Chapter 111: Sudden Changed!
"I said, I'm not a mutant."
Bella knew who Magneto was. In America, the name Magneto was directly associated with terrorism for the general public. She just didn't expect him to mistake her for a mutant.
She had never discriminated against mutants. In fact, because of Bi Xiao, she had even resented not being one herself.
The truth is the truth, and at this moment, she didn't want to lie.
Magneto listened to Bella without anger or surprise. He had encountered many children like her, who tried to hide their abilities after awakening, not wanting their identities exposed, not wanting to be looked at with disgust and hatred by those around them, including family and friends.
No one wants to be isolated; no one wants their life to change.
Magneto always knew that it wasn't the fault of his fellow mutants but the fault of the world and the ignorant people within it.
Magneto was always very patient, especially with a compatriot who had great potential. Bella, in his view, was already a beta-level mutant. Look at the huge fireball with a diameter of seven or eight meters; even though the Juggernaut bore most of the explosion's power head-on, it still managed to destroy the surroundings.
He also noticed that after Bella used her power, she didn't even catch her breath, which meant she hadn't used all her strength. She had more potential to develop.
In the future, she could reach the alpha level, on par with him and Charles.
As the two talked, howls of wolves and the sound of something breaking through the air echoed in the distance.
Suddenly, figures appeared around the flames, surrounding Magneto and Bella. Led by Jacob, the werewolves and the Cullen family encircled Bella, while James and a group of vampires surrounded everyone, including Magneto.
The atmosphere immediately became tense and murderous.
The flames from the burning vegetation crackled, and Juggernaut, displeased by the small figures surrounding him, let out a noticeable breath, and his chest started to heave rapidly, exuding a ferocious aura that swept in all directions.
This made the vampires with James, the Cullen family, and Jacob's werewolves feel like they were being watched by a terrifying beast.
"Haha, it's quite lively tonight," Magneto remarked, unfazed by the sudden and complicated situation.
He glanced around.
Jacob transformed into a human and stood to Bella's left, while Edward stood to her right. Jacob, seeing Bella's calm demeanor, was somewhat surprised but still asked, "Are you alright, Bella?"
Edward, who had been first to act, gave Jacob a complex look but said nothing, only gazing at Bella with his clear eyes.
"Of course, I was just disturbed from my studies. Jacob, what's going on now?"
Bella responded to Jacob since he was her childhood friend, and she could sense his concern for her. She only saw Jacob as a friend and had no other thoughts.
"That group of outsiders is a band of nomadic vampires. Their target is you, and there seems to be someone behind them. Although I don't know why, I will protect you."
"Thank you."
Bella looked at James, who was eyeing her maliciously, and said calmly.
"Victoria?"
"Sorry, James, that girl is strange, possibly a mutant. She killed our people. The old man is Magneto, and the others are his subordinates, apparently also here for that girl."
"How interesting. It seems we are at a stalemate here." James's expression turned serious.
His gaze swept over the calm old man.
Although he was a vampire, he had naturally heard of the famous Magneto, one of the most powerful mutants in the world. To put it bluntly, vampires could show off in front of ordinary people and some weaker mutants.
However, facing a mutant of Magneto's caliber, if he wanted to kill them, it would probably take just a wave of his hand.
As he approached Bella, step by step, under the unwilling and angry gazes of Edward and Jacob, Bella furrowed her delicate brows, feeling a bit panicked. However, the necklace around her neck suddenly emitted a dazzling golden light...
A surge of magical power from the necklace poured into Bella's body, and a majestic aura erupted. Centered around her, a wave of golden energy swept in all directions. Sabretooth was caught off guard and was thrown away by the golden energy wave. The Cullen family lying on the ground was also affected.
Following in Sabretooth's footsteps, only the restrained Jacob and his werewolf companions were spared.
When the golden energy wave reached Magneto, it was blocked by his ever-present force field, dissipating. Magneto's old face showed some changes.
As one of the strongest mutants capable of controlling magnetism, Magneto could sense the nature of the energy. He could tell that the power suddenly unleashed by Bella did not come from herself but from the necklace around her neck.
What was this item that could emit such a powerful force?
This was definitely not something an ordinary person could possess.
Many questions flashed through Magneto's mind. He had lived for many years and had never seen such a vast amount of energy compressed into a small necklace, seemingly controllable by the girl and automatically activated in danger.
This function was incredibly advanced.
Waves of turbulent air swept in all directions like a storm. Bella now burned with golden flames, her hair standing on end, her eyes glowing with gold, majestic and beautiful like a divine female deity.
A memory flashed in Bella's mind, and she instinctively began to control it.
Ong~~
In the next moment, Magneto's face changed drastically, and everyone present was also shocked. Bella's figure began to float, rising into the air. Behind her, numerous golden vortexes, like mirrors, appeared, forming a splendid golden wall.
From these golden vortexes, sacred and gorgeous weapons slowly emerged.
Instantly, a vast and holy aura began to spread across Forks. Even the ground started to tremble slightly, as if a natural disaster was imminent.
What was unbelievable to everyone was the intense threat of death. James, the Cullen family, Jacob, and others felt that when those weapons were fully released from the golden vortexes, destruction and disaster would ensue, leaving no survivors.
"So the vision I saw wasn't of that man, but Bella?"
In the distance, Alice, covered in dust, struggled to lift her head and look at Bella, who was floating in the sky like an emotionless goddess, and murmured in a shocked tone.
She had always thought the protagonist of this scene was the man named John Shaw.
But now, she realized it was Bella.
"This is really..." Dr. Carlisle smiled bitterly, holding his wife's hand, turning to look at her with deep affection.
Facing death, he was calm, only reluctant to part with his beloved wife.
His wife, Esme, also looked back lovingly.
Jacob, suppressed from the start by Magneto, looked up at the sky, his giant wolf head reflecting the figure standing under the splendid golden wall.
He felt no fear, only love. If he were to die at the hands of the girl he loved, he would be willing.
James and his group were filled with regret and fear. He deeply regretted being hired and deceived to come to Forks to capture Bella.
He hadn't expected the girl to be so terrifying. No wonder that gloomy guy didn't come himself.
Damn it, he used us as cannon fodder.
Mystique and the recovering Sabretooth looked at Magneto. Although they were his trusted aides, they had no resistance against such an overwhelming force and could only rely on Magneto.
Magneto also looked up, silent, as the world trembled. An invisible energy quietly changed.
