Chapter 59 Zhang Wei tired of Playing around with Leng Mei?
15th March, 2023
Leng Mei stood in the kitchen, her long, dense purple hair tied up in a messy bun.
The sweet aroma of cooking filled the air as she hummed a tune, her attention completely absorbed in the dish she was preparing.
Her back was exposed, revealing her creamy white skin, and she moved with a graceful ease as she deftly chopped vegetables and stirred the pot on the stove.
Suddenly, she felt a presence behind her, and her heart skipped a beat. She turned around quickly, but all she saw was a blurry figure.
Before she could react, a sharp smack landed on her buttocks, and a deep chuckle echoed through the room.
Leng Mei spun around, but the figure had already vanished, leaving her feeling disturbed and violated.
She rubbed her sore bottom, her eyes scanning the kitchen for any clues.
But the room was empty, save for the soft glow of the stove.
Leng Mei shuddered, wondering who had dared to touch her without her permission. 'Ilusion?'
As she tried to calm her nerves, a voice whispered in her ear, "Is your hair natural?" She jumped in surprise, her body tensing up.
It was Zhang Wei, standing close to her, his eyes roaming over her body from head to toe.
Leng Mei couldn't help but feel a pang of annoyance at Zhang Wei's intrusion, but she tried to keep her voice steady. "What do you want?" she asked, her eyes narrowed.
Zhang Wei's smile widened, and he took a step closer to her. "I just couldn't resist," he said, his voice low and husky. "You look so beautiful when you're cooking."
Leng Mei took a step back, her body tense. She didn't trust Zhang Wei; something about him made her feel uneasy.
Zhang Wei's face was uncomfortably close to hers, causing Leng Mei's irritation to quickly turn into anger. "Get away from me," she spat, her voice sharp and cold.
But instead of backing off, Zhang Wei's grin only widened, his dark eyes filled with desire. "The color looks unique, a mixed breed?" he said, his hand reaching out to touch her hair.
Leng Mei recoiled, slapping his hand away with a force that made a sharp cracking sound.
Her eyes flashed with anger, and her voice dropped to a dangerous growl. "I said, get away from me."
Zhang Wei's smile faltered, and he took a step back, his eyes flickering with surprise. "What's with those dark circles?" he asked with amusement, trying to regain his composure.
Leng Mei's lips twtiched and she rolled her eyes. "You should be the last person asking me this!"
The memories of last night's events flooded her mind, causing her blood to boil.
Zhang Wei had barged into her room, invading her privacy and messing with her mind.
Then, he had carelessly left the door open, forcing her to listen to her own daughter's moans all night.
She had barely gotten any sleep, and now, just when she was trying to relax and enjoy herself, he had come back to disrupt her peace.
Could this man really have such a deep-seated animosity towards her?
Leng Mei couldn't help but wonder, her eyes darting around the room as she searched for a way to escape his presence.
Zhang Wei caught a glimpse of helplessness in Leng Mei's eyes and couldn't help but chuckle.
He felt an urge to teach this woman some lessons today, but then he remembered something and quickly checked his watch.
As soon as he saw the time, his expression shifted slightly, and he weighed his options. After a moment of contemplation, he shrugged his shoulders, "A few minutes won't hurt."
Zhang Wei knew that Yu Lei would be leaving soon, and he wanted to have a word with her before she left for work.
He wished he could have made it on time, but it was already too late. A little more delay wouldn't matter anymore.
Leng Mei was watching him closely and noticed a change in his body language.
She became alert and ready to defend herself, pointing a spatula at him.
Zhang Wei noticed her reaction and shook his head in disbelief. "Out of all the things you can use to fight me, are you going to use that?" he pointed out, trying to hide his amusement.
Leng Mei's hand trembled as she realized she was still holding the spatula.
As the realization hit her, her face flushed bright red, and she lowered her weapon, feeling foolish and exposed.
She forced a bitter smile and looked at Zhang Wei, saying, "I can't trust you anymore!" She tried to sound serious, but her voice wavered and betrayed her emotions.
The sensations from last night threatened to break her determination.
Zhang Wei was taken aback by the accusation, but he couldn't resist smirking.
He leaned back and settled himself on the raised platform in the kitchen, as if nothing could faze him.
"I don't want you to trust me," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "Your daughter is already under my control. Her life and death will be decided by you now." He spoke with a cold, calculated tone, clearly tired of entertaining her.
Leng Mei's eyes narrowed into a sharp glare, and she repeated his words, her voice laced with disbelief.
At first, she thought he was playing with her, but when she noticed the seriousness in his eyes, a feeling of anger rose within her like a blazing fire.
Her fists clenched tightly, and she struggled to keep her composure.
"Is my daughter a child that you can kidnap and hold hostage to threaten me?" she spoke, her voice laced with venom.
She looked at him with a ridiculous look, as if he was an insect to be squished.
Leng Mei knew that Zhang Wei's cultivation was far beneath Leng Yan's, so there was no way he could successfully manage to do so, physically.
And if he was going to use emotions to manipulate Leng Yan, then Leng Mei had complete trust in her daughter.
Leng Yan wasn't a naive child to be fooled by his loving whispers.
Yet, the audacity of the man to even suggest it changed her opinion of him completely.
The once-charming and charismatic man now seemed like a snake in the grass, slithering and scheming to manipulate her and her family.
Leng Mei feelings turned 180 degree, she felt her disgust for him grow, and she vowed to never let him anywhere near her daughter again.
