1405 That's Immoral
It was only after dinner that everyone learned what Hyson had been planning the whole day. Once he wanted to get back at Raelle, he had a hundred ways to do so but he chose the most hurtful one to her. He knew exactly what would affect Raelle and he made use of that very well.
"Xian Ge, I asked Uncle Eric to have your room cleaned up. Your luggage has also been sent to your room."
Shui Xian frowned when he heard these inexplicable words of Hyson and looked at him in confusion. "My luggage was delivered to the room yesterday."
"No, that was delivered to Ellie's room. Today, it's been sent to YOUR room!" Hyson smiled so much that he was practically asking for a beating at this point.
Raelle looked at her best friend and asked, "What do you mean by this? Xian and I have the same room."
"No," replied Hyson. "You are mistaken, Ellie. A couple before the marriage is not supposed to live together. In fact, they are not even supposed to see each other before the wedding or talk to each other."
"Which era are you living in?" retorted Raelle as she understood what he really meant at this time. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Ellie, are you forgetting that you wanted a traditional wedding?" reminded Hyson in a good-natured manner like he was doing it for her. "You wanted to follow everything according to tradition that your grandparents followed back in the day. Let's ask Opa if he met his wife before the wedding."
Grandfather Xiang who was prompted to answer felt like he was siting on pins and needles. He was just enjoying tea, why was he dragged into this trouble now? And whose side was he supposed to take here? One was his dearest granddaughter and the other was also his little prince. He could tell that Hyson was trying to purposely annoy Raelle right now but he couldn't bring himself to blame him either.
"Opa, why are you hesitation?" questioned Hyson. "You don't have to take sides. Just tell honestly if you were allowed to meet your wife a week before wedding day?"
Grandfather Xiang sighed heavily and shook his head, "No, my mother said that groom and bride are not supposed to see each other before the wedding ceremony as it will bring bad fortune."
Hyson was happy with this response, no it should be said that he was more than pleased because this was exactly what he wanted to hear. So, he looked at Raelle with an even wider smile on his face, "You see what Opa said. I'm not lying to you."
Raelle wanted to throw a punch at his face but Shui Xian held her hand to stop her. He did not want things to escalate to that point. "Why are you stopping me? I am gonna beat him up!"
Hyson shrugged his shoulders, "She is the one looking for a fight. I did nothing."
"You are not that innocent either," was Mu Chenyan's opinion on this matter. How could she not see things clearly? Especially when Xia Zhao already told her that Hyson was up to no good. Even though she would agree with his small troubles, she did not want things to get out of hands. "Let Xian stay in another room."
"Come with me, Xian Ge," called out Hyson. "I chose the room farthest from Ellie for you."
This comment earned him a glare from Raelle who wanted to bite his flesh right now. But Hyson was still the same brave soul who would never back off. Even if he was a little scared that Raelle might knock him out in sleep and throw him in the dungeon, he still held his ground with the courage that came from the fact that Grandfather Xiang and Mu Chenyan won't let Raelle do something like that.
After making so many plans, he only found this one feasible because technically, it wouldn't bring any harm to Raelle. At least the harm was no visible. Wasn't it just staying apart from Shui Xian for a few days? How could it be difficult for Raelle?
But Hyson shared different views from these people. It might not be difficult for Raelle usually but it was different now. Not because Raelle was becoming dependant on Shui Xian. No, not at all. How could someone like Raelle Xiang change to this point? If she had to go on a business trip for weeks, Raelle would not hesitate to leave Shui Xian behind. However, right now, she was practically forced to separate from Shui Xian. Taking the initiative and doing something forcefully always have different flavors. How could Raelle not care about this forced separation? Hyson took advantage of the peculiarities of Raelle's character to hurt her right now. Who asked her to keep hurting him these days? Was he so easy to bully? Shui Xian pulled Raelle aside and said to her in a low voice, "Don't think about it. Living in a separate room before wedding is really tradition. And it also has its own charms."
"I'd accept it if Hyson had no ulterior motives from bringing up this idea of living separating."
"But we can't blame him too. He is only fighting back after your repeated attacks. I told you to control yourself. He will blow up and see, that's exactly what's happening now. He blew up and threw us far apart from each other," Shui Xian sighed bitterly. How could he not understand Hyson's plan? But he was also feeling helpless as he couldn't really argue about such a small matter. And it was indeed Raelle's idea to hold a traditional wedding. "What he said is right though, we should be glad that at least we would be able to meet each other during the day. Sleeping in different rooms is nothing."
"I'm still not reconciled."
Shui Xian cupped her face and kissed her forehead, "Neither am I. I like holding you to sleep. I am really not used to sleeping without you around. So, I'm having it tough as well. What can we do though? Somethings can't be changed."
"I'm really gonna throw him in the dungeon. No, I'm gonna also tie him up with chains there to teach him a lesson!"
Shui Xian hugged her to calm her down, "Don't even think about it. It actually isn't even that big of a deal either. Let's not do anything harmful. His mental state is fragile. We should not use his weakness against him to hurt him. That's immoral!"
Of course, Raelle wouldn't do something like that. Even if she felt like it, she really couldn't bring herself to really do something like that with Hyson. At the end of the day, he was still her best friend. Even if they were going against each other these days, she couldn't forget this friendship. And her earlier words were just nonsense. This friendship wasn't so easy to break that she said it and it broke down.
