Chapter 54 Wrong place at the wrong time? or Right place at right time?
Zhang Wei's eyes widened slightly as he gazed at the A-16 nameplate in front of him, but it wasn't until he turned his gaze towards the large double-storey mansion behind it that his heart truly skipped a beat.
Behind the towering gates stood a vast and pristine lawn, adorned with a grand water fountain that sparkled in the sunlight. A separate garage stood majestically in the corner, perfectly complementing the already stunning view.
It was only then that Zhang Wei realized that this wasn't even the top mansion in the area. He couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy as he realized that there were people above him who were richer and more powerful.
Just as he was lost in thought, his attention was suddenly caught by the owner of the mansion, Leng Yan. She walked towards him with an air of quiet pretended confidence, ignoring the curious glances of the security personnel.
Knowing that she was faking it all, filled Zhang Wei with delight and his mood turned for better.
As they approached the main gate, Leng Yan turned to Zhang Wei with a stern glare. "Don't make any noise! Mei must be sleeping," she warned him firmly before inserting the key into the lock.
Leng Yan's heart raced as she turned the key, opening the lock. There was always a possibility that Leng Mei was awake, and if she saw them together, Leng Yan didn't know how she would explain herself. She felt a wave of shame wash over her as she remembered Zhang Wei's ulterior motives.
Taking a deep breath, she sighed heavily. 'To think that I invited him to our house,' she thought to herself. She had suggested they go to a hotel since Mei was sleeping, but Zhang Wei had insisted on coming to the mansion.
At this point, Leng Yan had accepted her fate. There was no running away from this situation. She just had to face the consequences of her actions.
Leng Yan's heart was beating fast as she unlocked the gate and pulled Zhang Wei inside.
She dragged him up the stairs to her room, making sure he couldn't look around too much.
Leng Yan let out a relieved sigh as she closed the door behind them.
Her eyes darted to Zhang Wei with a complicated expression, feeling like a thief who had snuck her boyfriend into her private space.
She couldn't dwell on it any longer, so she blurted out, "I need to take a shower. Please don't leave the room," emphasizing the word 'please' before rushing into the bathroom.
Leng Yan didn't know what to do next.
She just needed time to collect her thoughts, and the shower was the easiest excuse she could think of.
Meanwhile, Zhang Wei scanned her room eagerly, searching for something interesting.
His eyes landed on a pair of handguns that caught his attention, but other than that, there wasn't much to see in her room.
It appeared as if Leng Yan rarely used the space, as everything was untouched and unmoved. Zhang Wei couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.
He had hoped to get a glimpse into her private life.
Leng Yan turned on the tap and allowed the water to run, her mind racing with thoughts of what to do next.
She couldn't help but feel a sense of panic rising within her as she thought about the daunting situation she was in.
Her eyes darted around the room, searching for a way out, but she knew it was futile.
The slave seal bound her to this place, and there was no escape.
As she pondered her options, she couldn't shake the feeling of being watched.
She turned around to find Zhang Wei, her eyes scanning every inch of the bathroom.
Finally she sighed in relief, as there was no trace of Zhang Wei around, and she can sort out her thoughts in peace.
She thought to run outside from windows, but she knew due to slave seal, her plan was bound to fail.
Thus she started thinking of how to face the current situation without making her look like a terrible victim or an twenty three year old Virgin.
She can't help but think what was Zhang Wei was doing?
Was he judging her for her lack of personal belongings?
Was he disappointed in her like she was in herself?
She shook her head, trying to push the thoughts away.
She needed to focus on the task at hand and figure out what to do next.
Meanwhile, Zhang Wei's eyes continued to roam around the room, taking in every detail.
He couldn't resist the urge to snoop around, even though he knew he shouldn't.
He felt a sense of power as he looked at his slave property, as her master her property should be his as well, thus he uncerimonously touched and observed eveything he can find.
He was in control, and he liked it.
Suddenly, a noise caught his attention, and his heart skipped a beat.
He slowly made his way towards the closet, his hand hovering over the door handle.
He took a deep breath, his pulse racing, and opened the door.
But to his disappointment, there was nothing there.
He couldn't help but feel frustrated as he closed the door and turned his attention back to the handguns.
They were the only interesting things in the room, so he played around with them, admiring their sleek design and deadly potential.
After a while, he let out a deep sigh and left the room, feeling restless and aimless.
He wandered through the vast mansion, his footsteps echoing on the marble floors as he searched for something to occupy his mind.
[The host, I thought she told you not to leave the room], the system reminded him, interrupting his thoughts as he reached the kitchen.
Zhang Wei shrugged, feeling annoyed by the system's comments. 'People say a lot of bullshit. That doesn't mean I need to follow it,' he replied gruffly before climbing the stairs once again.
The system didn't know whether Zhang Wei's words were for Leng Yan or for it. All it could do was observe in silence as Zhang Wei continued to attract trouble.
As Zhang Wei approached Leng Yan's room, his eyes fell on the door of the room next to hers.
He hesitated for a moment, knowing he shouldn't open it, but his curiosity got the better of him.
He moved in front of the door, feeling a strange pull towards the room as if it was calling out to him.
[What are you trying to do, host?] the system asked, sounding concerned.
Zhang Wei was the kind of person who always let his intrusive thoughts win.
He knew he shouldn't open the door.
After all, if it belonged to Leng Mei, he would get in a lot of trouble.
Yet he couldn't resist the urge, as if the melodies from within were seducing him to come in.
His heart pounding in his chest, he reached for the doorknob and twisted it slowly.
With a soft click, the door opened, and a sliver of light shone through the crack, signaling that the occupant of the room was awake.
The rest of the door swung open by itself, revealing a mesmerizing sight to Zhang Wei's eyes.
The room was bathed in a warm, golden glow, and the walls were decorated with intricate patterns and swirling designs.
The air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers, and the sound of soft, soothing music filled his ears.
At this moment, Zhang Wei could only nod his head in approval, as if it was all worth it.
He had arrived at the right place at the right time...
