Adam had to admit that he felt a little nauseous this time around, killing another human like this. The feeling of taking someone's life and witnessing it in bullet time was simply too vivid for him to ignore.
'Ugh. I am definitely going to have nightmares after this.'
He stood up from above the dead body of his latest kill, only to feel his legs buckling under him but he managed to avoid falling on the ground by getting a hold of himself.
The skills he had just used were too mentally taxing for the current him. The strain on his mind intensified further since he had gone even higher than when he used it to kill the first sniper.
'Well, at least I found a new technique. Though I need to ameliorate it and use it conservatively.'
By using all his skills together, he was able to create an incredible synergy that made him nearly equal to a top-grade homing device.
There were still many small problems with this technique, however. After all, using it in a fight without a way of distracting the opponent was simply impossible as it just took way too much time to prepare and use on enemies.
Perhaps in the future when he increased the proficiency of his skills then this problem would cease to persist but until then, he would need to be conservative and precise in using this technique.
'Hey, is it possible to buy proficiency in a skill with the use of Karma?'
[No.]
It was a clear-cut answer as always. Adam frowned at the blatant show of disrespect before shaking his head with a sigh.
'The two of us need to have a discussion later.'
Genesis was very useful so he initially decided to put up with his way of acting.
But now, he realized that he had enough shit in his life already and didn't want to deal with a conscious entity in his mind that continued to act so belligerently toward him in every possible moment of their interaction.
Speaking of Genesis...
Adam willed the book to appear and opened it to check it out. He realized that the book had opened to form some words about his curse when he was dying earlier and he was eager to know what the book had tried to convey to him.
The first thing he saw after reading through the pages though were the strings of notifications that showed no signs of ending.

[Karma Obtained: +200]
[Total Karma: 360]
Adam whistled in surprise before sighing bitterly after reading the description of the way in which he obtained his karma.
'This system is basically telling me to become evil.'
He had noticed this earlier with the Pivots. But acts of 'evil' were the ones that gave the greatest short-term rewards to him while the 'good' acts seem to be rather lacking.
[It's simply because negative emotions are easier to bring forth and thus result in a greater gathering of Karma.]
Adam nodded, acknowledging the book spirit's words that were conveyed in its usual robotic tone. It was hard to make someone like you, but it was pretty easy to make them hate you.
The same went for Love and Lust and so on and so forth. It was always easy to be evil and hard to be good and that principle seemed to be ingrained in the Karmic path.
If Adam gave up on all restraints and focused solely on farming Karma then...
'Don't think about that.'
He had rested enough and he could feel that the fight between Natasha and the hunk of a man had come to an end.
He spread his senses, unwilling to move, and realized that the outside of the factory had become a complete and utter mess.
'So this is her power, huh...'
It was rather frightening if he had to be honest. Natasha looked like a true force of nature.
But Adam was not particularly scared of her powers or rather he was not scared of her. He knew very well that Natasha must have done all this for him...
She could have simply fled the scene, after all. But she didn't and fought them to avenge him. Still, the way she manipulated Ice and Snow gave him an idea of what he wanted to try in the future.
Though he doubted that he had the mastery necessary as he was right now... This was something he could slowly train in the future.
Once Natasha subdued the man and crushed his cybernetic arm, she turned around to direct a deep look of confusion and bewilderment toward the factory.
She had felt the attacks that had been launched from inside and remembered clearly that they were exactly the same as Adam used.
But... That should be impossible.
Bashing the human, who had been fighting her till now, once again, just to make sure that he was out for the count, she took him in her maws and advanced toward the factory.
Her heart was beating powerfully against her beastly chest but when she finally entered inside and looked at Adam standing with difficulty with the dead body of the second mercenary under him, she opened her maws in utter surprise. This prompted the body to fall onto the ground but she didn't have the time to focus on that.
Her body shrunk rapidly until she took her Human form and rushed at Adam at full speed while shouting with unconcealed joy in her tone...
"Adam!"
Adam barely had time to react as he was tackled by a rapidly approaching Natasha.
He hugged her back on reflex as the two of them fell under her tremendous momentum.
Sitting on top of him, Natasha looked down at Adam with blurry eyes as tears threatened to fall at any moment from her sockets.
"Are you really alive?"
Adam coughed awkwardly due to the sight before him. "You should wear clothes first, Natasha."
It seemed that Natasha's transformation didn't spare her clothes either. Leaving her completely naked from head to toe.
As a result, he now had a smoking hot golden-haired Russian girl sitting on top of his crotch while being completely bare for him to witness.
Even though she was quite lacking in the chest department compared to someone like Sae, this did not change the fact that she was an extremely enchanting, ravishing, and beautiful woman. Adam almost thought that it was cheating to be this much beautiful as he witnessed Natasha's naked form on top of her.
Adam looked away out of respect for his friend, not willing to bring her further shame, while Natasha blushed and coughed out loud, not knowing what to do in this situation. She was feeling too many emotions at this moment, so much so that her head went completely blank, rendering her unable to gather her bearings.
It was then...
"Princess!"
...Two women wearing black suits, akin to the bodyguard uniform, rushed past the gate of the factory and stopped in surprise at the sight that greeted them.
They had rushed at full speed after receiving the [Call of the Alpha] but they would have never thought that such a scene would be waiting for them to witness.
The two women became excited at the prospects that this situation entailed.
Perhaps their princess had finally found a mate for herself? They were sure that the Leader of their clan would be really happy to witness such a scene.
"This... This isn't what it looks like."
Natasha covered her face in utter shame, embarrassment, and unceasing agony. This situation was not how she expected it to go at all. Today seemed to be a dark day for her.
------
After Natasha and Adam left the premise of the battlefield with the 'sole' surviving members of the mercenary group, the roar of an SUV resounded throughout the devastated landscape as a group of armed people jumped out of it after they reached the destination of the devastating fight.
They were all wearing black bodysuits as well as small pieces of armor over their bodies, covering their vitals. Their head was covered by white helmets that covered the upper half of their face, like a visor of sort, and they were all holding special rifles in their hands.
Observing all this, Theresa, the current director of the LAPPD organization, who was also present in the SUV, sighed under her breath...
"See, I told you we just had to ignore the fight. Now. simply bring the cleaning crew and erase all the proofs of the battle."
Humans could not observe supernatural events normally. But they could still see a destroyed factory.
This was why the cleaning crew was perhaps the most important group of an organization as it took care of the aftermath of a clash between the Supernaturals.
They could repair buildings in a matter of minutes or at most hours. This was a transcendental concept.
Standing next to her, Makoto nodded silently to her words.
Theresa grinned as she glanced at her pupil, "So, what did you think of that fight?"
The LAPPD might have been slow to answer her call but that was not the case for Makoto. She had rushed immediately after noticing the disturbance. So she was able to perfectly witness what transpired in this scene.
"Dangerous. But inexperienced..."
"Heh... Well, he would need to be like that to get their attention."
Adam Gospel. Her instincts were screaming at her that she needed to look at him, not as a mere supernatural creature but something else, something greater.
"Well, he is just a small fish in a great ocean. At least, right now..."
She was even, more or less, thinking of recruiting the young boy. All paranormal departments had a quota for supernatural creatures that needed to be filled in as regular members.
Theresa hated things like this. But she was not strong enough to discard the system, yet.
So for now. She should simply do her job.
