After laughing and joking around for a while with each other, they finally calmed down and started to act and think about the situation ahead of them.
"Anyway. More seriously, do you think Eve wants us to enter the Dreamscape or something?"
"Let me see, did our beloved grandma send us without the slightest hint to another dimension in the hopes that we enter a world most likely full of cannibalistic monsters with far more experience than us that would be delighted to kill us at a moment's notice? Yeah. It checks out. Pretty sure she did send us here for that."
"But… What would happen if we simply die in this plane?"
This was the question of the day once again. The uncertainty of his death was the reason stopping him from committing suicide and was making him hesitant about his next choice.
"Okay. Let me bring in a theory I have." The Psychiatrist Adam spoke quietly and in a solemn tone.
"I am listening."
"The book says that the Dream Force cannot be used in the real world but it's extremely good at nourishing the soul, right? Seems like many Dreamwalkers use the Dreamscape as a sort of place for training themselves. At least from the little bits of info I have gathered, that seems to be the case here."
"Yeah."
"Now for them, dying is dangerous because dying in the Dreamscape means dying in the real world too, right?"
"Yep, yep…"
"But we are basically immortal, right? Pretty sure that if this place was enough to actually kill us, people would have found a way to kill, Cain eons ago, right?"
"Well…"
"So here is my theory about this place. What if… we take this place as a virtual reality game of some sort…?"
"Oooh…"
"We come. We train, we level ourselves by killing the monsters here, that we are able to kill of course, and when we die…"
"...We lose some levels and simply respawn for the second round…"
"Then we can come back and try again…"
"...And again…"
"...Until we give up or are satisfied with our growth."
"Oh…"
The two Adams stopped their line of thought. Both of their breathing hurried as they realized the implications of what they had just figured out about this place.
This was a wild theory but… If it was indeed right then, this was like a free training ground for them with absolutely no loss whatsoever.
"We need to die. Now…"
"We need to see what the penalty for death is in this plane. Dying should help us figure things out and advance from this stalemate condition…"
"Should we really go through with it? This isn't exactly a Dreamscape yet."
"Then…"
Adam looked all around him. Finally, there was a sudden thought that spurred in his mind. A boon that he had completely forgotten about.
"We have EX levels of Luck, right?"
"Yep."
"Well… Let's see how good that luck is."
"What direction do we take?"
"Does it even matter? Everything will be up to Luck anyways?"
"You're kinda right. Then… Let's go to the right?"
"Which right?"
"My… You know what? Forget it. Let's take this direction."
And so Real Adam and the Psychiatrist Adam started flying(?) swimming(?) in a random direction, deciding once again to be a little more reckless than what the normal mind should allow one to be.
"By the way, didn't you say that we wouldn't be reckless ever again? Do you know? A few hours ago? After we knocked out everyone in a kilometer radius or something along those lines?"
"Extraordinary time calls for extraordinary measures my friend… What's more, what is the worst that could happen here?"
"Dude! You seriously just went out and said it, didn't you? Are you serious right now? That's a red flag dude!!!"
"I like danger."
Adam chuckled but then, he was forced to stop in his tracks. Far ahead, he could feel a presence closing on him quite fast.
"Well…"
"Seems like the flag was too powerful."
But no sooner did he say this that he was finally able to see the one that was approaching him.
"I am late! Oh, I am so late! The queen won't be happy!"I think you should take a look at
It was…
"A bunny girl?"
Adam was speechless at the sight ahead.
As weird as it looked, the bunny girl was running(?) in the sea.
Whenever she took a few steps she would look down at her watch on her wrist and would freak out while screaming about being late or being decapitated by the Queen or something like that.
What truly surprised Adam though was that the bunny girl was really a true bunny girl.
Not the type of woman disguising in a sexy costume with bunny ear contraptions above their head.
But rather a full-on bunny that had the height of a human and was hopping on its legs, its entire body covered in pristine white fur.
It also had obvious human female characteristics such as the pair of relatively large breasts that were jiggling as she ran hastily in the depths of sea.
Adam dismissed the illusion of his Psychiatrist self as he didn't need to fake a conversation with someone anymore. He already had company coming toward him at full speed.
'Should I just kill her?'
While it was concerning that his first thought after meeting another sentient being was murder, Adam had logical reasoning behind this decision of his.
After all, he didn't know who the woman was and how strong she might be. She might be a danger to him in this unknown plane.
'Hum… I guess I will have to play it by ear.'
In the end, he decided to not be the one to start the hostility between both parties. He slowly brought up the power of 'Death' but made sure to hide it inside as he did not want to frighten the little bunny girl.
"Hello! Do you mind giving me some help?"
"Kyaa! Don't eat me! I swear I don't taste good. Please take a carrot instead!"
Sadly, it seemed like his preparations were utterly useless in front of this frightened girl.
"Ah…"
Adam watched helplessly as the first person he met in this place was crouching down and crying just because he greeted her.
'Sigh, this is going to be a pain in the proverbial arse.'
He facepalmed at that realization, already knowing that this woman was going to be troublesome for very different reasons than what he had first thought up in his mind.
"I mean you no harm, lady?"
"Sniff~ Really?"
"Of course. I am totally friendly."
Adam gave a gentle smile as he made sure to hide the power of 'Death' even deeper within him as he faced the scrutiny of the girl.
"Ah!"
Then, as if startled, she suddenly jumped up into the air(?) seas(?) and started to hop left and right.
"I am late! I am so late! What am I going to do!?"
"If I may, perhaps I could give you a hand?"
"You… You would do that?"
She seemed surprised as she asked again, her eyes seemingly filled with Hope but also filled with hesitation.
"Of course. Helping others makes me really happy."
Adam made sure to act as normally as possible without mentioning how he was lost in this imaginary plane. It was better to appear bigger than he was as long as no one challenged him to a fight.
"Then… Just a little bit okay? But you must not enter, okay? If you do then the Queen will be furious at me and I will really be killed."
"Don't worry. I will be very careful."
"Then. Okay. Thanks."
"Wait before you go, may I know what your name is?"
"Me? I do not have a name. We do not use names here. They simply call me the White Rabbit. Hehe. What about you?"
"Me?"
Adam's eyebrows rose into a great arc as a genuine smile bloomed on his face, having a great idea in his mind about what identity to don on this plane.
His clothes changed and took the appearance of those that Hae-Won had given him with so much love and affection.
Holding the luxurious cane in his hands, he made a theatrical bow to her while his expression was hidden by the top hat he adorned while getting into this persona of his.
"You can call me— The Magician."
