Chapter 84 Temporary Truce

Name:MMORPG: Crowd Control Author:
Days passed by, and Griselda had successfully integrated herself as one of the core members of Princess Kate's faction.

Within the time she had officially been assigned as a Commanding Officer, she was able to deploy numerous players into different areas, thwarting Prince Leon and Prince Carter's armies from advancing.

After realizing that the two of them had been backstabbed by Princess Kate, the two princes decided to join hands temporarily to demolish her army.

Alas, their decision was simply far too late as they had missed the golden timing.

Princess Kate's army at this moment was larger than the two princes combined.

In addition, thanks to the beauty of Griselda and her amazing tactics, more and more players requested to join Princess Kate's faction.

Currently, the territory that was occupied initially by both the princes had slowly been overtaken by Princess Kate.

The citizens of Yors Castle were especially exhilarated when they heard the news of their beloved princess fighting back and winning hard.

Who said women can't join a war?

Who said women can't defeat men?

Princess Kate was the definition of a strong woman, capable of thwarting both princes into oblivion.

Her popularity and morale support rose to an all-time peak, and it was predicted that Princess Kate would win the war within a week.

"Princess Kate, Chancellor, our armies have successfully invaded another secret camp from the princes. Currently, they have retreated another 2 kilometers." Griselda reported.

During the time she had commanded the players and other soldiers in the army, she had finally realized the mysterious man was the anonymous player that held the rank of Chancellor.

Of course, Lei Zhen had never admitted it but with her cleverness, and how she had never seen the anonymous player before. It wasn't hard to determine his identity after eliminating other possibilities.

"Cough, you can stop calling me chancellor. I'm not really a chancellor and am just a temporary one." Lei Zhen coughed and corrected her.

Meanwhile, Kate, who was standing by the side, showed a bitter smile for a split second when she heard Lei Zhen refusing to be called a chancellor.

Even after all this time, Lei Zhen never acknowledged himself as a chancellor.

If it wasn't because of her persistence and offer of their royal treasure, then she was sure Lei Zhen would continue to refuse the role temporarily.

Despite his words, Griselda shrugged her shoulders. "You still refuse to tell me your name, so I'm just going to continue to call you chancellor. Of course, you can reveal your identity to me and I'll stop."

"Then just call me chancellor."

"Tsk, you're no fun. Why are you acting so mysterious? I'm still curious as to how you resist my charm and immobilize me in an instant from the spar." Griselda pouted slightly.

Alas, her pouting was rendered useless in front of the calm and collected Lei Zhen.

"Alright, that's enough fooling around. What is your true motive for coming here? I doubt you would leave your post to report this information to us." Lei Zhen said, going straight to the main point.

Griselda might have seemed like she was pouting like a little girl and wanted to find out his identity, but he knew better than that. If it wasn't for something important, she would not come here personally to report to them.

And sure enough, Griselda's face turned solemn and revealed an unexpected request from the princes.

"Prince Leon and Prince Carter request for a truce temporarily and have a meeting at the center of the demilitarized zone." She said sternly.

A demilitarized zone is a place that banned weapons and armies from fighting. It was established by the neighboring countries and cities to prevent their fighting from escalating further which would harm the innocents.

Thus, anyone that dared to break the rules of the demilitarized zone would be equivalent to provoking all the neighboring countries and cities.

Hence, it was the best place to have their meeting in.

After all, no one would be dumb enough to provoke so many countries at once.

Kate began to ponder over why the princes would suddenly want to discuss with her when she had sent numerous messengers to them previously, only to have them deny her request for a meet-up.

"You don't need to ponder over such a simple matter, Kate." Lei Zhen smirked.

"Previously, you have not shown your might so they didn't take you seriously. But now, you are the ferocious tiger whereas they are the cubs." He explained, giving her a thumbs up.

"I see… but that's not my concern," Kate said in a muddled tone.

"What I'm concerned about is why you stall the war till this long? During this time, I can tell Griselda was capable of capturing the two princes, but she wasn't doing that. Instead, she was just capturing their territory slowly by bits and always giving them a leeway."

Hearing her concern, Lei Zhen smiled briefly and nodded his head.

"This question of yours, I'll let Griselda answer you." He said and turned to Griselda.

Griselda was baffled for a moment and tilted her head slightly.

How was she supposed to know what to answer?

She was following his command to stall the battle as long as possible.

"Can you not tease me like that?" Griselda could only smile bitterly and shake her head. There was obviously some information that she was kept in the dark about since she doesn't know why there was a need to stall.

"Sigh, must I have to answer everything myself?" Lei Zhen stood up and sighed, clicking his tongue as he looked at Griselda in disappointment.

He was doing this on purpose to remind her just because she's clever, doesn't mean she'll know everything.

Of course, with her shamelessness, Griselda shrugged, acting like she saw nothing.

With the message sent across, Lei Zhen then answered Kate's concern.

"The reason why I stalled for so long is that there is still one more variable that has been hiding in the scene, the black mage."
