Chapter 223: Experiment 2

Several seconds of thoughtful silence passed.

Was there still hope of turning at least Yuri into a Golden Savage?

In the outside world, Mark stood with a peacock by his side. For the moment, it was his Dungeon Heart Seed.

Yes, while he was at it, he had transformed it into a loyal servant. The peacock sat on his lap, looking around curiously as he meditated.

Meanwhile, standing in his World Space, Mark had closed his eyes. His senses were sharp beyond comparison while he was inside this place, and thus, he sensed little droplets of golden blood scattered on the ground.

This was the Heart Blood he had used on that sheep-turned man as an experiment. Now, it was all over the place after the man exploded. But it was inside Mark's world, so he could still salvage it. seaʀᴄh thё Nôvel(F)ire.nёt website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

As Yuri, Dona, Reol'ran and the hamster stared, he raised his hand and summoned the golden blood towards him. He could summon anything inside his World Space. Golden drops of blood floated around him, then gently converged in his hand.

He kicked a stone up into his hand and turned it into a glassed container. Smiling, he poured the golden liquid into it and now, they had salvaged the previously used blood.

"Let's try the experiment once more," he said.

Dona frowned and said: "Trying the same thing multiple times and expecting different results is just so dumb. The earlier sheepman exploded, the same thing will happen if you try the same thing again, right?!"

Mark chuckled. "Who said you weren't bright? Dona is a genius!"

Most people didn't even understand that simple fact. They would try the same thing, again and again, and wouldn't get a desirable result. Then, they would hope for a different result the next time around without changing what they were doing.

How stupid was that?

"He is not trying the same thing as before," Yuri said, somewhat intrigued. "According to what Reol'ran said, the man exploded when he transformed into a Golden Savage—because the World Will self exploded inside it.

"But now, there is no World Will inside this golden blood. Mark said earlier, right? When the man exploded, he ate what World Will was there."

Reol'ran nodded. "That might mean that the blood might work without issues now, since the World Will can't interfere now.

"Or it can also mean the blood is already useless and wouldn't work without the World Will part within it."

Dona just nodded. Did she understand anything?

Of course, it was time she should go and find her butterflies somewhere.

Calmly, Mark created another man using Alchemic Shapeshifting and a new Sheep Man was created. But this time, it was a bit different.

It was not entirely human in appearance.

It had fluffy, sheep ears and horns.

It was easy to add these appearances on top of a human using Alchemic Shapeshifting. And thus, another race has been created inside Mark's World.

Sheep Man race.

Calmly, he fed the Sheep Man the golden liquid in his hand and the man stood there, motionless for a moment before running away.

Mark was a bit surprised.

"He has grown stronger," Yuri said. "Right?"

Mark nodded. "Physically, he has grown strong enough to match a Lower Demon or a B-rank Hunter."

"But he didn't explode," Dona said. "nor did he become one of those people with a third eye or mask for face. Savage, I mean."

"Well, this is what I expected," Reol'ran said. "The blood still contains the properties to make someone stronger, but it can't make someone into a Savage without the piece of World Will assisting it from the inside."

Yuri frowned irritatedly. She did want to become a savage—now more than ever. With how weak she was, she was of no help to Mark and she was becoming a weakness to him more than a support.

"The question is—why is the World Will inside the blood not helping now?" She asked. "It helped others transform, but now, it is not helping. Why is that?"

Mark rubbed his forehead with his hand. There was a thin line there, the place where his Mask was stored.

When Yanchen transformed into a savage, there was no problem. Why was it failing noe?

There were two possible reasons.

One, it worked  with Yanchen because his human body was designed to be capable of absorbing the savage blood like Yuri said.

In that case, it could be assumed that it didn't work on the humans Mark created because their design had a fundamental difference from a normal human of the Savage World.

Two, it didn't work with the humans he made because the World Will hated him. That was a possibility.

Was it why the World Will exploded?

Mark had eaten its Avatar. One way or the other, did the World Will hate him for that? Or, did the World Will even know he ate its avatar?

There was a simple way to find out.

"Now, we have 6 remaining bottles of the golden blood," he said. "We should try using one of them on a normal human from the savage world."

Everyone agreed on that. If that succeeded, then the fault was with the design of the Hunter World humans themselves.

A problem well put was a problem half solved.

Quickly, Mark's eyes snapped open in the real world. The peacock was resting serenely on his lap, but it suddenly opened its eyes widely.

Mark absorbed it into his World Space and replaced it with the small hamster, then, he flapped his wings and flew into the skies.

He needed a test subject and he didn't want to take someone from the Savage Island inside his World Space unless absolutely necessary.

In just a few minutes, he was looking down at a human boy from the skies.

The young boy was of strapping age, but at the moment, he was being chased by a bunch of other humans with torches and weapons in hand.

"Kill him!"

"Surround him!"

"His mindset is too disgusting. Kill him!"
