Chapter 1306 Good Example

Chapter 1306 Good Example

"You are really not gonna let your son play with the slingshot?" asked Shui Xian to Xiang Weimin.

"He is young," replied Xiang Weimin. "We will think about it once he gets a bit older."

"You are talking like it's dangerous," said Shui Xian.

"Isn't it?" asked Xiang Weimin.

"You should not be the one saying that," replied Shui Xian. "You are someone who plays with guns and daggers. You are finding slingshot dangerous for your son? That's called double standards."

"Times are different for everyone," said Xiang Weimin. "When I was young, kids loved outdoor sports. They liked having fun, being mischievous, and causing a whole lot of trouble. Now, kids seem to like their tablets and mobile phones more. It's already surprising that my son is interested in plants and books. But he isn't really a sporty guy. At least, not right now. It can change when he grows up a bit but for now, he really likes staying indoors."

"What's wrong with being indoors?" asked Hyson. "My best friend spent her entire childhood cooped up in a library. She turned out pretty fine. There are flaws but we can overlook them. And after spending all that time inside, she didn't even become a vampire who was scared of the sun. Look, she is sitting here under the sun without any fear of getting burned."

"Hyson, do you know who else is afraid of the sun?" asked Raelle.

"I know. Ghosts. You don't have to tell me that." Thinking about what he discussed with Shui Xian in the morning, he changed the topic, "Ellie, we need to talk."

Raelle gave him a look. "Now, what?"

"Let's go hiking!" The source of this content can be linked to n0velbin•

"No."

"I'm not asking. I'm informing you."

"I thought it was a discussion."

"I don't do discussion with a stubborn fool like you. If I say we are going then we are going. If you disagree, I promise you, I won't let you go."

What can you do to my wife?" asked Shui Xian.

"She knows very well what I am capable of. Don't forget, I'm the person who has spent years studying you. I know how to annoy you the best. So, if you disagree, I'll start my harassment."

"What are we planning here?" asked Xiang Wai as she came over with Justin in her arms. "Treasure hunting!"

Justin's eyes lit up, "Can I join?"

"Of course, you can," replied Hyson.

"I'll come too," announced Xiang Wai.

"Who invited you? No, who are you?"

Xiang Wai narrowed her eyes at him, "Can you let me go for once? Why do you love taking jabs at me so much?"

Hyson shrugged, "Maybe because you are completely different from Ellie. It takes a lot of effort to get a reaction from her. But with you, I get interesting reactions every single time."

"I am not here for your entertainment!"

"No?"

"No! You have the wrong idea."

"Then what use of mine are you?" asked Hyson. "No, we are not taking you on our treasure hunt adventure. You stay where you are."

"Argh! I hate you!" said Xiang Wai.

Justin looked at the two of them bickering with a very curious look in his big and innocent eyes. He actually seemed to be having a lot of fun just looking at these two. He didn't think he had such a fun uncle and aunt.

"You both are funny," he commented in his sweet voice.

Both Hyson and Xiang Wai paused and stared at Justin.

Shui Xian laughed out loud. "Are you both feeling embarrassed yet or not?"

Hyson dusted off his shoulder as if there was some dust there. Xiang Wai scratched her earlobe and looked elsewhere. She really felt a bit embarrassed just looking into Justin's innocent eyes. But she refused to accept it. She'd never tell anyone that she was embarrassed.

"Okay, stop pretending now," said Shui Xian. "Just stop embarrassing yourselves in front of the kid. The others are used to it already but spare poor Justin. What is he gonna learn from you two?"

"True, you should set some good example for him to learn from," added Xiang Weimin.
