Chapter 356 Meeting Mother-In-Law

Chapter 356 Meeting Mother-In-Law

Daniel was momentarily taken aback by Envy's question. "...No... Why?" he denied, though his response carried a brief moment of hesitation.

Observing Daniel's fleeting hesitation, Envy's smile widened slightly, transforming into a knowing grin.

"You know... among the women who are in love or at least interested in you, most of them are that type. Koyuki, Michaela, Penthesilea, Pride – all of them are warrior girl types. Especially Koyuki and Penthesilea, the two girls who have been intimate with you, are warrior girl types. You could say that among this sorry group of women, only Me and Greed are not of that type," Envy remarked, her tone teasing.

"Is this why you didn't pursue us?" Envy asked with a playful tone.

Upon hearing Envy's explanation, Daniel felt a twinge of annoyance, but he managed a daring smile. "Oh? Do I need to make a move on you to prove that I'm not what you think?" he quipped, leaning in closer to Envy.

Envy was momentarily flustered, her face flushing as she glanced around and noticed their colleagues in the command room watching them with bated breath.

Although Envy didn't mind the idea of getting involved with Daniel, the scrutiny of their colleagues made her feel embarrassed. Yet, she didn't want to back down and lose the chance to tease him. Just then, she noticed Tomoe, whose face was turning red with embarrassment at witnessing the exchange.

"Ahem..." Envy faked a cough, nudging Daniel and gesturing discreetly toward Tomoe, who seemed uncomfortable with their flirtatious banter.

Daniel, realizing Tomoe's discomfort, quickly apologized. "Oh! Tomoe-san, I'm truly sorry for subjecting you to such unsightly behavior," he said apologetically.

"Err... It's okay, my Lord. I don't mind. It's just..." Tomoe quickly reassured, not wanting her lord to feel discomfort in her presence.

"Oh? You don't mind? Does this mean you also want to join in?" Envy teased the new girl.

"Ah... Eh!? What? I... I can? No! I... I mean... I'm not worthy!" Tomoe quickly denied, flustered by the sudden attention. But with the cat out of the bag, Envy's smile only widened. She didn't know where Daniel found this cute warrior girl who was so easy to tease, but she was determined to enjoy it.

"Sigh... stop it, will you?" Daniel lightly bonked Envy on the forehead with his palm before turning to Tomoe, who was still flustered.

"I'm sorry, Tomoe. Envy just likes to tease others, but she means no harm," Daniel apologized on Envy's behalf, then quickly turned back to Envy.

"I'm sorry, but I need to go. I have a date with Koyuki, so see you later," he bid Envy farewell before leaving to meet with Koyuki, leaving Envy giggling at him.

Daniel walked towards the Medical Center, with Tomoe looking around at their surroundings with wonderment and awe.

Stepping into the inner courtyard, visitors are welcomed by meticulously tended gardens, where vibrant cherry blossom trees splash pink hues against the fortress's backdrop. Stone pathways meander through the greenery, guiding guests deeper into the castle's core.

Within the keep, expansive halls are adorned with tapestries that chronicle scenes from the clan's illustrious history. Polished wooden floors reflect the warm glow of lanterns, infusing the corridors with a soft, inviting light that seamlessly blends tradition with modern comfort.

Servants and samurai, attired in Western suits, bustle about the castle, their awkward gait betraying their unfamiliarity with Western clothing.

From the castle's highest vantage points, breathtaking vistas unfold, offering panoramic views of rolling hills, serene lakes, and dense forests—a poignant reminder of the Mori Clan's enduring connection to the land they call home in the modern age.

At the castle's summit, an elderly man clad in Western attire paces anxiously, while an elegant woman in a green kimono calmly sips tea nearby.

"Goddamn it! When is that damn foreigner going to arrive? Didn't Koyuki-chan tell us he'd be here today? And these damn Western clothes are so tight! How do Westerners even bear them? Aren't they stifled?" the old man complains loudly.

"Grandfather, that damn foreigner's name is Daniel. He's your great grandson-in-law and my son-in-law. Please show some respect. You needn't wear a suit if you don't want to, and there's no need to impose Western dress on our entire staff.

Seriously, the first time I saw my personal maid wearing an umbrella skirt while preparing tea for me and sitting on the floor, I was almost shocked. Their lives are hard enough; please don't make it worse for them," admonishes the elegant woman, Mayumi Mori,Koyuki's mother. As for the old man, Seichuro Mori, the current patriarch, stands beside her.

"No! I won't let that damn foreigner look down on us!" the old man shouts stubbornly.

"Ugh... When will you start listening to others?" Mayumi sighs wearily. Though he's as stubborn as a mule, she knows the old man deeply loves her and his great-granddaughter, Koyuki, making him one of the few who truly care for them.

At that moment, the VTOL arrived, its high-speed jet engines roaring as it descended above the castle. Seichuro Mori, the old man, was alarmed.

"Blast it! Whose plane is that? That space was reserved for that blasted foreigner! Guards!" The old man wasted no time and promptly summoned the guard.

In an instant, Samurai in black suits swiftly arrived and knelt before the old man, while Mayumi clenched her head, feeling as if she were about to have an aneurysm.

"Grandfather, can you please check the owner of that plane first? I believe it belongs to Daniel," Mayumi suggested.

Upon hearing this, the old man turned towards his granddaughter, who let out a sigh. "What!? Why didn't you tell me earlier!?"

"Sigh..." Mayumi sighed once again.

"Come, come! Let's go meet that blasted foreigner together! HAHAHAHA!!" The old man pulled his granddaughter up and strode down the castle along with his guards, his wide smile evident on his face. Even the most clueless observer could tell that the old man was immensely proud of his great grandson-in-law. After all, this was the man who single-handedly decimated the hateful Hojo clan in just one night!

But if anyone were to suggest that the old man was proud, he would vehemently deny it, only to continue cursing Daniel day in and day out.
