Chapter 783 - The Parallel Champion

“Pffshht!”

As the saber’s blade cut open its flesh, the C-tier beast king let out an excruciating cry before wildly rocking its body, flinging the young man up into the sky.

Qin Feng’s body was at its peak condition due to the numerous physical enhancements he had gone through. As such, he took a flip in the air and then dove straight to the ground agilely. Without his consciousness and internal energy, he had to use his limbs to balance himself when he landed, creating a three-meter wide trench.

If he were an ordinary human or an ability user that relied only on his powers, his palms would have been completely skinned off by now! However, thanks to his enhanced physique, Qin Feng only endured a scrape from the feat.

Still, danger was still looming in the air.

“Roaar!!”

The C-tier beast king let out a furious roar as it locked onto Qin Feng. There was a huge cut on its neck—the wound was much bigger than Qin Feng’s Verdant Emperor Saber’s blade. It was torn to a much bigger scale due to the properties of the Grand-ripple Metal.

Despite the cut being around seven to eight meters in length, this seemed like a scratch to the C-tier beast king, which was as huge as a three-floor building.

Seeing this, Qin Feng frowned. “I should have gone for its head!”

Indeed, if he opted to stab the beast’s skull earlier, his Verdant Emperor Saber could have shredded its brain.

Nonetheless, it was already too late. Now that the beast king was provoked and had locked onto him, it would not give Qin Feng a second chance again. In an instant, it swiftly lunged at Qin Feng and attacked him with its massive claw!

“Ah!” The ability users let out a cry of shock.

“Be careful!”

“Run! You’re going to die!”

Some of the ability users were female. Therefore, their despairing cries were quite ear-piercing, making the situation seem even more dire and depressing.

“Quick! We have to retreat!”

“But if we run, what about him? He’s here to help us!”

“Sure, but he’s about to die though!”

The group started to fight amongst themselves. If this were under normal circumstances—when they still had their powers, they would have gone ahead and saved Qin Feng. Right now, however, not even one of them believed that this young man could take on the beast king. They believed that Qin Feng would be smashed to pieces by the ferocious beast.

Yet, things did not turn out the way they expected.

Qin Feng swung his Verdant Emperor Saber feverishly. In a blink of an eye, a fountain of blood gushed out as the beast king’s claw was cut open.

“Argh!!”

Then, with a terrifying force bursting out of his body, Qin Feng pushed his palm forward! The beast king then lost its balance and was shoved aside! Seeing his opponent flinch, Qin Feng immediately slashed out his saber again, slicing off half of the beast king’s claw.

He did all this without any powers or martial arts. Just a simple slash with great brute force.

Even though the Verdant Emperor Saber had only a one-meter blade, Qin Feng was already capable of using it to destroy the beast king.

The despairing group was now staring at this bloodied young man with awe. They did not expect things to turn out this way.

They had fought all the way from the city’s entrance; the fight along the way here was quite gruesome—they had encountered numerous ultra beasts and had to sacrifice a lot of their comrades to get here. Without their consciousness and internal energy, they felt as though they were as squishy as rabbits.

And now, they had witnessed someone slaying a beast king without any powers.

This was so unbelievable.

“Yes! He did it! We’re safe!”

“This guy must be a parallel-trained ancient warrior!”

“Quick! We must escort General Jiang over!”

The group then looked around. There was nothing but thick woods around them. Not only that, they could also see a massive snow mountain in the distance.

They then became quiet as despair overwhelmed them.

Were they going to be alright? Could they still get back to their own world?

“Phew…!!!”

Meanwhile, Qin Feng breathed out a mouthful of burning vapor as he paced his adrenaline. Usually, he was able to kill a beast like this with ease with his powers. He did not think he had to put so much effort to slay a lowly C-tier beast king like this.

As Qin Feng was wiping off the sweat on his forehead, the group of ability users approached him.

After a brief glance at Qin Feng’s badge, they instantly recognized his identity despite him being so bloodied with the beast king’s blood.

“This guy is the governor of North Sea State!”

“Ah, this is that governor! He’s so young but is already a B-tier! It must be him!”

“But isn’t Governor Qin an ability user?”

“You’re such an ignorant dimwit! This is him!”

As the group was celebrating that they had a B-tier coming to their rescue, the B-tier ability user that they were protecting earlier came up to greet Qin Feng—it was General Jiang Haolin, the general who was stationed at Chongluo City. This was actually the day for him to head out of the city to patrol the city borders with his patrol guards. When this spatial overlap phenomenon happened, he was already out of the city—which would explain why he was able to escape the city.

After detailing his escape, Jiang Haolin’s face turned grim and he was depressed again. “Thank you, General Qin. If it weren’t for you, I would have died here.”

“There’s no need for thanks, General. You ought to thank the regent for sending me here.”

Qin Feng’s voice was loud and cold—some of Jiang’s goons were thinking of leaving him behind to save themselves. Several ability users, having heard him, lowered their heads in shame and did not dare to look at Qin Feng.

They had lost their powers right now… they were afraid that Qin Feng would kill them.

“Regardless, you still saved my life. And for that, you have my utmost gratitude. It’s such a shame that I can do so little at the moment; I cannot even activate my spatial rune equipment!” Jiang Haolin replied sincerely.

Due to him being an ability user, Jiang Haolin was the weakest in the group right now. Right now, he could still retain some level of authority and garner some respect from his men; but if things were to go on for another few hours, he could be facing a parley of leadership!

In this dog-eat-dog world, no one would want to protect a weakling.

This was why, right now, Jiang Haolin’s first concern was escaping this wretched dimension that made him so powerless.

“General Qin, I wonder if the regent has found a way to pull us out of this… place? This whole area has changed so much. Could this be… the infamous spatial overlap?”

Jiang Haolin was a well-informed veteran. As such, he knew about a lot of things that were happening in the world. He had also heard that previously an A-tier ability user was trapped in this spatial overlap world for ten whopping years.

And everything that was going on near Chongluo City fitted the A-tier’s description of the spatial overlap world.

Jiang Haolin could not imagine staying in this dreaded world for a whole decade.

Seeing the general’s depressed state, Qin Feng said, “Follow me, General.”

Then, he walked to the direction from where he emerged earlier.

Seeing this, the ability users gathered their spirits and followed him.

A few steps later, they could see a square of silver light ahead—it was a two-meter wide “door” made of silver light.

The ability users were overjoyed when they saw this.

“So, we can escape?”

“Yes! We can get out of this damn place now!”

“Let’s go!”

“Let’s go! Let’s go! I don’t want to stay in this godforsaken place any longer!”

They then rushed to the “door” like excited children, as Qin Feng followed from behind.
