When Jian Ning woke up, she was already in a pile of ruins. Shang Jin was lying in a corner, unconscious.
"Cough cough …"
"Well, are you all right?" She touched Shang Jin's forehead. Seeing that he did not have a fever, and that the redness on his face was probably due to the cough from before, she felt at ease.
Shang Jin replied weakly. Lying in Jian Ning's embrace, he examined the surroundings.
He touched his chest and felt something that looked like a strip of cloth. Only then did he feel at ease. Fortunately, the thing he used to defend himself was not taken away.
Jian Ning used her feet to drag the chair that had fallen to the ground over, and helped Shang Jin finish it. She walked over to the wall softly and checked what was happening outside.
She had listened for a long time but didn't make a single sound. She unwillingly retreated, and just as she was about to go to another corner to listen in, Shang Jin called out to her.
"There's no need to waste time. There's no one here. This should be an abandoned brick factory. Normally, no one would come here."
Is that really the case? Jian Ning then carefully observed the room, it seemed to be true.
There were still a lot of bricks scattered around, and after asking the air in detail, there was indeed a smell.
She pursed her lips and walked to Shang Jin's side, thinking: "If it's an abandoned brick factory, and there aren't many people around, then it should be in the west of the city."
Shang Jin looked at her with interest, seeing that she was still able to analyze the situation calmly, he could not help but have a good impression of her.
"How can you be sure this is the west side of the city?" Shang Jin asked calmly. Although he liked Jian Ning's decisiveness, he was afraid that he would make a mistake.
Jian Ning went back to his side and helped him tidy up his messy clothes before explaining, "Previously, when I was in Shang Yue, there were models taking photos here, so I came over to take a few."
Knowing that she really did know about this place, Shang Jin didn't say much and closed his eyes to start saving his energy.
"Gulp …"
After an unknown amount of time, a series of growls came from Jian Ning's stomach.
Her face was flushed red and her back was facing Shang Jin. She bit her lips and closed her eyes, feeling extremely frustrated.
"Well, this time they're after you, aren't they?" With great difficulty, Jian Ning finally mustered the courage to speak out her guess in a low voice.
"Yes." Shang Jin didn't deny it and nodded. When he looked at Jian Ning, it was more complicated.
"It's Zhuang Ye and Jian Xingfeng's men."
With regards to his calmness, Jian Ning gladly accepted it and began to wander around the room again.
"Are you afraid?" Shang Jin stared at her and suddenly asked.
Jian Ning stared blankly at her, then chuckled, with the intention of teasing her.
"What, are you afraid?"
Shang Jin frowned and asked: "Would I be afraid?"
She carefully thought back to it and really hadn't seen him scared before. She pouted with indignation and sized up Shang Jin from head to toe.
While holding onto his chin, he shook his head, "You are Shang Jin, someone that everyone in Hong Kong knows. It is hard to imagine your fear."
She did not know what she was thinking, but she suddenly felt a chill. She could not help but poke at the goosebumps on her arms.
Suddenly, she touched the bracelet on her hand and couldn't help laughing out loud.
"Hehe, this bunch of idiots are really stupid."
"What's wrong?" Shang Jin was thinking of a countermeasure, but when he saw Jian Ning laughing foolishly by himself, he couldn't help but ask.
"Huh?" Jian Ning raised her head in shock, seeing that Shang Jin was frowning the entire time, only then did she remember that he did not tell her the reason.
She took out the bracelet on her wrist, raised her chin proudly and waved it in front of him.
"This is a gift from my Uncle Ren, it contains the location of the satellite. Luckily he said that Jian Xingfeng might want to harm me and told me to keep it with me, otherwise, I really wouldn't be able to recall it."
Shang Jin stared at her wrist and smiled. He treated her even more gently than before.
"Someone should be coming over soon. It's better if you hide the things in your hands."
"Don't worry, this place has already been located. As long as my Uncle Ren sees it, we can be saved." She waved her hand nonchalantly, as if the item in her hand was omnipotent.
Just that, Shang Jin was not optimistic about this, he raised his head and looked at the light outside, estimating the time, and believed that it would not be long before Jian Xingfeng and the rest arrived.
As expected, not long after, Jian Xingfeng's voice could be heard from far away.
"Brother Zhuang, it seems that you still have a way. I really admire you to the extreme."
As the voice got closer and closer, Jian Ning had already recognized Jian Xingfeng's voice. She pouted and walked to Shang Jin's side while mumbling, "So unlucky."
Shang Jin only smiled faintly and squeezed her hand to let her feel at ease.
Jian Xingfeng pushed open the door, seeing that Shang Jin and Yue Shan had woken up, he was shocked for a moment, and then stood behind Zhuang Ye, allowing him to take care of them.
Zhuang Ye did not continue being modest, smiling as he walked in front of Shang Jin, and gave him a dubious look.
"Mr. Shang, I never thought that we would meet in such a manner. I'm really sorry."
The moment they entered, Shang Jin's face fell, his entire body released a chill, making people not dare to get close, causing Zhuang Ye to feel extremely uncomfortable.
"Zhuang Ye, why aren't you dying? You've already stepped into the coffin, and you still want to mess around?"
Before he could speak, Jian Ning had already provoked him, but Jian Ning couldn't be blamed for that. Looking at Zhuang Ye's old and decrepit appearance, she thought about how she was almost forced to marry him, and couldn't control her anger.
"Director Jane, your daughter's mouth is so vicious." Zhuang Ye looked at Jian Xingfeng and spoke sinisterly.
Shang Jin did not say a word, and silently watched the interaction between the few of them. He silently watched Jian Ning and the two people to stall for time.
At first, Zhuang Ye felt that something was amiss. Normally, Shang Jin would not be so patient about it, but since he was like this, there must be a reason.
He put his hands behind his back and felt for the button on his walking stick.
"I'm old and don't have much patience. I feel that the Mr. Shang is not bad, so please go and wait for me on the Road to River Styx."
"Don't worry, even if you die, I will still be alive and well."
Shang Jin's cold voice reached his ears, but before he could even see clearly, the thing in Shang Jin's hand had stabbed into Zhuang Ye's arm. Before he could even press his pressure to explode, the walking stick had fallen onto the ground.
Jian Xingfeng looked at the silver dagger on his chest and his knees went weak. He slumped onto the ground and looked at Shang Jin in fear.
"Mr. Shang, this has nothing to do with me. Zhuang Ye forced me to do this. You can't blame me."
His hands clasped together in a panic, begging for mercy, as he did not have time to pay attention to the ridicule in Zhuang Ye's eyes.
