Chapter 386 CH 372: YOU KNOW HER (1)

Thanks to his flying speed, Adam was able to move fast enough to reach the secret headquarters in record time. It was truly funny how one could become so used to something as beautiful as flying.

The road was the same as always and the elevator was ever so boring so all he did was wait while he was being led down by it.

He wondered idly if he should try leaving a ghost here to see and observe the premise even while being absent. It wasn't like he particularly wanted to spy on them and he doubted his ghost could traverse the different dimensions without being shredded.

But this was something worth testing. If the ghost could break through all the surveillance systems of this place then there were few places he could not spy on. This would tremendously increase their utility and he would be able to use them to spy on hunters and other such targets.

'I should have tried them on Mom.'

If his ghost could go past the instincts of Cecilia, then he was sure that no one in the world below a zodiac or special being could detect them.

Knowing the maximum distance he could use a soul would also be very useful.

'Speaking of. If I go into the dream world, what will happen to the souls?'

He frowned a little. This was something he couldn't allow himself to test with people close to him. He knew that the soul was currently sleeping and did not develop their new sense of self.

Something bad could happen if he wasn't careful.

It seemed like during this night he would have to go to a distant inhabited island and rest there while observing how the soul behaved when he went to another world.

If they lost control and became vengeful souls he would have to consider this when using them and keeping them close to him.

'So many things to test again and again. I wish there was someone who could simply come and give me all the answers.'

Sadly, life was never that easy. As a primogenitor, he was the trailblazer of his path and the only one who could teach him anything was himself.

Experiments and failure were things he could not escape from no matter how he wished to do so.

He didn't know how long it would take but one day he would find all the answers to his question.

When the Elevator finally came down and the door opened, Adam thought he would see Mark behind the door as always but he had sensed that someone else was waiting for him.

"Hello, Hunter."

The man who greeted him as he walked out was a slightly brown man with a sketchy smile. Adam recognized him as he was the man who had been following Mark when he came here for the first time with his mother to be graded and become an official hunter.

"If I remember You are Miguel, right?"

"Indeed. I am happy that someone as insignificant as I was recognized by a mighty hunter."

Adam gave him a funny look. His way of speaking aside, it was quite ironic how he was facing a second Miguel after killing one not even 24 hours ago.

[Code Name: Hand of Midas. Position: Alchemist. Rank: Gold.]

While the person was wearing a mask as were all the other hunters Adam could recognize this green hair everywhere.

'What the fuck is Medusa doing?'

If at least this was somewhat logical as she was the one who gave him the. mission, The second one left him confused.

[Code Names: Ghost Spider. Position: Rear-end fighter. Rank: Gold.]

He looked at the photo of a Ninja-like pink-haired woman with her face covered in a Fox mask with confusion.

This reminded him of something.

'Huh...Wasn't it the cosplay Sae had on her?'

He remembered she had worn those clothes because of some urban legend and used it as cosplay.

Well, at least he now knew the origin of that legend.

But more importantly,

"Why is a Gold rank interested in my mission?"

"Well..."

Miguel looked at the application while scratching his head.

"The captain didn't explain much. He simply told me that if you were confused. You simply had to ask Miss Freud for an explanation."

"I see."

He nodded and continued to look at the application, his eyes still trailing on the picture.

While he recognized the cosplay. He had a weird feeling.

He hated that nagging feeling that wouldn't let go.

Thankfully he just had to ask.

.

.

.

"Oh? Ghost Spider? It's your batshit crazy ex-girlfriend."

Welp.

The answer was not what he had expected.
