Chapter 1399 Exclusive Chef
Raelle didn't have as many thoughts as her siblings. She had clearly accepted them a long time ago. She was willing to listen to them and get along with them. It was just those two who hadn't found the rhythm of getting along with her yet. But they couldn't be blamed for that either as they hadn't known her for even a year yet.
Shui Xian was able to figure her out soon after their marriage because Raelle didn't intend to keep anything from him. She wanted a transparent relationship and that's why they didn't have to stumble along to understand each other. Besides, Shui Xian was her husband and with her sense of responsibility being so strong, Raelle would try her best to share everything with him.
But it was different with Xiang Weimin and Xiang Wai. Raelle had no idea how to get close to these two and those two were cautious around her too as if she was fragile and would run away if they startled her. It often baffled her how Xiang Weimin and Xiang Wai always tried to slowly probe around to test her bottom line.
It was kind of funny and cute too.
Later, they really met at the breakfast table. Everyone was here and it made the place seem lively. The huge dining table that was used to having only three to maximum four people sitting on it, today had a dozen people gathered together to have breakfast. Uncle Eric smiled kindly seeing this scene and even said to Grandfather Xiang, "Sir, this place finally doesn't seem as empty and silent as before."
Grandfather Xiang also smiled and nodded, "Indeed. With all of them around, this lifeless castle seemed to have come to life again. I didn't even realize before how empty this place was." Perhaps it was because that he got used to the liveliness during these months that he was more energetic and smiled a lot more often. He seemed to be in good health too. "Sir, I'm glad to see you doing well. Your health seems so much better now," said Uncle Eric with a bit of emotion. He knew the reason why Grandfather Xiang insisted on moving back to Country C with the idea of going back to his roots. He believed he won't live long and he really didn't want to die in this foreign land. Who knew that he'd appear so much better after moving to his familiar land. It was surprising but it made the old butler very happy too. "My health is indeed better now," replied Grandfather Xiang. "The only problem is that it seems I'll have to make my wife wait for me again."
Uncle Eric comforted him, "I'm sure Madam won't mind waiting longer for you in the underworld. If anything, she'd be happy to see you doing well with the blessing of grandchildren around you."
He always hoped for the best for her.
He was quite worried when Grandfather Xiang was looking for guys everywhere for Raelle as if she needed anyone's approval. He was very dissatisfied with this approach of an arranged marriage too. But it seemed that he had been too narrow-minded. Grandfather Xiang was old but not senile, his vision was still good.
Besides, how could he doubt Grandfather Xiang's love for Raelle? That was the old man's darling granddaughter. He'd never make a wrong decision for her. He always got the best for her in everything. So, how could he pick a man for Raelle so randomly? It seemed that he sent Raelle on so many blind dates only to let her see the world so that even she finally met his real target, Shui Xian, she'd be better able to find his good points.
The old butler completely forgot that he was very dissatisfied with Shui Xian being a second-married man back then and had even called Grandfather Xiang to complain about it for a long time trying to convince him to change his mind. Who cared if Shui Xian was married for the second time? As long as this man new to care and love their Raelle, it was enough.
Nobody is perfect. Such a flaw can be overlooked.
"This son-in-law is capable," complimented Uncle Eric. "It's good that he can take care of Missy. Now, we don't have to worry so much about Missy."
"Yes, yes. You should stop worrying. Your hair is all silver now. I'll feel guilty if you started shedding hair too from worrying about me so much."
Uncle Eric laughed heartily as he listened to Raelle, "It's great that our Missy has even learned to joke now."
