The battle against the world boss was ongoing from the last sixteen minutes, even though the battle started great with Nyla bombarding the dryad with hundreds of lances, each carrying the strength of a peak third Rank attack.
The bombardment of lances lasted for thirty seconds before Nyla was forced to stop as a giant meteor manifested above her and descended on her rapidly.
Nyla's attack was stopped, but it was enough to take away over a quarter of Dryad's health while also corroding her body with death and decay elements making her regeneration slow down significantly.
After seeing the results, Alex was thrilled, thinking the battle would go much more smoothly than he first thought, as the death corrosion could counter the passive regeneration.
But Alex's thinking changed quickly after the Dryad removed the death corrosion like it meant nothing, crushing his little hope.
The Dryad created four massive wood serpents who went on leveling what was left of the centaur settlement as they targeted both Alex and Nyla, and she also created two earth golems that took the role of the tank and took on any long or short-range attacks.
Alex joined the battle, not holding back, knowing he only had thirty minutes, and within seconds he took care of three of the wood serpents, slicing them into pieces.
Nyla looked skeptical at first as she didn't completely engage in the battle holding back and watching for Alex but seeing his performance shocked her as each serpent had the defense to handle most attacks under the Fourth Rank.
After seeing that her summoner wasn't a weak mortal and could handle his own, Nyla went for the Dryad, leaving Alex to handle the serpents, who were back to normal in mere seconds.
Alex had no issue with Nyla's quick decision because her death and decay element worked well against both the wood and earth elements, and with her elemental strength, she was a better opponent against Dryad, who could constantly regenerate.
The battle went smoothly for the first six minutes, in which Alex and Nyla worked together to chip away 50% of the dryad's health, but then she used her bloodline skill, completely changing the flow of the battle.
The bloodline skill was named "Nature Connection," and every royal dryad could use it by burning 10% of her health each minute in exchange for boosting her ability to manipulate her element.
The Dryad went on a rampage showing why she was a special-grade world boss monster, completely changing the flow of the battle.
After using the bloodline skill, the four wood serpents were gone, and what replaced them were two giant 150ft draconic serpents made from wood with dark stone scales covering every inch of their realistic-looking bodies.
The draconic serpent had a much higher defense than wood serpents being able to brush off any attack that was not on a scale of fourth while their strength and speed were considerably higher.
The most significant change was their regeneration which made the serpents heal instantly from any injury that didn't slice them in half or destroy a chunk of their body.
The two wood golems acting as her protector had their size boosted from twenty feet to forty feet large hulking giants, carrying giant shields and wielding different weapons, an axe and a sword.
The dryad also created a field of flowers around her in a fifty-meter radius that constantly released poisonous mist, making it deadly to even get near her.
'At this rate, the time will end before we can end this battle, or worse, I will die from mana depletion,' Alex thought, swinging his blade, sending energy slashes of sword intent bosted by darkness.
Alex was engaged in a battle against the two draconic serpents, which was quite a headache as those bastards could recover from any attack in a matter of seconds, and the constantly crashing meteors around him every few seconds weren't making things easy.
Alex was burning through mana and mental energy at a rapid pace, while Nyla was struggling to do any damage as nothing was getting past the two giant golems.
'I can create an opportunity, but you must be prepared to execute your strongest elemental move.' Alex said in a whisper, appearing beside Nyla.
'I will need Thirty seconds with no disturbance, and the moment you see the change in me, make sure to don't stay anywhere near me.' Nyla replied while keeping her focus on bombarding the dryad with multiple giant flame orbs.
'Thirty Seconds.' Alex thought, making a few calculations to buy that much time.
The time of Thirty seconds was meager, but in such a chaotic and fast pace battle, it was challenging to protect someone for such a duration.
'Handle the serpents and be prepared for my signal,' Alex whispered as he sprinted into action.
[Dark Vortex]
[Dark Flame Meteor]
Alex used the Vortex skill in the center of the poison field, making the thick position miasma gather to ward the center, giving him a clear view while simultaneously using the meteor shower to bombard the two hulking golems.
The Dryad stood in her original location in the center of the undamaged beautiful flower with dark, thick green roots dancing around her like snakes.
[Minor Null Energy]
Alex sprinted toward the Dryad, concentrating sword intent and a vast amount of mana on the blade's edge before using the null energy to make it as deadly as possible.
Alex vanished from his place, appearing behind the dryad with all the major joints in his right arm dislocated while his eyes turned pitch dark, absorbing any light around them, making his emotionless face look menacing.
'Phantom Sword Flash'
The green roots came to life and moved like they had their own senses ripping through Alex in the blink of an eye, and without slowing down, they zoomed toward Alex, who was now suspended mid-air on the left side of the dryad.
The roots kept following their target, destroying one mirage after the other, and after not even four seconds, there were eight distorted mirages of Alex around the dryad.
"Nyla, Now Is your chance." Alex's voice rang out loud, and a moment later, he appeared beside Nyla.
After hearing Alex's voice, Nyla spun around and vanished from her place, appearing at the edge of the poison field.
Nyla could see that other than the poison field shrinking toward the center and the wood golems being lit on dark flame, nothing had changed as the dryad stood in the distance without a scratch.
The sight made her question her summoner's words, but her thinking quickly changed seeing the hundreds razer thin lines appearing on the dryad body and her protector golems.
The golems started to crumble into chunks of wood while the dryad began to split into tens of pieces simultaneously, making even her monstres regeneration struggle to keep her body shape stable.
Nyla didn't waste a moment and griped the dark spear with both hands slamming it on the ground as she closed her eyes, and in mere moments, the raging death mana around her vanished.
The system bombarded Alex with a notification updating him on the damage he had dealt to the world Boss, but he stood focused, facing the two draconic serpents.
Alex's arm was covered in blood, with its skin ripped apart, but he swung it without care, making it appear to be a blur, sending slashes of darkness toward the two draconic serpents charging at him or, more precisely, toward the dryad.
The darkness slashes laced with pure darkness, and null energy sliced through the serpents' rigid scales, slicing them into pieces.
Alex used the air jump to appear a few meters away from Nyla high in the air to react better to any attack and then again started bombarding the two serpents with dark energy slashes, giving them no chance of recovery.
It was a struggle for the Dryad to heal her body because every slash she received was laced with potent null energy and the coronation of darkness.
Alex counted each second while keeping watch around to make sure nothing surpassed the fifty-meter range around Nyla.
Nyla stood like a statue, holding her spear with no aura or changes to the mana around her, making it hard to determine that she was preparing for a big move.
"BOOOOOOMMMM"
The dryad recovered after eighteen seconds passed, with her guardian recovering in the first four seconds, and like a beast being enraged, the ground around her got ripped open as massive green roots lashed out.
'Give me a break,' Alex thought, seeing the massive roots demolishing close to a hundred meters of the ground around the dryad.
'Nine more seconds.' Alex thought, sending dark slashes toward the rapidly recovering wood serpents before vanishing from his place.
The massive tree roots slammed the ground, making it crack under the impact and sending debris flying in all directions while new roots ripped through the ground and made their way toward Nyla.
