Chapter 962 - The Ruler of God’s Armor

From the tenth mural onwards, it told the tale of the Ruler of Gods descending upon the mortal realm to bring a few talented mortals back to Mount Pantheon, into the Inner Palace and granting them Godhood.

Slowly, the number of mortals being granted Godhood by the Ruler of Gods in the murals grew higher, and Mount Pantheon began to fill up with immortal gods.

The originally peaceful and harmonious gods began take hostile actions due to the ascension of these new gods.

Finally, a war erupted between the original gods and the new gods.

One of the original gods was dissatisfied with the Ruler of Gods continuing to create more Gods, but after he failed to persuade him otherwise, inside this exact inner palace, he managed to manipulate the Ruler of Gods into taking off his God Armor and putting away his God Staff. Then, he attacked the Ruler of Gods, killing Omega.

That original god, now wielding the God Staff and wearing the God Armor, became the new Ruler of Gods. With that, the second God Wars began.

This time, it was an extremely one-sided battle. With the power of the newly crowned Ruler of Gods, he instantly wiped out nearly every single new god.

In the twenty-ninth mural, in order to prevent the new gods from threatening the position of the original gods, the new Ruler of God proposed to end the world.

He wanted to completely destroy every single organism that the Creator God had created. This way, no more new gods would appear.

The new Ruler of God’s proposal was supported by a portion of the original gods, but there was also a portion of them who were against the idea. Amongst them, the Supreme God of Life, Elusia, and the Death God, Diablo, spearheaded the opposition.

What happened next was even easier to comprehend, since the legends recorded down within Pantheon Continent history was quite similar to what was depicted on the murals. However, at the very end of the murals, the content it had depicted left Li Yi completely shocked.

As the third God Wars erupted, countless gods perished on the battlefield. This war lasted for centuries, all the way till the Ruler of Gods forcefully banished the Supreme God of Life, Elusia, who could not be killed, even by the Ruler of Gods’ Staff, to an Alternate Dimension.

In the thirty-ninth mural, the aftermath of the war was depicted there, showing that Elusia was banished to the Alternate Dimension. On the surface, it looked like the Ruler of Gods had won, but the reality could not be further than the truth.

Elusia’s final attack managed to greatly damage the Ruler of Gods.

The originally forever-young Ruler of Gods slowly grew older. Like the Creator God, he knew that he would die pretty soon. However, before his whole “End of the World” project was completed, how could he die satisfied?

Moments before his flesh disintegrated, the Ruler of Gods bequeathed his Ruler of Gods’ Staff to the God-queen, Carulla, putting her in charge of the gods until his return.

Then, the Ruler of Gods’ soul dissipated towards the Pantheon Continent and he disappeared…

Subsequently, under his instructions, the God-queen Carulla sent out the Ascension Quests.

At that point, the mural came to a sudden end!

The Mountain instantly complained, “What the f*ck? So, this whole sh*tty Ascension Quest stuff we did was actually to ‘celebrate the return of the Ruler of Gods’?”

Li Yi nodded. From the story illustrated from the mural, that definitely seemed like the case. After the Ruler of Gods’ soul had dispersed, in order to bring him back, Carulla had to put out the Ascension Quests.

With that, the mystery as to why no one managed to ascend to Godhood after so long was finally solved. Since Carulla still had not managed to bring back the Ruler of Gods, naturally, there would not be anyone who could ascend to Godhood.

The Mountain said, “As long as one wields the Ruler of Gods’ Staff and wears the Ruler of Gods’ Armor, they would have the ability to grant Godhood to others. So, if we manage to get out hands on both of these items, aren’t we set?”

“We already got the God Staff, what about the God Armor?”

Li Yi and The Mountain looked ahead almost simultaneously.

Inside the inner palace, there was yet another inner sanctum. (TN: The author used the same word in both cases, essentially saying “Inside the inner palace, there was yet another inner palace.” Hence, I changed the second one into “inner sanctum” instead.) Glancing over, they could vaguely see rainbow-colored light seeping out from within.

