Paris was definitely one of the greatest tourist cities and while there were worldwide renowned infrastructure such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. There was another place that was no less renowned for people who wanted to search for it.
Le Moulin Rouge or the Red Mill was perhaps one of the most popular attractions though definitely for less savory and romantic reasons than those who came to visit the tower or the Louvre.
The Red Mill was a place where beautiful shows were presented but also a place where the wildest fantasy could happen if you knew how to find the right person.
After a huge fire broke out in 2027, it was destroyed but the government made sure to swiftly repair it. Of course that was the official story.
The reality was that the Red Mill had been destroyed by a group of activist supernatural who had accused the Red Mill of conducting shady deals and hiding the traffic of rare supernatural creatures such as fairies or even more humanoid ones such as elves or vampires.
Today was a special day. A day that marked the anniversary of the reconstruction of the Red Mill and for this reason, they were exposing a very special Painting. The painting of the Mill as it was when it was first created. This was a very beautiful piece of art but more importantly, it cost half a fortune.
The exhibit would last three days and three nights and this was supposed to be the first night.
"What do you think of this, dear sister?"
A lanky young man with golden hair wearing a simple but stylish two-piece black suit asked gently. In his hand was a glass half filled with champagne while his other arm was occupied as he held the woman close to him.
The woman was a little shorter than the man but still stood at an impressive 170 cm. She had hair as black as the night and was wearing an equally dark dress with a slit that reached the mid of her thighs. She did not have many ornaments on her but it was impossible to miss the beautiful butterfly arranged on her hair.
A beautiful young woman in her own right but she had nothing but a bored expression on her face, "Do you really have time to worry about the history of this place when we are about to face such a dangerous situation?"
She sighed and looked up at the people mingling. This place was something akin to a small ballroom. A good place that could be used in between shows or for occasions like this.
"What do you mean danger? We are simply here to Observe. After all, this isn't every day that a Vampire Princess walks in the open. I am honestly more surprised there isn't more surveillance."
'10 seconds remaining.'
He looked all around. He knew very well that this job might really be their last and not because they would retire after this. This operation was very risky and dying was highly possible.
Even so, they still choose to accept this mission and while he may have regret, he was always and definitely a professional.
A small top hat appeared on his head out of nowhere and he adjusted it.
'5 seconds remaining.'
Finally, a black mask covered half of his face.
'3, 2, 1 and Action!"
The whole ballroom was immediately plunged into full darkness then one place was illuminated by a spotlight.
Showing two silhouettes. One clad in a magician outfit and another wearing clothes befitting an assistants
"Ladies and gentlemen! I have a great news for you!"
The people looked around, half confused, wondering if this was some kind of secret show.
"Today, under your disbelieving eyes, we will make sure to steal one of the most exquisite Masterpieces! So, do not miss one moment."
The light vanished again and when everyone looked at the place where the painting should have been. They realized that it had completely vanished.
Chaos erupted immediately.
