Chapter 29: He's dead... What just happened!!
Derek was shocked when a sniper arrived and from the glimpse of flame he saw the sniper was in the same building he slaughtered his way out of.
His thoughts were muddy as the silver bullet spiraling with such binding elegance which hid a killing blow sped towards him, he was stuck.. suddenly the silver light glowing at the engravings crept up to the eastern dragon and it shone with a mild silver light subconsciously prompting Derek the throw it.
A mocking grin found its way to the woman's face, there was no way Derek will survive this, they were fighting close to the bus and Derek had stupidly thrown his dagger directly towards the bus however before her widened eyes; the dagger disintegrated together with Derek as a flash of white lightening swooshed passed the bus and Derek was gone, he just phased passed the bus like a ghost!.
WHOOSH! A bright white light flashed and Derek appeared, he turned his head and saw the bus behind him, 'what just ha.... Argh!!" He screamed as he felt a thousand needles Piercing through bones and digging into his flesh whilst draining his strength like a vampire who hasn't tasted blood for a long time.
Beads of sweat covered Derek's face and his sight took in double images, lifting his lead filled legs he took a step and staggered almost hitting the floor, and in his moment of weakness Derek forgot an enemy couldn't be forgotten until he/she was dead and unfortunately for Derek..
The silver bullet left an orange trail as it pierced into the thick slightly armored bus, the threat wasn't gone as the sharp tip of the bullet opened revealing a smaller less sharper bullet which continued its mission, it Burst through the other part and collided with Derek who was still struggling to regain his footing.
The impact lifted him off the ground and flung him to the distance. He rolled on the floor with blood gushing from his mouth like an opened tap, but at this critical moment his thoughts became clear, leaving this place became a top priority for he couldn't win against those two, with such a battered body.
He looked down and the view of his bloodied chest and abdomen appeared before him, though he felt no pain from the wound which appeared to be at his left chest, his body which was bathed in crimson liquid told him otherwise, that bullet must have done more than just hit him.
Whilst his thoughts ran, his eyes revealed no emotion. His vision was growing more blurry and even his hands began to appear in doubles, he raised his head and stared at darkness which enveloped the distance, the road seemed to Vanish into a different world as even with his current sight he couldn't see through the eerie calmness that floated through the darkness.
It was completely different from where he stood, though there were lights the place was devastated with blood and mangled bodies, it was horrible and heart gripping compared to the calm peaceful abode before him.
The sound of the woman's heels hitting the ground snapped him back to reality, she was close and his ears could pick up a slight change, the sniper must have noticed him as well. He still wondered why the woman hadn't teleported straight to him, but now wasn't the time to think about such unimportant things, he was severely injured and had to leave this place immediately and so far only one possible option was presented before him, he had to run.
But it wasn't that easy as he felt a thick heavy cloud of anger whispering for him to turn back and kill, he clearly traced the root to the western dragon, his eyes contracted as confusion filled his eyes, what kind of medium is this and how wasn't he able to find out before. The answer laid right before him, a subtle glow rested atop The eastern dagger, it had interfered this time.
The western dragon never understood the word retreat or run, but as the situation may have it, there was no other option. Derek had a strange feeling, the western dragon brought a strange connection that seemed universal, there was something strange with these daggers, they weren't just spatial daggers.
But he had no time to ponder, the eastern dagger left his hand and sped into the distance, immediately it left his palm Derek had already vanished. Appearing tens of meters ahead, the large fangs of darkness laid before him, its stillness was quite stifling but Derek had no time for this as loud shots rang behind him, it seemed they decided to chase after him. His knees felt weak as they almost touched the ground, time was running out, he instantly threw his western dagger and it disappeared into the darkness, even with such thick darkness the silver glow from its blade reassured Derek but shockingly he found out he didn't teleport, how was this possible.. The dagger pierced through the asphalt road like butter and the silver glow flickering for a moment and died out, before him awaited the darkness which had consumed his dagger.
This scene shocked Derek to his core, what was going on, he thought as a piercing pain shot through his mind, it felt like his head was being splitted, there was no injury on his body but his agonizing screams grew louder.
"Uhhhh!!!" He screamed and fell to the ground once again, the sides of his vision began to darken and with much effort he stretched his hands towards the western dagger in the distance but it didn't respond, even with his fading consciousness he still beckoned for it.
BADUM! BADUM!! His bleeding heart thumped against his ribcage, sending tremors of its last strength through his body. With his newly found strength his eastern dagger left his hands and he vanished. He appeared close to the western dagger and bent down, his fingers wrapped around its exquisite hilt and he pulled it out.
His black unreadable eyes scanned his dagger as various possibilities flashed through his mind, he now understood, turning back he swore..
"I will have my revenge" he muttered as his eyes glowed silver for a moment and disappeared like it never happened, unknown to Derek the western dagger trembled softly.
He threw his dagger and vanished, he kept teleporting until he suddenly blacked out in the middle of tearing through space, with his brain shut down, his teleportation was canceled and his momentum played a different role... BAM! Derek slammed against the rough asphalt road and with every roll, his skin tore. Blood spilled and his chances of leaving this world came closer.
Finally he stopped, Derek lay unconscious with several disturbing injuries scarring his once sculpted body, his blood forming a crimson background which highly contrasted with the black road.
Few minutes later, a white luxurious car was approaching the scene, a woman with blonde hair was at the back seat, there was a Holo screen showing the news about the alliance of the organizations and talks about it being a historical moment was all over the stronghold, the anchor seemed invigorated and he even went as far as demonstrating with his arms.
His words were numb to the woman as her eyes were filled with countless thoughts, throughout these three months she had not archived a single thing in the organization, she was always in a bad mood and she even went as far as imprisoning Vera and promising that she would stay there for the rest of her life if they do not find "him".
It has been three months and she had gradually lost hope, maybe he wasn't even alive, Angel would be arriving the next day and she didn't know how Luke would break the news to her.
She turned to her watch and a screen popped out. She began to read some information. She had a meeting tomorrow so she had to be prepared.
The vehicle slowly passed Derek and kept on moving, the driver saw the disturbing sight on the road but he felt it had nothing to do with him, besides with the large amount of blood that coated the road, that man was probably dead.
"Seems like tomorrow's news will have the picture of a naked dead man on it" he mumbled.
"Did you say anything?" The blonde woman queried. n0vElUsb.c0m
"No ma'am, nothing at all, I was just thinking of the party we would host for Miss Angel" he gave a sincere smile, he didn't want to bother her about a dead man, she had a lot on her plate already.
".. I don't know if any party will be hosted" the woman smiled wryly.
"But why, an...." He couldn't finish his words as the woman hollered "did you see that!"
"What!, There's nothing there ma'am" the driver squinted his eyes while looking forward but he did not see anything.
Suddenly a silver light flashed again, this time brighter.
"Did you see it!!" The woman hollered this time louder.
""Yes, what is that" the driver mumbled with confusion.
The woman turned back and muttered "it came from the back!".
A woman hid behind a four story building and stared at Derek, she gripped her dagger tightly and etched towards the sidewalks, she instantly halted when she saw the car which had passed a while ago slowly coming back, she stared at the incoming car and turned to Derek, she gritted her teeth and decided.