“Inside!”

Li Yi and The Mountain shouted out in unison. After quickly glancing at each other, they made haste over towards the light.

“Thud!”

“Thud!”

Li Yi ran over as he slammed the staff on the ground every few steps. Soon, they arrived at the entrance to the Inner Sanctum. Peeking inside, the tiny sanctum was completely empty, save for the floating armor that was shining brightly with a rainbow-colored light at the center of the room.

“The Ruler of Gods’ Armor!”

The Mountain laughed heartily. “So, it was here after all! Hahahaha…”

Li Yi quickly surveyed the surroundings. As soon as he confirmed that there was nothing dangerous nearby, he steeled his nerves and walked up to the Ruler of Gods’ Armor”.

“Thud!”

“Thud!”

“Bam!”

Just as Li Yi approached the Ruler of Gods’ Armor, an immense force suddenly pushed him back, causing him to involuntarily be flung backward.

Li Yi stood up and shook his head at The Mountain. “There’s a strong repelling force ahead, I can’t get through.”

The Mountain gave it a try himself, but he ended up in the same situation as Li Yi. They just could not get close to the Ruler of Gods’ Armor.

“Goddess, come out!”

Li Yi knocked on the Orange Quality Bow, causing the Hunter Goddess to come out.

Through the murals, Li Yi now knew clearly that the Hunter Goddess was a new god. She was in one of the factions that opposed the new Ruler of Gods plan to end the world.

However, the Hunter Goddess was not in the same faction as Evil God Elusia. This was due to the Hunter Goddess prioritizing the mortals in the mortal realm. In other words, she spent most of her time with the Dwarven tribes.

As the Hunter Goddess reached her hand out, the Orange Quality Bow automatically flew into her hand.

“Tch-psh-tst-pst——”

A red Meteor Arrow flew towards the Ruler of Gods’ Armor. When it was a mere five meters away from it, it just stopped completely halfway in the air.

“Tch-psh-tst-pst——”

Then, another red Meteor Arrow flew towards the Ruler of Gods’ Armor. Similarly, it stopped mid-air around five meters away from the armor.

The Hunter Goddess helplessly shook her head at Li Yi.

“I have little to no knowledge of the God Armor, but Carulla should know more.”

Li Yi nodded. He started slamming the God Staff as he made his way over to Carulla.

“Oh, great God-queen, it is time for you to shine! Tell me, what should I do in order to approach the Ruler of Gods’ Armor?”

“Only a true Ruler of Gods can approach it! Stop dreaming!”

“Evil God, I’ve gone through so much to release you from your shackles. I don’t mind if you do not shower me with gratitude, but answer me this, how does one approach the Ruler of Gods’ Armor?”

“Hand me the Ruler of Gods’ Staff, I will approach the Ruler of Gods’ Armor.”

“Go f*ck yourself!”

Just as Li Yi started his interrogation, The Mountain suddenly shouted out from behind him, “Dark Wing, look! The Ruler of Gods’ Armor is automatically flying ou- Waahaahaahhhh…”

As a rainbow-colored light flashed past the two of them, the strong repelling force knocked them off their feet.

The Ruler of Gods’ Armor floated in the air, flying right past them as it headed straight for the door. Swiftly, it managed to make its way out.

“F*ck! The Ruler of Gods’ Armor flew outside, we gotta chase it!”

Li Yi was in a rush. He was not even in the mood to interrogate Carulla and the Evil God any more at this point, he hastily chased after it.

By the time Li Yi and The Mountain followed it outside, they saw three corpses lying right at the entrance.

Fluttering Snow Purple Water Chestnut, Qian’er, and BB East were all lying flat on the ground.

“Whoosh… Whoosh… Whoosh…”

Just a short distance away, still floating in mid-air, the Ruler of Gods’ Armor was repeatedly spinning and jumping. It seemed quite happy.

Right underneath the Ruler of Gods’ Armor, there stood a skinny and weak-looking green-skinned Demon.

It was the Blademaster, Aragon!
