48 pack of hyenas, family in trouble.
"Let him go."
Three stout men heard a cold voice behind them which caused them to turn back, with the aid of the dull orange light on the pole they saw a tall man in a casual black top that had a few designs and black jeans which blended with his sneakers, his hands were in his pockets as his pitch black eyes gazed at them with nonchalance.
They sized him up, other than his com-watch he had nothing else on him. Suddenly he began walking towards them as words left his lips "I never knew thugs were in this sector."
Derek walked into the alley and stopped a few meters away from the three thugs, he saw a kid maybe in his fifteen, his face was bruised with blood trickling from his torn lips though he still held a backpack tightly, from the kid's eyes Derek could see a bright light emerging from the depth of his eyes, seems like the boy's hope had resurrected as he saw Derek.
He had managed to buy the drugs his dying mother needed but these men (the scouts of that group) had caught him on the road and chased him, he had borrowed money from their boss and hadn't returned it, but he couldn't raise any money to pay back as his dying mother was his top priority, he had heard about the ruthlessness of this group but they were the only ones willing to give him money.
He had run from the clinic which was at sector C to sector B hoping to get the attention of the police but he was caught before he could appear on the sidewalk. He was already exhausted and was only standing due to his willpower but hope slowly vanished from his eyes as these men surrounded him.
"Red will surely enjoy this one, we're going to get a raise boys," the first tug who had an unkept beard said to his partners while staring at the boy like he was some trophy, the other two chuckled as they could imagine using the money to go to the usual, maybe luck would finally be on their side and they would win a massive amount of money.
As they etched closer the cornered boy shouted with red eyes "Get away you bastards" He looked around and there was no escape so he chose a different method, screaming. Maybe someone would hear him and help but after a while, nothing happened which caused the thugs to laugh with mockery thickly laced within their laughter.
The first thug grabbed his bag and the kid's eyes turned red as his entire body aura changed "It's for my mother!" he screamed as he would never allow anyone to take away the only thing that could save his mother, without her what would happen to him and his sister!.
Hearing Derek's flat tone, the boy shivered, it seems like the man who saved him wasn't some sort of hero, he didn't want to take chances with this strange hero of his, so he spoke the truth "I borrowed from their group... but before you say anything let me explain" the boy hurriedly added when he saw Derek's expression. "It's for my mom, she's seriously ill and I had to get her medicine"
From the boy's words, Derek caught a useful word, group! There was a good number of thugs belonging to that group and they were going for the boy's family and it turned out to be his fault, though he tried to help his mum, he had ended up signing a contract with a pack of hyenas.
Derek sighed, he stared at the scrawny kid who was now walking away while tightly holding his bag, that kid will probably not survive this night and his family will be wiped out alongside him,
shaking his head, Derek began walking but stopped after a couple of steps and stared at the kid in the distance, unlike him who fainted and did nothing, that kid would surely fight knowing there was no way he would win.
"Let your luck decide" Derek muttered as he called Christopher.
The projection of a hologram with a solemn-looking Christopher appeared "Hey kid, where are you?"
"Umm... there's a situation"
"What?"
