Upon hearing The Keeper's serious tone, Daniel nodded in understanding, but he couldn't shake off the thought of what The Keeper meant by nobody being able to enter, no matter how strong they are. Was The Keeper confident in his ability to take on anything the real world throws at him? If so, just how strong is he?
Daniel pushed the thought to the back of his mind as he had something else to inquire about. He was curious about the green square on the Achievement Board.
Pointing towards the green square, Daniel asked, "What will happen when I complete a task in the Achievement Board?"
The Keeper turned to face the Achievement Board and touched the green screen. As he did, the screen changed from green to yellow, and the words on it transformed from "Survive the Trial by Combat" to "The Safety Room."
"This door leads to the safety room. Let me show it to you," said The Keeper as he led Daniel towards the safety room.
As they entered the safety room, Daniel was astonished by the opulent and spacious interior filled with various amenities such as a TV, sofa, double bed, fridge, air conditioner, and a fully functional kitchen, bar, and shower. In addition, there was another door with an exit sign and a small window that allowed people inside to see the situation outside.
While Daniel was still in awe of the room, The Keeper explained its purpose with a smile.
"This is the Safety Room. You can use it as a refuge from your enemies or hide here if you're being pursued. You can also bring other guests here if you don't mind them knowing about your emergency room."
The Keeper walked towards the large fridge and opened its door to show Daniel its contents.
"The fridge will be restocked with food every night during its restocking process. It will lock for about three minutes before and after midnight, for a total of six minutes. And that window over there," The Keeper pointed towards the glass window through which Daniel could see the outside world. It showed the scene outside which is his workshop.
The Keeper pointed to the door with the exit sign and said.
"You can observe the outside situation through the window, and no one will be able to see you from outside unless you open that door. You can bring guests in and out through that door, and once you summon the safety room door, they will see it. To summon the safety room door, you need to do the same thing as summoning the shop door."
He then walked towards the white door that connected to the card shop and continued.
"If you have other guests with you, this door will not appear, and time in this room will flow at the same speed as in the real world."
Daniel nodded in understanding and said, "I see, thank you for showing me around, Keeper."
"Mr. Daniel, as a frequent customer who has purchased booster packs before and also the only one so far, you are entitled to three spins on the wheel of fortune," he explained.
Upon hearing this, Daniel's excitement grew. He couldn't believe he might be able to get his hands on an entire box set without spending a single Origold.
Excitedly, like a child with a new toy, Daniel approached the wheel of fortune and began spinning it. The wheel spun and spun until it came to a stop, with the red arrow pointing to "X2 Booster Pack," and two booster packs appeared on the tray below the wheel without any indication of which set they were from.
"Congratulations! You've won two booster packs for free," exclaimed The Keeper in an upbeat tone.
Daniel nodded in appreciation at the Keeper and proceeded to take his second roll. The wheel of fortune spun and spun until it gradually approached the "?" section, piquing Daniel's curiosity about what it might hold.
As the wheel came to a halt, unfortunately, landed on the "X" section, causing Daniel to point at it and ask the Keeper if it meant he got nothing.
The Keeper's grin widened, and he shrugged with a teasing glint in his eyes, making it clear that the answer was obvious.
"Sigh… fine… let's do the last one," Daniel said, rolling the wheel once more, but this time, without much expectation. The wheel spun for a few moments before finally stopping at the "?" section.
Daniel was left curious as the Keeper remained silent.
But soon, the entire shop shook and began to transform. A new poster emerged beside the old promotional one of "The Crusade Of Light And Darkness".
The new poster featured a stormy sea in the background, with a white-haired man in his mid-fifties donning artifact armor that looked like power armor, casting powerful magic. In front of him was a large monster that resembled a mix of crab, octopus, and lizard-shaped humanoid, while a city about to be destroyed by sea and tempest was depicted on the far right of the poster.
Within seconds, the shop was filled with new items, including the poster, a brochure, a play mat, and a large box of new sets that materialized behind the counter.
"It seems like you've won a new set from the random reward section, Mr. Daniel. I hope this set has what you're looking for," said the Keeper, whose smile widened.
He then turned towards the large box that appeared behind him and began to open it, pulling out two box sets and placing them on the counter.
The new set that Daniel received was titled "The Sinking of Atlantis." It was centered around the conflict between the people of Atlantis and one of the Olympian gods, Poseidon. According to the lore written for the set, the people of Atlantis wanted to break free from the control of the gods, particularly Poseidon, who ruled over them with an iron fist and viewed humans as nothing more than a means to produce faith.
A war erupted between Atlantis and Poseidon, with the latter commanding a vast army of mortals under his influence, as well as numerous sea monsters. However, Atlantis possessed advanced magical technology and artifacts that they used to combat Poseidon's forces. In the end, Atlantis was destroyed as Poseidon himself descended to deal with the city, rather than relying on his minions and followers.
Daniel recalled that "The Sinking of Atlantis" set contained various powerful artifacts, including vehicle cards such as the Atlantean Battleship and Floating Fortress, as well as the power armor featured in the poster. However, he regretted not including the Poseidon card in this set, as he planned to create another set called "The Atlantis Avenged" in which he would include it.
Had he foreseen this turn of events, he would have included the Poseidon card in "The Sinking of Atlantis" set.
Despite his excitement, Daniel wanted to make sure that the Origold coin could be used for trading at the shop. He stepped forward and placed the most valuable coin he had on the counter.
The Keeper took a moment to examine the coin and then said, "This is orichalcum mixed with gold. The purity of the orichalcum is very high! As for the gold... It's okay. I think two of these coins would be enough to buy a booster pack."
Daniel murmured as he compared the value of the coin.
"That coin counts as one thousand Origold. If it were US dollars, it would be worth around 30 thousand dollars. Hmm... it's cheaper than using one kilogram of pure gold, but still not efficient enough."
The Keeper suggested, "Do you still want to buy the pack using this coin? It's possible, but not as efficient as using it to buy orichalcum and refining it before using the refined orichalcum to buy the pack."
After thinking for a moment, Daniel decided not to use the coin to buy the booster pack. He felt secure with Michaela always by his side, and he didn't have an urgent need for more power or specific cards this time.
Moreover, with his reputation in the Curtained World, he could easily find a new supplier for orichalcum and use the money to purchase it in larger quantities and refine it, which would be a more efficient use of the coin.
Daniel was aware that despite his current financial status, he couldn't recklessly waste his money like before when he had almost used up all his money to purchase gold bullion. He knew he had a better alternative now.
"No, thanks. I think I'll return with refined orichalcum to make the purchase," he told the Keeper.
Then proceeded to open the two bonus booster packs he had received and was taken aback to discover that they only contained Rare, Epic Rare, and Legendary cards. Despite the fact that each pack contained only five cards, he was thrilled to find a Profession card in one of them.
