Yang Qingyue's group exited the elevator and strode toward the subjects' location. Their momentum was so great, that everyone who was working paused.
Their eyes were drawn toward the group. The sudden silence pierced everyone's ears, as no one spoke a word.
Flabbergasted by Yang Qingyue's aura, they watched her step into the police chief's room.
No knocking, no politeness. It was her restraint, she controlled herself from kicking the door.
Slamming the door open into a room, where all the subjects she intended to apprehend, were gathered in a meeting room.
Perfect opportunity. No more energy wasted.
Her slamming action alarmed the others and gasps drew from the crowd. Cai Ning entered the room and stayed beside Yang Qingyue for support.
The police chief and the other high-ranking officials were stunned by Yang Qingyue's entrance before someone burst out in anger.
The police chief scolded. "Superintendent Yang, what do you think you are doing? Breaking in and interrupting our important meeting?!"
Another senior officer beside him also echoed. "Don't think you have the background, you can do anything without fearing us. At least have some respect. I think it's better for us to suspend Officer Yang Qingyue from duty."
"I think so."
The senior officers discussed in front of her fiercely, dismissing her presence to punish her act.
Yang Qingyue also wanted to see how they planned but she didn't have all day. Time was of the essence.
"That won't be necessary, Gentlemen." Yang Qingyue said but her words were ignored. She wasn't angry or disturbed since she knew who had the last words.
But she must finish the arrest quickly and gave an eye gesture toward Cai Ning, who nodded and stepped forward.
Cai Ning whacked the table surface out loud and stopped the chicken pecking mess, allowing Yang Qingyue to speak.
Her friend's surrounding air was so cold and fierce, it scared the senior officers to speechlessness.
"Ahem...Gentlemen, you're all under arrest by the orders of our mayor, signed by the municipal judge. Here is the arrest warrant for all the officers involved." Yang Qingyue's words weren't loud but in the silence, it rang into everyone's ears.
No one believed it until she took out the arrest warrant and showed it to the subjects. Yang Qingyue continued her speech.
"Handcuff them!" Yang Qingyue ordered, very delighted. She had always wanted to shove them into jails.
Her subordinates obeyed the command while listening to their swearing words and threats.
One even moved his big backer behind him and the domino effect soon ensued.
"My brother-in-law is the judge. Do you think you can get away with this? I'll see if you still have this face when I'm set free." The police chief muttered under Yang Qingyue's control as he was pressed to the ground.
"My uncle is one of the highest officials in Province N; I hope you can work perfectly fine after you did these to us."
Cai Ning had a speechless face, watching these men becoming like kids who called for their parents when troubles occurred.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary but one must remember they were in officialdom. They must be aware of their words.
Moving out the backers meant they were also connected which suggested if the investigation continued, their backers were also likely in trouble. Plus their opponents would exploit this temporary weakness for themselves.
Calling them stupid was an understatement, Cai Ning thought. Perhaps, they had been domineering in Province N for so long they forgot there were still people who could threaten even their so-called support.
However, their outcries still had an effect on Yang Qingyue's subordinates as shown in their hesitant expression.
Yang Qingyue never had the slightest thought to blame them because everyone watched out for their survival.
They had wages to earn to pay expenses in their family. No one wanted to lose the source of income if possible.
Offending these officials would make their future path harder but their hesitance disappeared after realizing, they had already done so.
There was no going back. Even if they took a step back, these senior officers who they handcuffed would also retaliate, no matter what.
"Also, you better listen to me and shut up if you don't wanna bring your dire consequences higher than now." Yang Qingyu advised these groups of men.
It wasn't her kindness to give them advice but a necessity to prevent the situation from breaking away from her hand.
Although she wished they spoke more so that she could collect more evidence, there wasn't any good for her.
The opponent would exploit them and hurt their backers whom Yang Qingyue made a deal with.
The situation wouldn't change other than the new replacements of other corrupt officers.
It was better to sacrifice some aspects for the better of the whole police station.
