Quong Po had everything ready and waited for Qin Feng.
Quong Ting was well aware that her relationship with her dad was not considered great. She was already twenty three years old. The reason she could reach D1-tier was owed entirely to the resources supplied by her dad. However, Quong Ting was far from being a prodigy. She was just another ordinary D-tier.
To qualify as a prodigy, not only did one need to reach D-tier before twenty years old, but he or she also had to be the most elite among their age group.
Quong Ting naturally was not one of those elites.
To keep Quong Ting safe, Quong Po had held her daughter close to him and brought her everywhere he went. She was always being protected and treated like a little princess, even though the places Quong Po went to were usually very dangerous.
“Dad, why did you spend so much on the materials? Because of the flying knives? Who knows whether they are going to be good? The price is too high!”
Quong Ting knew his father was loaded and would still have enough to support her. She just could not understand why her father was willing to spend all the savings on a few knives.
“You wouldn’t understand even if I explained it to you. If this works out, I will be two or three times stronger than I am now!” Quong Po said excitedly.
Quong Ting could not care less. All she cared about was their family fortune.
“So what if you become more powerful? All you do is kill beasts anyway. Your old knives are good enough,” Quong Ting ranted sourly, “If you have the money, why don’t you establish an organization instead?”
Quong Ting’s peers were mostly descendants of influential elects. They were usually pampered and rarely exposed to the wild as Quong Ting was. Her father was probably the only B7-tier Quong Ting knew that still needed to fight at the front line.
“It’s easy for you to say,” Quong Po reprimanded.
Quong Ting rebutted rebelliously, “Didn’t Qin Feng also create his own organization? He did it when he is just a C-tier!”
“That’s him being capable!”
“Capable? Alright, then I want him to be my bodyguard. Dad, use the money to hire him instead.”
Quong Ting finally revealed her true thought. Though she was saved by Bai Li, she did not like her and was even envious of her. In contrast, she found Qin Feng very attractive.
But to Quong Po’s ears, Quong Ting was just being unreasonable.
“Do you know what you are talking about? Qin Feng is your savior and you want to treat him like a subordinate? And did you say hire? Do you really believe I can still afford him? I barely have any assets left!”
“Then don’t buy the knives. Isn’t your daughter’s life more precious than your weapon?”
“What are you trying to imply? Have I not hired enough guards to protect you? How do you repay me? You disobeyed my order and ditched your bodyguards. Do you have any idea what might have happened to you if not because of Qin Feng? To rescue you from the Shinla Devils, I gathered a hundred men to go to the dangerous frontline. Those merits I rewarded them are my hard-fought assets too. How much more money do I need to spend on you before you can start thinking for me and others instead?”
Quong Ting had never tried to be considerate to others.
She was old enough but had been spoiled by Quong Po since young. She had seen the brutality and darkness of society before but her father would usually deal with these ugly sides quickly.
Over time, Quong Ting could no longer recognize the danger of the real world and became more and more fearless. She felt that every problem could be solved as long as her father was still around.
Even after she was abducted by Shinla, Quong Ting believed that her father would definitely come to her rescue.
Somehow, she was right again.
However, she had no idea about her miserable fate if Qin Feng did not intervene this time. Quong Po would still be able to save her but she would have a very different future.
They were busy quarreling and did not notice the arrival of Qin Feng.
‘All I wanted is to help Huaxia from losing a heroic frontline fighter. Unexpectedly, my action seemed to have changed the course of his future. I wonder how this would pan out eventually.’ Qin Feng thought to himself.
Quong Po became famous because of his Thousand Flying Knives. It would not come true now that the Magical Tesseract was in Qin Feng’s hand. That was why Qin Feng had decided to get involved, but things had changed beyond Qin Feng’s control.
‘Sooner or later, Quong Ting would stir trouble so huge that her father would not be able to handle. If not for Quong Po, she would already be dead by now. But I have nothing to do with this. I can’t take care of them all the time. Helping him make a thousand knives would clear my debt on claiming the tesseract before him. I no longer owe him after today.’ Qin Feng announced his presence by releasing his internal force.
Quong Po immediately sensed it and looked in his direction. He stood up and walked up to welcome Qin Feng.
“I have all the materials prepared.”
“Alright, let’s start then!”
Qin Feng passed the tesseract to Quong Po. The latter immediately transferred the money to Qin Feng before he started using it.
After that, Quong Po spent about an hour to construct one thousand B-tier beast emperor grade flying knives.
“Release!” Under his consciousness control, one thousand flying knives flew out from the tesseract and surrounded Quong Po. Soon, the entire room was filled with dark knives. Though they were without the usual gold radiance like on other beast emperor equipment, the knives still emanated a daunting aura.
“This energy… Fantastic!” Quong Po lamented. He could not wait to fight an enemy now, be it human or beast.”
“Congratulations, Mister Quong!”
“This is all thanks to you!” Quong Po expressed his gratitude.
They were both pleased with the outcome of the trade.
Qin Feng did not stop by for long and he went to the certification hall after that.
Dusan frontline was a busy place. The number of teams gathered here was plenty.
Today, there was another party gearing to depart. The team was led by Xu Qing.
Xu Qing examined his team list. There were at least thirty C-tiers. However, he still thought that they were heavily underwhelmed in this deadly Dusan warzone.
Xu Qing saw Qin Feng as soon as the latter stepped into the hall.
“Qin Feng, here for a mission?” Xu Qing was enthused.
“General Xu!” Qin Feng greeted him and said, “I completed a mission yesterday. I am here to collect the rewards.”
Qin Feng came for the merits after they had annihilated the Butterfly Emperor and insectoid nest.
“Why not join our mission? It’s safer to move together.”
“Where are you planning to go?”
“The seventh region, Darkgold Giant Cockroach.”
Qin Feng furrowed his brows and shook his head. “I am thinking of the fifth region. I heard recently that hunting beehives are more rewarding.”
Qin Feng told Xu Qing his plan straightforwardly. He could not join them since their aims were different.
But in others’ eyes, Qin Feng was being arrogant for rejecting Xu Qing’s invitation.
A lot of C-tiers that followed Xu Qing had seen Qin Feng before. Their faces changed when they heard Qin Feng decline Xu Qing and say that he wanted to go to the fifth region instead.
“Beehives are more dangerous than the seventh region. Do you think you are an A-tier?” One of them mocked Qin Feng.
