that was released on them, surprisingly, none of the blades hit any vital areas on their bodies.

However, they still sustained injuries around their arms and legs, and the pain from the wounds made it so that they couldn't stand on their feet, talk less of walk.

It seemed like Trent had controlled the spell and made it so that it wouldn't end their lives and only completely incapacitate them.

The audience watching this sight were shocked as they watched their fellow schoolmates grovel in pain on the floor.

Some of them started raising their voices in displeasure, feeling that Trent should be disqualified for what he just did.

However, Trent didn't pay any attention to them. How the audience perceived him didn't really matter to him, he had never cared about his reputation and wouldn't start caring now.

He simply started walking towards the other team's domain with a slight smile on his face.

He let out a low exhale, and the smile on his face turned into a slight frown. 'My control over that spell has definitely improved, but it's still not enough.' Trent thought.

The time he spent chanting the spell was too much, and he felt like he should still be able to shorten it, and cast it a lot more fluidly.

Meanwhile, among the audience, Harry's eyes widened slightly as he watched Trent.

'That spell that he used, it's definitely Blade barrage.' Harry said to himself. It was the same tier three spell he found by chance in the spell library few months ago, it seemed like Trent was the one who left the spell there.

"Wind Steps." He muttered, and a large amount of wind fluttered around his legs before he suddenly dashed towards the red flag in the distance.

With his increased speed, he reached the flag in no time, grabbing it and uprooting it from the ground.

The flag was stained with blood, but Trent didn't care and simply held the handle.

However, just as he was about to start moving back to his domain, his eyes suddenly widened as he picked up something flying towards him at rapid speed.
