As Adam continued his massacre of the other gamblers at the gambling table while thinking of his reconversion as a Gambler King, the personnel of the casino were sweating bullets seeing his, quite literally, breathtaking gameplay.
After all, while it was acceptable and even necessary for them to lose sometimes, it was necessary to do this on their own terms and conditions, not the players'.
Sitting inside the main office of the most famous casino in Sin City, two men, with slightly dark skin complexion, frowned hard as they watched the TV before them which depicted Adam's game.
"Is he cheating?"
An employee wiped his forehead while trembling on his feet as he explained the overall situation to them.
"We found nothing."
"Heh."
One of the men sneered at the employee's claim, "I guess it's one of ours. Does this guy not know the rules?"
All supernatural creatures had developed senses and many weirds skill down the line that would let them win big in a gambling scenario. If they were allowed to gamble freely, the economy would be broken quite fast.
This was why there were many established laws restricting this kind of action.
It was pretty weird for criminals like them to rely on the law. However, while many supernatural creatures didn't mind breaking the law of humanity, they were much more hesitant about doing so when it came to the supernatural side of the world.
The power of deterrence was simply too strong for them to think otherwise.
Breaking the law of normal humans only means a few months or years in prison.
Breaking the laws of the Paranormal Department present inside of a city was none other than being imprisoned in another dimension or just simply being executed by some bounty hunter.
"He seems like a newbie and he looks quite young too. Perhaps someone who has newly awakened?"
The two men were the Fernandez brothers also known as the snake brothers— Diego and Miguel Fernandez.
While they were humans, they had obtained their title because of how vicious they were when push comes to shove. Their code of conduct was as violent and insidious as their names.
But they were also slippery as an eel to act when they were clearly outmatched.
He hoped that this was merely a troublemaker. It had been a long time since he had the occasion to fight someone to his heart's content.
"Hehe. My bones are itching already."
Miguel sighed at his brother's conduct. His brother was too bloodthirsty.
He didn't understand what it felt like to just be minding your own business and suddenly having a torrent of fire break your home and exterminate half of your gang.
Even now he could still remember that day as vividly as though it happened just yesterday.
Even the smell of burning flesh and skin as well as the cries of his companion still echoed in his ears and filled his mind with endless agony.
"Ugh..."
"Brother?"
"It's nothing."
Miguel couldn't afford to show weakness right now.
In their world, showing weakness than no different than asking to be removed by your allies or even your own blood-related family.
"Once again, don't hurt the boy. He is a precious guest of ours."
Miguel spoke offhandedly to dismiss his inner fears but his eyes widened when he once again gazed on the screen showing the image of Adam's winnings but then looking and winking at him through the screen.
All of a sudden, he cackled out loud and started mouthing words that made his hair stand on end.
'I can hear you you.'
"Wha—"
Miguel was sure that he was about to faint because of a heart stroke.
This was quite the surprise he was getting from this newcomer.
Sadly for him— this was just the beginning.

[1]: A reminder but the Primogenitor of the Werewolves isn't exactly a werewolf. He is a shapeshifter and as such has many different descendants. One of these descendants is the werewolves. In my story, Mermaids also fall in the shapeshifter category.
