Chapter 486 Emperor's Plea
"The Demons is working with the Eldravian Empire to complete their agendas."
"It was the promises of the Eldravian Empire and the threat of Demons that bought the loyalty of my Empire Guardians, and it was them who supported the Demonic Cult and turned it into the giant that it is today."
"They made contact with my son after I was put into a state of coma and showed him an entire island whose population was turned into Devourer Beasts."
"They gave him a choice to work with them, or they would unleash those creatures of bottomless hunger on the Human continent, and in a few years, nothing would be left of it."
"To be saved from such a fate, they demanded that he surrender the Eight Chaos Generals, whose imprisonment could only be released by the Emperor of the Human Empire,"
"Their goal is to start a war, and when everything is plunged into flames, make the Human Empire pledge loyalty to the Eldravian Empire and repeat this process on all seven Continent," Emperor Melvin said, and Alex could see the Elders nodding their heads as if the missing pieces of the puzzle were finally coming together.
However, for Alex, only new questions were being raised, and though he could make educated guesses to grasp the context, this only led to more inquiries.
"The Eldravian Empire is located far from the Seven main continents, its area consisting of twelve smaller continents, that all combined would be around same as the Human Continent, but on power scale they have strength far surpassing any of the seven ruling Powers,"
"Their ambition to Rule is hidden from no one, but even as strong as they are, they don't have the means to conquer the seven Ruling Races all at once,"
"While they could undoubtedly crush any single ruling power in the span of a decade because they know that the seven ruling powers agreed to band together in case of an outside threat, they never made any direct attempt."
"Now, as for why the Demon King, who has an endless army at his command, is working together with another power,"
"The energy beacons will reveal the location, but the full might of the Eldravian Empire and Cult members will defend the four places."
"Now these exist Ahrimon words, exactly as they were delivered to me."
"Boy, let's play war, paint the world in Chaos, Screams and Death,"
"Convince those old bones, who exist rotting beneath my authority, bring them to the main stage that I will prepare for you, and try to stop me,"
"You might have a chance at victory, but understand that you will only be delaying the inevitable,"
"The World will burn, my armies will devourer everything, and I will be free, and the day I am, your dying domain will be the very first thing that I will erase from existence," "Boy, I hope you can entertain me," Emperor Melvin said and went silent, not because he had nothing else to say but because he feared that he might lose his tongue if he said anything further.
As moments passed, the gravity of the situation settled with Alex because even though he never took the matter lightly, he was hoping that it would be a bigger version of the first demon invasion, still a massive threat, but it would take years and years if not decades for the fatality rate to reach 70% for the entire continent and that was in the worst case scenario.
However, now he knew that even the guardians who were supposed to stand against the invasion had sold their loyalty while a much bigger player was at play, and there was no hope of reinforcement from other races who would be stumbling to prepare to defend their own people.
So things that should pan out to years would happen in a few years, if not months, and an unchecked, unchallenged demon army will not take human lives, it will reap them.
After seeing that the raging auras had calmed down, Emperor Melvin rose up from his seat and walked closer to Alex before kneeling on both knees with his head down, and he started to speak.
"I visited every power, and they did promise to help, but without your help, I fear we will suffer a great tragedy,"
"So, as a helpless man, I request that you find it in your heart to help me and my people in this moment of great need, and we will be eternally grateful for it," Emperor Melvin spoke before he rose up, looked Alex in the eyes, bowed once more, and returned to his seat.
