1396 Free Labor
"Forget about all that and answer my questions," Raelle was still insisting on having him answer her questions as she did not want to discuss whether she loved the new and forgot the old or not. "I came here in the evening," answered Hyson as he yawned. "I was really tired as I rushed to finish my scenes, caught the last flight, and couldn't even rest on the flight because of a crying kid. So, I just went to sleep right after coming. Just a while ago, I woke up and realized that I hadn't eaten anything for over 16 hours now. I was hungry so I came to find something to eat. But there is nothing here. I could only make do with the apple."
Shui Xian had already figured out the reason why Hyson was here. He was looking at the ingredients available in the kitchen and his brows twitched when he heard Hyson saying that there was nothing in the kitchen. "There is so much here though," Shui Xian pointed at the refrigerator filled with fresh vegetables and meats of all kinds. Hyson gave him a look, "Xian Ge, this needs to be processed. Do I look capable of that?" n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"This is why one should at least have the ability to feed themselves or they'd go hungry like you," lamented Shui Xian as he looked at the ingredients thoughtfully wondering what to make. A lot of dishes could be made with such high-quality ingredients but he needed to make something easier right now as Raelle was hungry and he didn't want his wife to wait for long.
"So, should I have this ability?" asked Raelle.
Shui Xian's train of thought was broken when he heard Raelle's voice. He turned to look at her, finding her waiting for his answer. Shui Xian recalled what he just said and bit his tongue. Wasn't his wife in the same situation as Hyson? Why didn't he think of this before speaking? His mind turned at the speed of light as he cleared his throat and said, "No, darling, you don't have to know all this. How can your beautiful hands do such a thing?"
"Then why do I have to learn it?" questioned Hyson hatefully. "My hands are beautiful too." He even showed his hands which were indeed beautiful. There was no doubt that Hyson had beautiful hands with long fingers, perfect for playing piano. No wonder, he was known for his piano skills when he was younger. "You have to learn," insisted Shui Xian. "My wife doesn't need to learn it because she has me to feed her. What about you? Either find someone who knows how to cook or learn to do it yourself."
"My husband isn't willing to let me work," Raelle smiled at him making Hyson want to smack on her head but he didn't dare to do so. For a moment, he actually felt envious of her. "Stop looking at me and get to work."
Hyson grumbled something under his breath and went to find tomatoes. He put the tomatoes on the cutting board.
"Did you wash them first?" reminded Shui Xian and Hyson paused before he hurriedly rushed to wash the tomatoes. He felt so dumb all of a sudden and didn't dare look back at Shui Xian. Then he chose a knife and heard Shui Xian's voice again, "That's for meat." Shui Xian went to take out another knife and put it in front of him, "Use this to dice the tomatoes."
Hyson pursed his lips and nodded his head.
"Be careful and in anger, don't cut your own finger."
Hyson shook his head to get rid of all distractions before he focused on the tomatoes and held the kitchen knife carefully. He was so attentive in his work but he was so slow that it felt like he wasn't dicing tomatoes but was growing them.
Raelle smiled at the scene in front of her as she shared a look with Shui Xian who looked rather pleased to find a free labor. Even if this labor was too slow, he didn't mind. He managed to knead the floor and cut the noodles and got everything else prepared too. He was originally planning on making spaghetti but then he decided to make a bowl of tomato noodles instead.
