Ruan Qiuqiu tossed five desiccated meat strips that didn’t look appetizing at all into the pot. When the water had come to a boil, she poured some tuber powder into the pot too.
She had wanted to add salt, but there wasn’t easily usable salt, only salt in large chunks. Ruan Qiuqiu was too tired, so they could only do without.
During the time Ruan Qiuqiu waited for their very shabby dinner to boil, she sipped the warm water.
The warm water easily went down her throat and into her stomach. At that moment, she felt alive again. She let out a long sigh. Then, she carried the wooden bowl to the bed.
“Mr. Food Reserve, drink some water.” Ruan Qiuqiu thought of how this big gray wolf had acted so fierce in front of her earlier and wanted to treat him a bit gruffly.
But, when her swollen red hand touched his skin that was even colder than hers, her heart softened.
She gently held his chin to feed him the warm water.
However, Mr. Food Reserve was a very troublesome gray wolf. Even though he was unconscious, he was still fiercely baring his teeth. Half of the warm water ran down his attractive jawline instead of into his mouth.
Now that she had a warm meal to eat, she felt recovered as if the warm food was like a medical treatment that cured her illness.
Outside the cave, the snow filled the air. Inside the cave, there was the semblance of “home” from Mr. Gray Wolf and her efforts.
Although, this home was quite shabby.
After finishing her portion of the food, Ruan Qiuqiu was only half full. Even so, she was filled with renewed hope.
Gaining more patience, she minced the meat in Mr. Gray Wolf’s bowl with the bone knife, poured the remaining porridge-like mixture made from the tuber powder into the bowl, and mixed everything together.
Uh-oh. Mr. Gray Wolf’s bowl of food looked kind of gross...
Ruan Qiuqiu quietly washed the spoon she had used for eating, then she carried over the bowl of questionable-looking food over to feed the wolf.
Anyways, he couldn’t see anything right now. It probably didn’t matter, right...?
