"Even if you feel that way, you should still not ditch them," said Shui Koshing. "They all really put so much effort into planning everything."
"But what's the point if I can't enjoy any of that?" asked Raelle. "Wouldn't it be better if they just took this time to have fun with each other? I'd be really spoiling their night."
Shui Koshing wanted to say something more but he saw Shui Xian shaking his head so, he stopped and only sighed. "Okay, do as you feel right."
Shui Xian looked at Raelle and took her upstairs saying, "You'd be attending the bachelorette party."
Raelle stopped and glanced at him, "Why?"
"Because everyone put a lot of effort into that party for you."
"I said we'd be going to Country G that day," reminded Raelle.
"We will," he answered. "All you have to do is just show up at the bachelorette party and then you can sneak out of there if you don't feel right. Our flight can get canceled. I still have a private plane that we can take. Although it's too much for you, it's just once in a lifetime thing. It's not like we are getting married every day. You just have to put up with this for once."
Actually, Raelle also didn't want to waste anyone's effort. But after the last time when she spent a night out with Xiang Wai and Cloe, she realized her own shortcomings very clearly. She really wasn't someone who could have fun with those girls. There weren't that many things she was interested in and neither was she someone who was into trying new things.
She liked her old things and was comfortable with them. Change was still not as acceptable to her as others thought. She hadn't changed as much as everyone thought either. She might have become a lot more patient though to the point that it was baffling to herself.
Shui Xian froze when he heard that question from her but seeing how she asked so casually and seemed to be perfectly fine, he pursed his lips before replying, "Our kid? That kid might inherit your straight face. I highly doubt that our kid would inherit my childishness."
"Don't you want a daughter?" asked Raelle. "Your genes are gonna overtake mine when it comes to our daughter. Have some faith in yourself."
Shui Xian snickered, "Have faith in my genes? No. I think your dominant genes are more likely to win just like you keep winning in every argument of ours."
"If you don't give in, there is a high chance that I might lose."
"How can I see that happening?" he asked. "No way! When I am around, my wife has to win. No one can make her lose. Not even me. I don't allow that."
He slumped down on the sofa comfortably and took the iPad to look at their wedding photos. He seemed to have been bewitched as he loved to scroll through these wedding photos every single night. He just felt too good just looking at the photos. Their traditional wedding dress photos were missing because Raelle only wanted to put on that dress once and that was on her wedding day. She did not want to go through so much hassle again and again.
And he didn't want to force it either considering that the dress alone weighed a lot and adding in the jewelry, it was too much even for him. He wondered how was she supposed to even walk wearing that but everyone said she'd be able to do so. "Xian, can you stop looking at those already?" Raelle really was tired of seeing him smiling to himself just scrolling through those wedding photos every single night. He was not even getting tired of them. She didn't even know what was so interesting in those photos. The real person was in front of him but he had eyes for only the photos lately.
"I think this one would be good. How about we put this in our bedroom?" asked Shui Xian as he showed her the photo.
Raelle pushed the iPad away saying, "No comments. Stick with one. Last night, it was another photo that you decided on and the night before that, it was another one that you picked. Can you just decide on one and stick with it?"
"I can't!" he replied. "You think it's easy to pick one? These are our wedding photos. I like all of them. Is it my fault that you look good in each and every one of them?"
"Very flattering but not gonna work! I'm not looking!"
She was really tired playing this game with her. She really wondered if something was wrong with his brain? Did she pick a fool for herself? This fool was really something else...
