Chapter 11: The Butcher, Grim Reaper of Queens
After a month of study, he has gained sufficient knowledge in physics, chemistry, electronics, and IT computing.
Especially in the field of IT, which is his main focus of study.
To the extent that he is now considered a rather impressive computer expert. This is while being distracted in his studies; if he devoted himself completely to this field, becoming a world-class hacker would just be a matter of time.
These are all just episodes; Bi Xiao enjoys the process of growing, and the accumulation of knowledge is also a part of his growth.
Once a person has a goal, no matter what they are doing, there is a sense of striving. He knows that every bit of knowledge he learns is a part of his growth, so he does not find the process tedious as he once thought.
The morning sunlight falls on the streets, filtering through the branches of the trees nearby, casting speckled light and shadows, which are very beautiful.
Bi Xiao runs calmly, feeling the vitality of his strong body, which feels wonderful.
While running, he arrives at Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, the second largest park in New York. This park features a variety of facilities, including sports fields, a swimming pool, children's playgrounds, bike paths, a zoo, and various artistic installations and monuments, making for a very scenic environment.
Nearly an hour of morning running has not made him sweat, and he returns to his apartment nearby and visits a popular breakfast spot.
The breakfast spot is not unusual but is quite popular locally, offering sushi pork sandwiches, egg bacon, and avocado egg whole wheat bread, among other items. Bi Xiao finds the food satisfactory and typically visits this spot for breakfast due to its reasonable prices.
Bi Xiao's breakfast is more substantial than that of an average adult, but it is within normal limits.
Even if someone were surprised by Bi Xiao's still youthful face and strong physique, they would likely think it normal for someone growing to have a bigger appetite.
Holding his tray, he scans the breakfast spot, which is bustling, and only one window-side seat remains. He walks over and sits down to enjoy his meal, overhearing people in the shop passionately discussing a topic—the recent appearance of a serial killer in Queens.
As he enjoys his breakfast, a beautiful figure approaches him, speaking in a slightly husky, mature female voice.
"Hey, may I sit here? All the other seats are taken."
Bi Xiao, engrossed in his meal, looks up gently. She is a very attractive, mature woman with a wine-red ponytail, wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants and sneakers, the gray sweatshirt showing some moisture marks from morning exercise.
"Of course, it would be an honor!!"
"Thank you, my name is Jenny." The woman, seemingly unsurprised by his consent, thanks him and sits down.
"John Shaw."
Bi Xiao tears a piece of whole wheat bread, his demeanor open and straightforward, though a meaningful look flashes in his eyes.
The woman seems equally cheerful and lively, chatting with Bi Xiao as they eat, creating a harmonious atmosphere. However, Bi Xiao increasingly feels that this woman is peculiar, having read books on psychology and communication skills.
Her speech seems normal but subtly brings up details about him.
This is a very advanced communication technique, or perhaps an interrogation technique.
Most people would not notice these details, and her open, straightforward demeanor lowers his guard, which is not something ordinary women can achieve.
Additionally, Bi Xiao's peripheral vision catches the calluses on the woman's hands and fingers, unsure if they are due to years of holding a gun, a sign of her training.
But Bi Xiao is certain; this woman is deliberately getting close to him.
